  1. Firefox 73.0.1

My favorite part is when roughly 30% of the websites on Firefox are glitching and not loading properly compared to Chrome and other Blink-powered browsers where they load flawlessly. xD You have got to have some extension/setting messing up Firefox if you're having issues on 30% of the websites you visit. I have never had any issue on any site I visit. I believe it was you that said the same thing the last time an article was posted on an update here. How about posting some links to all these sites that aren't loading properly? You did post a link to Mega site last time and I and another person replied it was working fine for us.

  2. IMO GOG is hands down the best game store out there for users. Not only it doesn't allow any kind of DRM, IINM it's the only store that allows you to download offline installation files for the games and keep them as backups, with no limitations. I don't even have to install their client. Unfortunately the side effect of their DRM-free policy is that most publishers do not put their latest titles there.

Actually, this makes them less like Microsoft, since MS skipped Windows 9.

  9. No. The original article linked above describes this much more accurately. The screen is going to roll-open or roll-closed as you close the right and left handholds. So, it's one screen, wherein you only view part of it when closed, all of it when open. It's a very interesting design that eliminates the need for any crease or seem whatsoever.

  11. Access to the clipboard on your Android phone requires OEM support to get, it's got nothing to do with MS's app or any APIs their Your Phone link uses, which is just wifi direct. So I don't know what you're talking about with a open API.

  12. does the Duo have a screen on the outside at all? I haven't really kept up, but if it's ONLY the two inside screens then it really be a niche product that will likely be DOA due to zero use case. How awkward is that going to be to have to open up the device to dial a number / select a contact, and then close the device again just to talk on it having to open it again to end the call. because no one is going to hold it open during the call, that would be even more awkward ... You are correct, the only versions and prototypes we've seen to date have no screens on the outside. Only on the inside. Using it as a phone will be very awkward indeed. I disagree, but given how many minutes people actually spend talking on the phone these days it might not matter for majy users. another possible issue not related to talking. How will keyboard work on the dual screen devices? Will it always be split between both screens even if using an app on a single screen or will it put the keyboard just on the screen of the app being used at the time? just having the keyboard on one screen would be awkward to type on IMO if using your thumbs.

When you see the words premium or flagship, regardless if they are worthy of the name, look for the price to be in the 900-1200 dollar range.

  23. Patch My PC Updater 4.1.0.4

Great app The one bug I've always reported but has yet to fix is this. If you have a list of apps but see one it wants to update but realize you don't need it anymore, so you uninstall it. After uninstalling an app you click rescan on patchmypc. It disappears on the right but stays checked on the left. I can't count how many times I miss it on a large list of apps and have Said app, get reinstalled. I just bumped the old bug report on his forum to tell him it's still not fixed.

Buying a high end phone makes zero sense anymore. When you can get a decent 108mp camera for 300 bucks dropping more than a grand for a marginally better camera makes zero sense.

  28. This factory and forest aside, can you please explain what your plans are with the millions of tons of toxic waste with the dead Lithium batteries after they wear off? It's a tricky question that Musk always dodges. Yes, you can (kinda) recycle Lithium batteries, too bad the process costs around 5 times more than mining it, so in essence no one on Earth is doing it. And the process also emits greenhouse gases by the way. The US is all about Tesla now, Musk this, Musk that, Made in Murrica, such green, so innovation, but in reality, it's just a different, somewhat "better" form of pollution. Someone's definitely clueless in this case, but curiously it's not the green league this time. I am pro hydrogen and I don't think an electric car is green than a regular car. However, the use of electric cars is the "poster girl" of the green movements. The Green League is not complaining if the battery is recyclable (or about Murica) but about the forest and water. The forest is not a reserve and the water, if they can process the water, then they could comply with the law.

The Duo looks big to use as a phone, but can't you fold it so that there is one screen on the back and one on the front? The hinge goes both ways isn't it? Yeah, from the leaks, the dude holds it in one hand like someone holds a Kindle or iPad Mini, where their fingertips claw the edges. Not really a pocketable device.

I'm unsure of how far the hinge goes. that's another good question. If so hopefully the back screen also turns off when you put it up to your ear otherwise that also would be rather awkward for people to see what's on you're back screen while talking lol

  32. The only thing that can and will flop harder than a new Windows Phone is the Surface Duo running Android - in a world overflooding with Android phones and entrenched Android OEMs, the Surface Duo is indeed DOA. Now I don't really mind, but it sucks that it takes the pretty cool Surface Neo down with it.

