  5. Facebook removes multiple white supremacist accounts, groups, and pages

White nationalists want to exclude people from society simply based on their skin colour/ethnic origin, often with violence. Anti religious people mostly just believe that religion promotes harmful and outdated views that should be opposed. There's a difference between being a bigot an holding an opinion that so many fash just don't seem to comprehend.

If you are aware of such groups/pages, then YOU can do something. YOU can report it, and YOU can convince others to also report it. If FB doesn't get complaints they won't act. If they do receive complaints and don't act, feel free to call them out. If they don't act in a way you don't like, feel free to not use their services.

  8. Facebook removes multiple white supremacist accounts, groups, and pages

While I get your point, this isn't censorship. This is a private company not giving a platform to hate groups, ones that clearly go against it's published acceptable use policy. It is legal censorship done by a private company. Some actions keep their definitions independently from the legal point or who commits it. Justice system is like that i.e. operating on “two wrongs make a right” model i.e. delivering punishments i.e. doing bad things to criminals for their crimes. Companies and people are fully capable in restricting freedoms of others without government's help. So you have no idea how the 1st Amendment and Censorship work. Thanks.

  9. What? It says right there in the article that the developer retains IP ownership. Apparently all epic is doing here is funding a game and in return getting half the profit. Remedy can publish an Alan wake game with epic, if they agreed to fund it, that is.

  12. Netflix is currently down, mostly in Europe and the U.S.

Yesterday evening I contemplated watching a download copy of Better Call Saul in 1080p because of this cutting back to SD bullcrap .. but I checked Netflix first anyway and was pleasantly surprised to get the latest episode in UltraHD 4K. I don't watch a lot of Netflix, but I am not going to go on there to watch content in SD thank you very much. Oh and I also don't like being made to feel guilty at the "strain" of the network after the years of vast expense I pay to enjoy all of this content online, if the providers prefer to pay out shareholders before updating their infrastructure to cope with demand then that is not on me.

  15. Microsoft releases Windows 10 build 19041.172 to the Slow ring

Given the covid-19 drama, you would think people would get out of a beta testing ring....unless they are doin as advised and not running on production machines. Or at the very least, dual boot or run in a VM.

  17. 5700xt was if i chosen to do a whole system upgrade, which i decided against at this time, as Intel I7 7700, still a great processsor, still meets my needs, 2060 Super should get me thru a few more years, ((as no idea how long it will take to save for a future upgrade of CPU/Motherboard, and that stuff at this time)) Think will go for 2060 Super once money arrives, get it ordered, installed, and should be fine with it for a while i think

  18. Yeah well i can up the budget a bit if need be probably, just have to see what the card prices are when the money arrives, and go from there think is best. Do have $150.00 Amazon gift card left as well from birthday that i haven't spent yet. So might have that cover some of whatever card pick, probably EVGA some model i think at this point, may up the budget to $400, but yeah gonna pick something good in the end, that i'll be happy with

  24. I thought that's Control and Alan Wake. Do people think Quantum Break is in the same universe too? It's not a matter of "people think", there's a TV in QB that you can turn on and watch a interview with Alan Wake on what looks like a talk show. There are some other Alan Wake easter eggs in QB to iirc but it's been so long since I played it. I also think there's some Max Payne easter eggs. Check this video out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZD6tw41ZHN0

  28. While I would love for the hardware, firmware, and software sources to be made available, since it would boost development by a lot (which could mean that, in this case, AMD products could theoretically get to the point that NVidia would be looking at the dust trails left by AMD, both in performance and stability), it is not something that is done lightly, since other companies could use that information to get ahead of (in this case) AMD, and thus seriously harm AMD's marketshare.

  30. Thing is, you still have 4K. But at lower bitrates. Yes, it sucks, I agree. I'm just saying, Netflix can use this argument as defense against these types of complaints. Ok so let say for example they say after all this, let's keep this bitrate and charge customers the same? Would you be ok with that? This goes to both you and @Steve121178 [Junk] I paid for a particular service, I expect that service. If the product changes for the better or worse then I'm happy to pay accordingly. I don't keep going to a restaurant every week expecting the same meal for the same price and all of a sudden they remove the sides but keep the price the same. I don't want to hear their excuses about the flu v2.0. They have the bandwidth, counties/ISPs have it too. If not, then they should upgrade their equipment/backhaul. This is just a knee jerk reaction to save a couple of bucks, plain and simple. Same as Facebook and YouTube etc.

