"There will not be any 5G support, so with the addition of last year's chipset, it's already falling short of current flagship smartphones." Is no 5G really that big a deal? I would expect people to buy this for the dual-screen, not because they're looking for a 5G phone. I'd expect by the time 5G is must-have a 5G version will be available...4 points -

hating on stores is ridiculous nonsense. So is paying for timed exclusives taking away customer choice, while also ignoring basic improvements to your platform to actually make it competitive. At this point, Epic isn't small small company struggling to get by. Yet, they're being outpaced by smarter companies like CDPR, while Steam continually spits out regular updates and refinements. Both of these platforms are adding something for PC gamers, along with Microsoft's Game Pass. If PC gamers were against other stores in general, then these other platforms wouldn't be prospering either...4 points -

I never thought Cortana was anything more than a response to Siri and Hey Google. I never got the impression that MS was really serious about building up that product. Just a pacifier for MS fans who hoped MS would actually build a phone. When the new CEO came in, he put the kibosh on all of that.2 points -

The FAA EIS for LC-39A's DOD National Security Space Launch 2 upgrades is out; pad upgrades including a HUGE Mobile Service Structure, and Falcon Heavy's NSSL Category 3 fairing. FAA LC-39A EIS...(PDF) LC-39A's MSS will be a clamshell affair, capable of fully enclosing F9/FH and withstanding a Category 5 hurricane. And the new NSSL Categoty 3 fairing will be wider and longer, Current: 5.2 x 13.1 meters (17 x 43 feet) Category 3: 5.4 x 18.6 meters (17.7 x 61 feet) This should stretch Falcon Heavy from 70 meters (229 feet) to 75 meters (247 feet) Friggin' BEAST 😎2 points -

Nogib and one other reacted to +EvilWalnut for a topic
I believe these companies have a choice between 1. allow free speech and be protected by Section 230, or 2. moderate/censor content and be considered a publisher (not protected by 230). Youtube chose to censor content, so the law sees them as a publisher (and not a public platform). Companies like Youtube who opt to moderate (and give up section 230) can be sued for content users post on their site. To me, this seems like Youtube has the "convenience" to choose either of those since they have so much money, and their perceived cost of choosing to moderate and censor content while defending lawsuits is more profitable than allowing all content and being protected from lawsuits.2 points -

Court: YouTube not bound by U.S. First Amendment
Emn1ty reacted to dead.cell for a topic
Curious, does that mean YouTube can be sued and fined for users' content instead of the users directly, in regards to COPPA (setting videos to for kids/not for kids). Before, the FTC made it sound like users would directly be fined, but now it seems like YouTube is putting itself at the front now so users don't get sued? Pretty sure that YouTube would also have a reasonable amount of time to act on inappropriate content being hosted on its platform, it doesn't seem unreasonable to hold YouTube to account if it fails in this. You do not want to go down this route. The end result would is that either forums like Neowin would have to allow spam in every single forum, or risk getting sued for any user content uploaded. Even for little things, like copyrighted images in the forums, memes, user images, etc... "forums like Neowin would have to allow spam in every single forum..." We've consolidated over the years, all our spam now falls into a single thread about an orange guy in a suit.1 point -

you need to know why they got sued... it has nothing to do with copyright. if they dont like your message be it scientific, fact or not... youtube will censor it. conservative outlets has always been on the receiving end. It's not just conservative outlets that are on the receiving end, there are plenty of LGBTQ groups furious for the censorship they've pushed. You guys need to stop playing the "woe, it's only me" card.1 point -
