  3. Mozilla set to remove FTP support from Firefox

Let me guess: “Too complicated to maintain” = “insecure” = feature removed. For the benefit of the users, of course... So when you're too lazy to continue supporting something, just call it “insecure” and call it a day.

  10. Over 40 demos for upcoming games go free on Steam for the weekend

These are mostly demos for games coming this summer or later. Steam is helping the devs get exposure because the events are cancelled, no one can play the demos at their booths. Usually the public wouldn't see these demos as they potentially have bugs or still a work in progress and features are subject to change.

  16. Mozilla set to remove FTP support from Firefox

Yes, those sprawling masses of users that somehow both still care about FTP and insist on using a web browser for it. Oh how they overwhelm us. Lo, see how toward horizon they do stretch.

  17. Mozilla set to remove FTP support from Firefox

I thought they had already pulled support but I must be thinking of Chrome. There's really no reason to have FTP support inside a browser anymore. Like the article states, it's a security concern. If you really need to access an FTP it's better to use a dedicated client. Plus unsecured FTP really should be avoided now a days anyway, better to use FTPS or sFTP for an encrypted connection which the browsers didn't support anyway I don't believe.

  22. Android Advanced Protection now limits non-Play Store app installs

This would be better if they could secure the Play Store Apps that are full of malware, or that get malware through man in the middle attacks when installed. (A bug that has been in Android and Play Store since 2009.) Seriously, how is this helpful? It 'looks' better than it is, as most malware is delivered through the Store and trusted Apps. There are major Play Store App Malware stories almost every day. XYZ infected 2 millions users - ABCD infected 10 million users - etc.

  36. Android Advanced Protection now limits non-Play Store app installs

Oh screw off, Android is not iOS. Correct. It’s a cesspool of malware instead due to haphazard installation policies and loose permissions. The store itself is just as guilty. i really dislike all of the attacks i am receiving. i didn't mean that it should be completely mandatory ... not even i would want that ( having recently sideloaded apps ). the article itself says that people can withdraw ... jeez, people. get real.

  37. Mozilla set to remove FTP support from Firefox

The problem is not that it's not too complicated to maintain. It plainly is insecure because it is not encrypted. Just as HTTP is and the whole industry is trying to switch to HTTPS. There are safer alternatives to FTP.

  43. Recently I have got a Dell XPS 13, with only usb-c ports. And I must say I find it quite practical, you can get a single dongle that is a hub with any port you need: usb, ethernet, display port, hdmi, card reader, etc. Whatever you need in a single gadget. I think that's perfectly acceptable for the ultraportable lines, such as Air or standard Macbook or whatever they are these days. I just think the 'Pro' line should continue to have more IO for people that need it. There's no point crippling the entire lineup. If I buy a laptop for work it needs at least a reasonable amount of io/connectivity. Current range of Pros are just toys in that regard and its a shame as I used to love my MBPs. Keyboard aside, the build quality of them has been top tier for years. Shame there's not really a truly 'pro' line anymore. You determine a line to be pro by i/o? 🤨 I agree it’s not ideal but something like this goes a long way to help. https://www.amazon.com/Anker-U...584285743&sr=8-17" rel="external nofollow">https://www.amazon.com/Anker-U...584285743&sr=8-17" rel="external nofollow">https://www.amazon.com/Anker-U...584285743&sr=8-17" rel="external nofollow">https://www.amazon.com/Anker-U...584285743&sr=8-17" rel="external nofollow">https://www.amazon.com/Anker-U...584285743&sr=8-17" rel="external nofollow">https://www.amazon.com/Anker-U...584285743&sr=8-17" rel="external nofollow">https://www.amazon.com/Anker-U...584285743&sr=8-17" rel="external nofollow">https://www.amazon.com/Anker-U...584285743&sr=8-17" rel="external nofollow">https://www.amazon.com/Anker-U...qid=1584285743&sr=8-17" rel="external nofollow">https://www.amazon.com/Anker-U...584285743&sr=8-17" rel="external nofollow">https://www.amazon.com/Anker-U...584285743&sr=8-17" rel="external nofollow">https://www.amazon.com/Anker-U...584285743&sr=8-17" rel="external nofollow">https://www.amazon.com/Anker-U...584285743&sr=8-17" rel="external nofollow">https://www.amazon.com/Anker-U...584285743&sr=8-17" rel="external nofollow">https://www.amazon.com/Anker-U...584285743&sr=8-17" rel="external nofollow">https://www.amazon.com/Anker-U...584285743&sr=8-17" rel="external nofollow">https://www.amazon.com/Anker-U...qid=1584285743&sr=8-17" rel="external nofollow">https://www.amazon.com/Anker-U...584285743&sr=8-17" rel="external nofollow">https://www.amazon.com/Anker-U...584285743&sr=8-17" rel="external nofollow">https://www.amazon.com/Anker-U...qid=1584285743&sr=8-17" rel="external nofollow">https://www.amazon.com/Anker-U...;qid=1584285743&sr=8-17 Disclaimer: this will not turn a laptop into a pro machine. You *don't* determine a line to be Pro by features like that? They need things that differentiate it from the ultraportable line. Currently their 'pro' line seems to be a slightly fatter heavier version of their non 'Pro' line with few to none of the redeeming features to make it worth it. Why even bother. So yeah, many 'Pros' need IO out of a machine. Ultraportable has a usecase, so does a 'pro' targeted machine. Their current line is aimed at the 'Pro' market in name only, really. As I said I used to love macbooks and used them for years. Now they're replacing those really terrible keyboards, really i'm just hoping for a revised pro machine with more IO. Don't really want to have to deal with dongles unless it's an ultraportable. No I certainly don’t determine a pro machine by it’s i/o when it can be expanded by dongle, even if not ideal. Im sure some “Pros” need I/O, but many do not as well. So it’s not a good measure IMO. Then youre buying into marketing. Well done. Next thing you will do is call me an Apple fanboy. 🤣 Your own words.... Yep. And you have not failed to disappoint by implying that very thing. You must new here. Or ignorant. Or both.

  49. Are you implying it is 'down' a lot or more than other services? If so, do I have some bad information for you. Should we start with Google or Sony in comparison to XBox Live? They both look like jokes in terms of capacity, and uptime - and that isn't even getting into networks being attack or down due to malware for literally MONTHS. There are plenty of things to pick on XBox or xCloud - but when you pick the thing it does better than any other services in the history of the internet, you are trolling at best.
