  1. Mi MIX Alpha out now in select stores in India

I don't think it's foldable at all. It just has a screen that's wrapped around the phone.

So the guy buys the land, get's ###### on for using the land, promises to buy another plot of land and plant trees on that, and you're still ###### on him? This is why nobody should take SJW seriously.

Notice it's Activision Blizzard and Bethesda... Two companies getting a world of crap for their greedy tactics and half-assed game development. The hell with them, honestly.

Wow. I think it may be Star Trek nostalgia, but I found that quite emotional. And I agree, they must have known what they were doing by casting Necar Zadegan.

  12. Tesla allowed to cut down trees for fourth gigafactory

Seems the only reason the court ordered Tesla to pause was so that the complaint could be processed. The forest in question was planted specifically for being harvested, it was not a naturally occurring forest.

  18. Bethesda Softworks is pulling its games from Nvidia's GeForce Now

I laugh every time I hear this. People voting with their wallets doesn't stop anyone else from buying and enjoying the game wherever they feel like, so it affects absolutely nothing. well if people did, then it would work. Companies only care about the bottom line. If you dont buy they dont get money. Simple as that. That's my point. You not buying doesn't mean noone else will. They don't care whether or not you want the product or like the companies business practices.

So because a bad thing happened more than 10 years ago you refuse to buy their things? What, will you dump ASUS and MSI as well? Dude, what the hell. Back off, people are entitled to their opinions of companies. They're also entitled to elementary logic. If you refuse to buy from brands that ever had any faulty products, you'd never buy anything from anyone.

  24. Google is trying to dissuade Edge users from using Chrome extensions

Mines similar, but don't actually use my Gmail for anything but YouTube. i only have chrome installed for google products. And i use Brave on my iPhone to watch youtube only. I dont use their search, or their email. Its not easy to stop using google. But it can be done you just have to change the way you do things. Well Youtube is pretty useless without a Gmail account Why do i need a gmail account to watch youtube? You don't? I can't remember if the app needs to. But as for the web version, you don't have to. For it to be useful, aka recommendations and subscription tracking, yes.

  25. I installed Windows early this week and the option to use a local account was gone. I run my own IT business and install Windows a lot. This was the first I'd seen it. This really puts somebody like me in a bind. Am I supposed to create unique Microsoft accounts for each customer? Am I supposed to set up my own Microsoft account in order to log in and then remove it as it says to do? If I do that will my Microsoft account stay tied to it regardless? What about computers that are set up for children? I'm sure that Microsoft's terms of agreements state that children under a certain age can't sign up for an account. So I'm supposed to use my Microsoft account on a computer that I'd rather not have it tied with? What I plan on doing is to use a service like a tempmail to set up bogus Microsoft accounts continuously, each time I do an install. If everyone who doesn't want to use a Microsoft account in order to own a computer does that Microsoft is going to have a huge number of bogus accounts. Of course I have no idea this will end up in the long run. I suppose I should set up a VM to test with but I just haven't had the time. One thing Microsoft's good at is to make you spend your valuable time trying to learn (a way around) another one of their unintuitive processes.

  26. Microsoft provides more insight into the new Windows 10 icons

Change isn't a problem, but the implementation of change. Now they are doing it so slowly that we have different generations of icon designs in Windows 10 Desktop. They go with gradual approach which has pros and cons. Pros is that the change is not too drastic for users who doesn't like change. Cons is that you introduce perpetual inconsistency everywhere.

  27. And THIS is why I will never use crapjunk 10 from microscrap. It's nothing but malware pushing out constant trackers that has bloatware hidden inside of it. They can take their 10, and shove it for all I care. The once great Microsoft that I remember, no longer exists. It died when XP support ended. MS cares about one thing, and one thing only. $$$$$$$. MS doesn't care about you, or me. They don't care that we've supported them by purchasing their products since DOS 5.0. And by them forcing broken updates on us, it shows US just how much MS really cares about the customer. Here's some really cool information, stop giving them insanely sized paychecks. If the money stops rolling in, I bet you then MS would really listen to its customers.

  28. Anyone remember when you could just easily chose whatever the hell you wanted when installing Windows? Now you have to “trick” the operating system in order to gain some control. A damn shame what has happened to my beloved Windows. Just embarrassing.

  29. Not sure why anyone would be interested in a Samsung which costs 1k + and gives around 1.5 years of support! And not to mention all the bloatware which just hogs down the whole android experience!

