Hoarding toilet paper?
Shannon B and 4 others reacted to Bobslay for a topic
OK, pointless discussion on the web #6,456 but here we go. You were the one who said hoarding toilet paper made sense and people shouldn't mock it. The thing that we are all mocking is the fact that people are prioritizing toilet paper as the number one thing they can't live without if they are isolated. That's the item stores are running out of, not food, not water. I can't live without food or water, neither can you. I can live without toilet paper, I'd prefer not to but if I had none I wouldn't die. So, you have to ask yourself why people have chosen this one item? The reason is because they are being told my media, their friends, that people are bulk buying it so others do too because "that must be a good idea". It's not a good idea, that's why people are mocking it. If people were panic buying everything (which, if they believe Armageddon is coming, they should) then we wouldn't be hearing/seeing the toilet roll famine of 2020.5 points -

UI Fabric, Fluent UI, Stardust.... Fluent UI is the only one I've even heard of, and I have zero idea how any of them relate to each other. Pretty sure that's Microsoft's fault, not mine.4 points -

If what they are trying to do with flight sim pays off it could mean big things for future games and how big they make game worlds going forward. Heck, the end goal would be for a game to actually have a real sized city and not these smaller ones.2 points -

Coronavirus scares have propelled companies like Samsung to ham out! The gimmicks are par for the course for corporations during lethal pandemics, aren't they! The novel coronavirus (covid-19) has notoriously caused a Samsung assembling plant in Korea to shut down. As seen on a tracker online, where they managed to engineer AI based technology to oversee the spread of reported cases worldwide, Korea is dead center in the heart of the pandemic. As such, Samsung is trying to quell apprehensions from people buying their product. The tracker which had engineered the AI, also warned of a ballooning projection. Safe to say, Samsung is trying to make light of the entire issue. ~Vibhor Tyagi (Techie at Engineer.AI)2 points -

Sounds good. Too many tech companies get away with planned and forced obsolescence under the name of "progress". It should be up to the user to decide if he wants to continue using repaired device without new features or upgrade because he wants new features, and not because the older one cannot be repaired.2 points -

Hoarding toilet paper?
Shannon B reacted to Bobslay for a topic
The issue is that people are only hoarding toilet paper because they are told everyone else is. Water, canned food, dried food would all seem like more logical things to hoard but the herd have decided toilet paper is the one thing you can't live without!?1 point -

That should have been the slogan for stadia : “coming soon” i think google made a terrible mistake on prematurely launching stadia before it was ready and frankly I think it’s too late for them now. My system was able to install and reboot within a minute. Your system taking longer then a minute to install this patch seems to indicate there is more issues with your system. It certainly should not take 5 minutes to install this patch even on a system with a traditional mechanical HDD.1 point -

I'd prefer a remake to Witcher 1 with updated controls. I want to play Witcher 1 so bad to get the full story of the 3 games but the dated control scheme just makes it a ###### play. I'd watch a playthrough but the Witcher games are so long I'd rather experience them myself then sit and watch someone else play.1 point -
