  1. iOS 14 may let users choose different default browser and mail apps

I hope they do this... It would take away one of my (few) major iOS annoyances.

Looks good! Hope to see it in Release Preview soon! Meanwhile, somewhere deep inside Windows 10, there are still icons dating back to Windows 95! 😂

No thanks. Microsoft knows that they will lose all Windows users to Linux and Mac OS eventually so they are trying to secure that data flow of information they get from Windows 10. If there is such a thing as perfection in creating malware, that would be Windows 10 which by itself is the biggest and the most sophisticated malware software ever created.

  11. Do you know what is cringe? The network configuration. Windows 10 has a modern configuration that doesn't work. It misses practically everything (such as changing the IP). While the old screen (that it has all the functionalities) is hidden in "related configurations". Also View Network Properties = useless screen. What is the point of this screen? 🤷

  13. There are no better icons than icons in Vista far superior to anything we have in Windows 7 let alone garbage called Windows 10. Windows Vista is the most consistent OS ever created, from UI point of view. Let's not even go there, after 5 years Windows 10 UI is a complete joke.

  14. Honestly, MS should focus on converting first the entire OS in the current look and feel of Win 10 instead of polishing a few scrappy anyways icons. It is stupid having a "settings" with the look and feel of Win 10 and the rest of it (control panel, device manager, event viewer, and almost all of it) look like Windows 7!

  15. Tiles being removed completely is the best thing that can happen to Windows. The new icons look decent. Great job MS. You finally listened after 10 years that Tiles POS needed to go.

  16. How many times will they change the icons in Windows 10? It's getting ridiculous. As someone said, they should focus on finishing the migration of many legacy screens to the new UI and instead of continuously updating icons.

I think her doing what she did shows she's more human now. How many people would snap and go down the same path if they went through the same thing? It's interesting and at the least shows just how much things have changed since the supernova hit.

Linux use has grown from one to two percent of desktop/laptop users in the past ten years. It has a long way to go to catch up to Windows.

Is it possible that one stick of RAM is broken? It worked when you only had 8GB right? You should start with testing if the PC boots up fully and properly with one stick (then swap it for the other one in the same slot) so you can rule out if it is a RAM or motherboard problem.

I personally think they could make "Windows Security" in windows 10 way better than it is. They are just scared of being hit with any kind of monopoly on the AV market.

  31. stupid question

I'm not that old yet but I'm getting there (turning 29 this year) and have a Switch Lite. It does have some more adult oriented games unlike previous Nintendo consoles; not many right now but some. It has Witcher 3. It has Saints Row 3 and soon to have 4 as well. I think it has some Resident Evil games. It also has a few more adult Indie games if you search through the store. Nintendo is focused on the gaming aspect so there's not much besides gaming you can do on the console; after backlash they finally added a couple streaming apps but that's about it.

They had similar icons 5 years ago, but they removed them. I forgot which insider build it was. They always looked nicer. https://neowin.s3.amazonaws.com/forum/uploads/monthly_2015_09/Untitled.png.06a05652c8decb943b4b9b1ad0e8a17c.png

  40. Star Trek: Picard (CBS All Access)

I guess we'll agree to disagree. The entire thing cheapens her character. As well as Icheb. What a terrible end to that arc. All in all though, the episode played out okay, felt like the Star Trek I used to watch. I hope we see a bit more of Seven sometime in the Trek Universe again, maybe to redeem herself in a way. Sums it up perfectly:

  49. The advantage of owning a Google-based phone is the great support from XDA Developers. You can always look for a custom image running an unsupported OS and it will generally run smoother than Google's own implementation (I've tested this with Android 6 on Nexus 4, and Android 9 on Nexus 5X, they both ran way better than Android 5.1, and Android 8 respectively). thank you for your informatibe reply! i do wish... there were such options for my 2017 phone. it does not seem to have "official" support for android 10. i suppose this is because of the 835 chipset. which, if the reason, is nonsense. It's the only way for manufacturers to make money. That's one of the reasons why I always hesitate going on with Samsung and their S devices, they barely get any support past 2 years. We have a myriad of devices that could run smoothly on Android 10. The original pixel sports a Snapdragon 821 which is weaker than the 835 and does run Android 10. I did not expect this from, say, Sony. I wish devices had a minimum of at least three years of support. Thank you for pointing out the original Pixel does run Android 10. I am deeply saddened that Google in this sense seems to want to provide better support than that reputable Japanese corporation.