Sad that this is the case, but good on them at least. thank you for replying. that is tragic to me. as 2017 is the holiest of years on my calendar. ... and my hardware manufacturer seems to not "officially" support my 2017 phone with android 10...

  36. What's wrong with your s9? *shrugs* it's old and less cool? :-p Honestly the biggest draw to getting a new phone is battery improvements. Compared to the s9 the s20 is 33% better rated battery (3000 mah vs 4000). That's pretty significant. Not to mention the fact that a 2 yr old phone has used up a goo deal of it's battery's limited number of discharges. Then of course theres the general improvement in performance day to day, 5G compatibility, and storage capacity. Probably keep 120Hz off then if you care about your battery. Just a thought.

And who knows if Google won't just do something silly at some point that breaks any integration MS does only to turn around and say "oops".

  44. Valve's VR exclusive Half-Life: Alyx releases on March 23

And that is exactly the point. Half Life Alyx pushed me to finally buy a headset and I'm not regretting it. It would not make any sense if HLA was not a VR-only title. well, no one played the game, so we have no idea about how good the gameplay actually is and if it can translate into non-VR controller / mouse-kb play. if it can be transitioned, i would think Valve or modders, will release non-VR version once the hype over the game dies down.

  45. Not sure I follow... does the nVidia control panel have the ability to designate which GPU an application runs on? I don't currently have a PC with both integrated and dedicated GPUs to check that myself... Who needs that seriously...to have people micromanage their GPU usage? Are you kidding me? Mobile users who value battery. Duh? What mobile users are you talking about lol? Not repeating what I have already said. If you can’t read, that is your problem. Laptop users are not mobile, those are people who carry couple pounds heavy PC Desktop. Used to be heavier. Mobile users are people with Tablet or Smart Phones. Somehow definition of mobile user is lost along the way. I have ITX PC Desktop so small that is easier to carry than Laptop and it has 8/16 CPU in with 1080 ti and still it does not qualify as mobile device. There is only one type of devices Windows 10 runs on and that's PC Desktop. There are few tablet attempts here and there which had unfortunate end to it. An iPad Pro 12.9 in with the smart Keyboard Folio weighs the same as the Acer swift 7, Have similar battery life and One can get more things done in the Acer. Please sit down. You are embarrassing yourself.

  46. OMFG You have NO IDEA WTF YOU are talking about, JUST STOP, I am embarrassed for you. For anyone that wants to understand... - Windows (Since Vista) supports SMT GPU processes and threading. - This specific setting in Windows 10 allow users to target the GPU they want an Application to run on. For example, if you have an Animated/Video Wallpaper App, and you don't need your Geforce 2080 to run it, it instead can run on the integrated Intel GPU and consume almost no power, effortlessly. Also, this doesn't even have to do with 'MOBILE' users. There are times DESKTOP WORKSTATION users will want Maya to run on a slower GPU, and leave the faster GPU to the rendering pipeline. This also helps software that is multi-GPU unaware and locks itself and its threads to a specific GPU, even though Windows 10 is able to throw calls to any GPU and even the CPU based on load. Hopefully software will stop locking itself to GPU contexts on Windows like it is Linux or OS X crap.

  47. Hands on with the Windows 10X emulator

So a OS for mobile dual screen devices is targeting mobile devices, you don't say? Who said anything about running this on desktops? Though dual screen laptops are a different story and those will run this. Though I've already seen twitter posts from people who'd like to have this shell on their desktops already, so you're clearly not talking about everyone here. And the "mobile" ship hasn't sailed, the "smartphone" ship did. Dual screen and folding devices are a whole new mobile market that no one has really taken control of yet. This is Microsoft vision of Windows, trust me on that. And as far as mobile goes, that ship sailed away for Microsoft. Dual screen and folding devices don't have future. It has no market. Entire market today is saturating around three type of devices, smart phones, PC Desktops, and Raspberry PI like devices. Everything else is poo poo, including tablets. With the exception of your assertion that smartphones being one of the top class of personal computing devices accepted (in fact it is the top, so you are correct there), your other assertions are very much out of touch with reality. Laptops have for a long time been outselling desktops and the market for tablets/convertibles is far and above hobbiest devices like the raspberry pie.