  30. Easiest way to get around this is the same as to not get that hot young thing you are with on a drunken Friday night in your local easy-going village pregnant. Pull out. Pull out that... ethernet cord. Set up a local account, then reeeeeeee as soon as you get to the desktop and plug that cord back in. Microsoft want your DNA, they want to know that their baby is yours and you have to make payments for the rest of your natural life.... Damn you Windows, damn you...

  31. As far as being comparable, the OnePlus and Samsung devices are going to be about as close as you're going to get right now I believe unfortunately. As much as I'm invested in the Android ecosystem I may actually consider an i device depending on the price of their next SE model once announced. I'd miss being able to customize my home screen but Apple has come a long way in a lot of other areas in iOS. Yea, I had a Samsung S5 and S7 and it was okay, my Girlfriend had the S8 and it was brutally slow. There was so much Samsung bloat on it it was crazy and the battery was garbage. It has sort of made me leery of Samsung. Beyond that, her S8 had like 1 major Update and was left. I don't want to pay >1000$ for something only supported for 2 years. At least I am not alone in my consideration in moving from Android to iOS pretty much purely due to the device options and support,. Bloat is kind of an overused gripe on most phones. Most of the stuff people call bloat end up being integrated into stock Android 3-4 years later anyway. The reality is, vendor bloat is often the only innovation happening on Android. Yes and no. Samsung having multitasking in phones/tablets years before Google would is innovation. Samsung making a clone of every default app in Android is not though. People would be happy if they could just uninstall the junk they don't want, including but not limited to the stupid carrier apps as well. Agree with your last statement. Though I also honestly don't mind "disabling" apps instead of uninstalling them, too. Some people seem to lose sleep over the storage lost to disabled apps, but the truth is I just don't think it's a realistic scenario anymore to hear someone say their phone is "full". Plus, a disabled app seems to stay disabled through firmware updates, while uninstalled apps just come back. Setting that aside, some replacement apps do make sense. Samsung making their own browser... meh, I'll never use it, though I acknowledge Google's default browser is one of the worst ways to browse the web on a smartphone. It's even more useless than IE, since you can't even joke that at least you can use it to download a replacement. At least Samsung's browser has ad block support. Samsung's email client, though, makes sense to me as a Galaxy Watch user. My watch's email is based on Samsung's email client, so using it gives me a better experience much like using first-party Apple apps make more sense the more invested you are in their hardware. Their music app... eh, well at least you can argue that Android doesn't really have a default music app. Google can't even decide what they want their music app to be anymore. I still use VLC instead, though. And Samsung hasn't been delusional enough to try to make their own maps service happen yet, unlike some mobile competitors. Bixby is.......... annoying, in every respect. But I remind myself that it's not like they were gonna get sanctioned access to OK Google on their watches and other smart devices. What could they have done instead... I have no idea. I'm honestly not a fan of any of the voice services, except to the extent that it's fun to randomly cry out for Alexa like I'm lost and helpless.

  32. Big deal. MS persuades people to use their software with notifications as well. And this is not limited to MS or Google. Lots of companies put out ads and such to persuade people to use their products over the competitors. So a non issue really and users get to decide still in the end.

  33. This is old news. They've been doing this for a month or two, which I discovered awhile back when I tried setting up a new computer. All you need to do is unplug your ethernet and/or disable your wi-fi, type in your local username, then go through the setup until you're past the Q&A asking for email addy, Cortana and other preferences etc., then plug it back in and proceed. Problem solved. (Sorry if someone else posted this workaround!) Have a good day, all.

  41. I'm not sure about macOS, but I believe Google and Apple have always required accounts for phone devices. The issue here is that MS is removing functionality for no reason other than business purposes. It's interesting that this change will only ###### people off. I don't see anyone saying this is a good thing. Another reason this is a bad idea is now this will be a huge hassle if you're trying to create a virtual machine or just install a copy for testing purposes. Neither Google or Apple require accounts for their devices. You can bypass both logins during the initial OOBE.

I guess we'll agree to disagree. The entire thing cheapens her character. As well as Icheb. What a terrible end to that arc. All in all though, the episode played out okay, felt like the Star Trek I used to watch. I hope we see a bit more of Seven sometime in the Trek Universe again, maybe to redeem herself in a way. Sums it up perfectly:

  50. not true; I've been in the beta for a year and love it. I know many others that love it as well. The fact that this uses your existing Steam library makes it a win/win situation for an alternative play option when you're away from your main machine or don't currently have a gaming PC.
