domboy reacted to George P for a topic
I wonder if they'll get the same level of complaint from users like MS does? If they do this it'll be using heavy emulation for any 3rd party apps, they'll probably re-compile their own stuff but MS does that as well. Only time will tell if this even happens but it wouldn't surprise me. This lets them control even more of the hardware and not have to pay intel, it boosts their margins and leaves more money in their pockets.1 point -

Microsoft unveils new specs and features for Xbox Series X
kenhes reacted to George P for a topic
This is what I thought but thing is they never quite tell you what the ingame settings are running at which I suspect would have to be low/medium with a high AA to achieve such a claim. I'd be shocked if it was all high/ultra like we're use to seeing on PC... Only time will tell with console game optimisations Not every game will run at 120fps/hz, I think it'll depend on the game and what the developer is going to do. Still, the option is there for some games at least.1 point -

I'm just going to add a word of caution: I had a Samsung External drive, and the external power failed, so I opened it up, placed the HDD onto my external dock, and the drive was blank, not formatted, but was when it was inside the enclosure. kenhes reacted to George P for a topic
Just need price and release date, I'm with you though, going to jump in. I still think $499 is the price and that they'll take a hit on it and make it back from things like game pass and for sure the more exclusives they're going to be releasing this gen. It wouldn't surprise me if it's $599 though, but Phil also said he's not going to lose on price vs Sony, we'll see.1 point -

Lenovo announces new T-, X-, and L-series ThinkPads with Dolby Vision and OLED screens
MS Bob 11 reacted to dustojnikhummer for a topic
You don’t like x models? Not particularly. I guess there isn't anything wrong with them, but due to the smaller form factor the moment you do anything with them the fan goes nuts. There is a looot wrong with the X series. Soldered memory, non-removable battery etc “Wrong” is subjective. Not in this case. There is no advantage to not having a hotswappable battery and upgradeable memory and storage. You know, things that Lenovo has been killing even on T series Thinkpads...1 point -

I welcome it as well, it's not like they've filled the whole show with f bombs and gore. Besides, what do people realistically expect will happen to a human body when they're blasted by not one but two rifles set to kill? If anything, things are more realistic this way.1 point -
The Xperia 1 II is Sony's first 5G phone with some unique camera features
wingliston reacted to MS Bob 11 for a topic
Too narrow! 71 mm! 😣 I need at least 76mm wide phone. (76mm is acceptable but still too narrow from my old 82mm wide 16:9 ratio LG phablet). 4000 mah is standard now even in budget devices. Flagships need at least 5000 mah. Also, does this phone have Always On Display? When notifications arrive, I don't want to lift the phone or manually turn on the screen to see if something needs my attention. And the AOD should turn off in the pocket or when proximity sensor is covered. All phones are screwing this up lately. 😞 Not sure how I feel about side fingerprint sensor too as I am a leftie as much as I am a rightie. Impressive camera features though. That's the only thing flagships focus on while ignoring other things e.g. ones I mentioned above.1 point -

Ok, in single core performance, as much as AMD is kicking ass, they will continue to be behind Intel for the next year or two. AMD doesn't have a clear win yet, even if the CPUs are really good. Liking a technology is different than liking a hardware company, and as a consumer, AMD isn't your friend, nor is Intel. Are you sure about that? https://static.techspot.com/ar.../1869/bench/CB20_Single.png1 point -

I guess we'll agree to disagree. The entire thing cheapens her character. As well as Icheb. What a terrible end to that arc. Emperion is making a Windows on ARM phone that can run Android apps
Skwerl reacted to Mobius Enigma for a topic
The reasons are less now; however, imagine a phone that doesn't crash, apps don't crash, hardware always works as expected, it designed to be virtually immune to malware, is faster than Android or iOS by up to 2x, and has more advanced hardware and software features, including 3D rendering technologies not available on iOS or Android. Even the last WM10 devices were 1.5-2x faster than Android on the same hardware, and faster than iOS, even with iOS running on a faster SoC. As a platform, Windows is far more stable and solid than users realize, especially when not automatically invoking the native Win32 subsystem.1 point -
