  4. IMO GOG is hands down the best game store out there for users. Not only it doesn't allow any kind of DRM, IINM it's the only store that allows you to download offline installation files for the games and keep them as backups, with no limitations. I don't even have to install their client. Unfortunately the side effect of their DRM-free policy is that most publishers do not put their latest titles there.

  7. Tesla ordered by court to halt work on German gigafactory

This factory and forest aside, can you please explain what your plans are with the millions of tons of toxic waste with the dead Lithium batteries after they wear off? It's a tricky question that Musk always dodges. Yes, you can (kinda) recycle Lithium batteries, too bad the process costs around 5 times more than mining it, so in essence no one on Earth is doing it. And the process also emits greenhouse gases by the way. The US is all about Tesla now, Musk this, Musk that, Made in Murrica, such green, so innovation, but in reality, it's just a different, somewhat "better" form of pollution. Someone's definitely clueless in this case, but curiously it's not the green league this time. I am pro hydrogen and I don't think an electric car is green than a regular car. However, the use of electric cars is the "poster girl" of the green movements. The Green League is not complaining if the battery is recyclable (or about Murica) but about the forest and water. The forest is not a reserve and the water, if they can process the water, then they could comply with the law. You basically just evaded his actual questions... Germany being woke? No, more like actual, valid questions that Musk obfuscates, just as you have.

DUH! Who wants to pay THAT much for a phone, that will be DISCOUNTED in 9 months. Phones (flagships) don't mean what they once did. Now, it's a tricks & gimmicks, in an attempt to keep pushing the price higher & higher.

All that is fine except glass does not puncture, it shatters and as we clearly saw in the video, the screen punctures right through, damaging the pixels beneath.

Then how about people don't buy Samsung's cutting-edge overpriced phones? Let the folding displays fade away. There will be other foldables which use a hinge.

Great app The one bug I've always reported but has yet to fix is this. If you have a list of apps but see one it wants to update but realize you don't need it anymore, so you uninstall it. After uninstalling an app you click rescan on patchmypc. It disappears on the right but stays checked on the left. I can't count how many times I miss it on a large list of apps and have Said app, get reinstalled. I just bumped the old bug report on his forum to tell him it's still not fixed.

The forest is not a reserve and the water, if they can process the water, then they could comply with the law. Petrol extraction and refinery both also comply with the law, that doesn't mean they're pollution-free. I've been saying for a while that all Hydrogen needs is a Musk-level showman that makes it cool, nothing more. And I also hate the term "electric car", because both BEV and FCEV are electric. While Musk's trying hard to defy physics, FCEV semis are already doing the heavy lifting in Cali. FCEV buses are all around in the Netherlands and China. It's bound to take over anything battery has to offer, at least in commercial use cases, because the energy density is 100 times higher. Musk is an engineer so I must assume he simply pretends to not know this fact. And the thing is, since he's invested so heavily in battery tech, he's no longer fit to answer questions on the matter.

  20. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip's ultra thin glass could just be plastic

That explains it, it's a laminate which is a fancy way of saying glass sandwiched between plastic. Automotive glass is similar with the glass on the outer layers. High speed windscreens such as on trains often have an anti-spalling layer on the inside face that can easily be damaged by items left on the dashboard. It shouldn't surprise anyone that works with optical fibres that glass does bend, but it has a minimum bend radius. It then goes to say that the THINNER the glass, the smaller the bend radius which is what you need for a folding display. The warping around the front facing camera kind of confirms this. Some tweaking is required to put the glass as the outer layer. Maybe gen 3 will find a happy medium, thicker glass, smaller bend radius.

I’m done with Windows 10 completely. This is what happens when Microsoft scrap their QA division and put the responsibility on Insiders, who don’t even get to test the security updates. Fed up with this constantly buggy mess of an OS.

  24. Tesla ordered by court to halt work on German gigafactory

Have you ever saw a battery plant? Not one that puts a nice finished product together? “They are cleaner” would be something nobody says that either works or lives near one. The emissions offset takes about a decade to break even when compared to a IC car. It’s a toxic, destructive process. Not to mention that most Tesla’s are leased, for only a few years, hardly that 10 years it’ll take to offset. They are just as polluting as regular cars, just that instead of the emissions produced via fuel combustion, it’s emitted during battery construction, as well as charging (coal, gas, nuclear power sources). I see you're conveniently not including petrol/oil refining and shipping in the equation of creating an ICE car. Also, most Tesla cars are less than two years old so it's a little early to predict how long they'll be used for. Their batteries will most likely outlast the car. https://cleantechnica.com/2018...may-last-for-500000-miles/" rel="external nofollow">https://cleantechnica.com/2018...-may-last-for-500000-miles/ https://www.industryweek.com/t...es-massive-carbon-footprint And you missed the point about 10 year turn around and leasing. That lessee is going to go and lease another new car, lets just say a Tesla, now they are using yet another battery that produces a ton of emissions during creation. All for another 3-4 year lease, repeat process. This has nothing to do with battery durability, but the actual turn around time for a hybrid/electric car to offset the emissions created during it's construction, which is about 10 years of an ICE car burning fuel. Tesla's are not clean cars because they run on electric, far from it. It doesn't make sense to SCRAP a 3 year old car, electric or ICE. Surely they would sell it used? Anyway, the battery isn't entirely useless once it's end-of-life for the car. It's still good enough for home energy storage, like Tesla Powerwall.

  36. Tesla ordered by court to halt work on German gigafactory

Also, if a company owns a forest then it earns green bonds. If the company cut down a tree, then it must replant it elsewhere to comply with the law. If the company plant a tree, then it also earns a green bond. Rinse and repeat and it could produce unlimited green bonds and earning money in the process. The Kyoto Protocol was a useless joke and the Paris Accord is even more stupid.

It’s literally tree farm forest that was destined and grown for logging. Along with Tesla having to replant any tree they cut down its German law. Absolute nuts stopping this.

  41. The Big Wrestling Thread!

I can't speak to AEW but as far as WWE shows go, NXT has been on point and as of the new year even RAW has been better. Smackdown still needs work but I think we're going to get there also. The issue is the silly Saudi Arabia show screws things because it forces them to come up with fan "dream matches" that don't fit in with any of the current story lines they might have going. They should move that show to a later date where they're a bit more free to book matches not between the rumble and mania.

Locking Thread I think this thread has run its course. We at neowin do not condone Ad or Script blocking. We can't stop you if you choose to do so, but if things on the site break in the process then we will not be able to assist you to get around that. As stated, Neowin uses CDN resources from Google for many of its live scripts to function in a simple manor.