  34. Solar Power finally kicked off today.

So day 1 was 27.91 kwh total, day 2 37.61 And comed data for first day showed up on site finally... They are normally 24 to 48 hours behind.. And looks like made 8 kwh more than used for day 1.. So that is a credit to my account.. Will give me something to keep an eye on during this lock down that is for sure.. Already started a spreadsheet to track day to day trends 😉 Here is graph from first 2 days of production. You can see where the clouds came in and cut production.. Since the shape of the curve changes... Cloudy days are not only going to be gloomy now, they are going to be costing me money 😉

  36. COVID Symptom Tracker due for U.S. launch on Thursday

If you haven't already, buy a pulse oximeter, and a basal thermometer OR a liquid non-electric thermometer (be extra careful not to break it if you buy a mercury based thermometer, mercury is a serious health hazard). Pulse oximeters show your blood oxygen level (SpO2) which will go down gradually for symptomatic COVID-19 cases. So establish your baseline and then check it twice a day from there to track if it starts going down. Basal thermometers are advertised for use by women who are trying to get pregnant, but they are also suitable for both men and women for tracking body temperature changes as it relates to illness. The reason I recommend them over regular body thermometers is they have four digits (ex, 97.35 F) and thus are calibrated to be more accurate than regular 3 digit digital thermometers (ex, 97.3 F). Most digital thermometers, including the expensive ones, are total crap. A margin of error of often 0.4 F or more. I'd also recommend a cheap stethoscope and blood pressure monitor. Hospitals are likely to be overloaded in many countries and you may not be able to get care from a medical professional for problems triaged to be less important than pneumonia. So it would be wise to have these items to check out things yourself and be more readily able to report physiological change. Find / buy / whatever eBooks and/or physical books that are written for field emergency care, prepper medicine, or otherwise medical textbooks that are written with nomenclature for students rather than experienced doctors and nurses. You may have to take care of yourself and your loved ones in the event you cannot get help from an actual doctor. Hospitals will have to deny care to people out of necessity soon (triage).

  37. Configure server firewall to allow remote connections?

Not in the least would be my opinion from what have seen. Yeah would make sense if he set that mess up 😉 I might be able to find some time to remote in and fix it up.. Not like any of us our about town these days 😉 if you don't have a problem with that... Let me know, @sc302 has been known to fix up users systems remotely as well.. He is guru for sure.. One of the few people around here I would trust to touch my systems even.. He might even be better because unless something has changed, he deals with windows systems day to day.. While I don't - more on the security and network side for many years. I still tinker in my lab and such, and consult when they run into ###### they can't figure out at work 😉 hehehe... All I would ask is maybe you donate what you feel appropriate to a good cause of your choosing.. Non religious based would be my only stipulation 😉

Agreed they can **** right off with their network cannot cope ######. If a network can't cope then there should be a law that the government should get all the business minus any debts including all profits and can spend that on making the infrastructure not suck. I pay for BT at 2 locations, same price, I get 55Mbit down at one and 16Mbit down if I'm lucky at the other... 'oh it is your distance from the exchange' they fob me off with on support tickets, my neighbour gets 33Mbit and his socket is about 3 meters away from mine.

  41. There's no need to remove tablet mode, the above change isn't to tablet mode anyways. It's a small tweak to the desktop when you switch to touch only by taking your kb+mouse/touchpad off your 2-in-1 device. And app snapping is just a evolution of stuff that's been around since Windows 7 or maybe even Vista. Why remove it? You can use it on your desktop without issue if you want to set apps side by side or 4x4 etc.

  42. I was severely disappointed by the game. Severe ammo management (you get 24 shotgun ammo at max ammo upgrades) and platforming have no place in a Doom game (imo). And as if that wasn't enough they designed the game in a way where you have to play specifically how they want you to which means if you didn't choose the right upgrade (you picked micro missile instead of zoom? Good luck taking out those weak spots) at the right time then the game is unnecessarily tough (I was already playing on one of the higher difficulties). And then to top of it all off the story didn't add anything to the game just like I thought wouldn't. It was just irritating and got in the way. People keep telling me "it gets good later" but my reply to that is why should I suffer through hours of tedious game play to get to the good parts? That's horrible game design. I refunded it after about 3 hours and I know I'm not the only one that did so. tldr; there is too much ###### in between you and demon slaying and the pacing is inconsistent which makes the game a slog
