  1. SpaceX rival, OneWeb, files for bankruptcy due to COVID-19

I understand that the current issues migh eventually bankrupt a lot of companies. However, probably a fair number will use it as an excuse to file for bankrupcy, get out of some payments, and eventually buy the same assets under a different corporation...

Yes you can see, you have to do it from a cmd prompt.. run the cmd first so you get the pretty box.. How is people don't know how to get a cmd prompt? click windowkey + r you get the run box In that pretty black box you get, then do the netsh wlan show interfaces

  4. Wifi vs wired connection

Well then yeah your never ever going to get 100, and to be honest 50 seems unlikely at that connection rate.. That would be 69% of phy... that would be stars are all aligned sort of thing... You maybe rounded up that you got 50.. Or maybe your bouncing about on your connection and had something a bit higher etc.. What is the specific wifi card? Is prob an N card, only doing 1 stream... So yeah Your limited.. Get new card, or a usb stick for it... you can get cheap little sticks that can do AC.. something like this, tiny little thing that you will barely notice sticking out https://www.amazon.com/Edimax-Adapter-Supports-MU-MIMO-EW-7822ULC/dp/B01MY7PL10 $20 should be able to do your 100mbps internet.. I have one of their older models for my wifes old laptop that got back in 2015 that still works.. 72% you sure your not looking at signal strength... It would say the speed not a %

  6. What's baffling, this isn't something new. It's amazing how ignorant and clueless people are on this matter. Everyone outraged for this one app for some reason. Guess what, ALL apps on app stores are riddled with this garbage. Facebook Graph, Facebook Connect, Google Analytics, Google Crashlytics and bunch of other analytics and telemetry components in apps and no one states anything about their presence or any control over it to turn it off. It's just there, hidden in basically all apps and people simply don't know about it. Where is outrage for the rest of them? Eh? If you run Blokada on Android or Disconnect Privacy Pro and you'll be amazed how much of this crap tries to call "home" from all the apps we use. I have NextDNS blocking setup on my devices and the amount of blocked junk is insane. All my logs are filled with Google and Facebook and I don't even use ANYTHING from EITHER. That's insane and shouldn't exist. I'm amazed how loud Apple is about privacy and constantly dictates how things should be done on their app store yet don't care about the analytics and telemetry crap in all apps hosted on App Store. Basically no app gives control over this and most don't even state whether they have such components. And even if they do, it's not like you have any options when all of them have this junk inside.

That is not a net card, that is a usb dongle - yeah it will work with anything! 😉 So you ordered that and not the internal card - then sure you will be fine. The link to your laptop, specs don't list any usb ports at all?? WTF?? Then no that dongle wouldn't work - hehehe Ok there something odd on there page, it lists this 1 x COMBO audio jack 1 x VGA port/Mini D-sub 15-pin for external monitor 2 x 1 x RJ45 LAN jack for LAN insert 1 x HDMI Take it the 2 x is the usb ports, since in the gallery I see 2.. So yeah you should be good as long as those ports are not being used by something else by you.

  11. Nice review. This is better than a dual screen device. You can convert it as per your wish. But as you stated, they really need to fix a few things: notch, bulky dual screen, proprietary charger, main screen as controller, 3rd party keyboards, other software stuff and you have a winner with a saner price.

  12. I didn't understand the amd GPU part when I read it, what exactly did they steal? Hardware secrets? VHDL code? Test fixture? Test script? Part of their open source linux driver? Part of their closed source windows driver? I mean the person trying to blackmail them is a bit of an idiot really, assuming it's driver code then it's closely tied to the hardware, no other company is really going to pay money for something that's completely useless to them, they can just run the code through IDA if they wanted to know that.

Hope you validated that card will work in your actual laptop! That was just meant as an example. oh that is faststone capture... used it for years, slick little piece of software.. I use it daily to be sure.. Well worth the $20 lifetime... https://www.faststone.org/FSCaptureDetail.htm Does all kinds of neat stuff... I use it for manipulation of all kinds of images as well.. resizing images for use in say mp3 cover art. Or for plex stuff. Big feature I like is the ability to take scrolling screenshots, or and joining images to together.. Highly recommend... I have been using it since like forever, it use to be freeware 😉 But went pay many years ago (2007 I think), and was well worth the cost.

  14. Disney+ on Edge = Error 83?

Not necessarily. I do not think it has been pushed out to everyone through automatic updates. Both my desktop and notebook still have EdgeHTML. Obviously you can download/install the chromium powered Edge manually. https://blogs.windows.com/msedgedev/2020/01/15/upgrading-new-microsoft-edge-79-chromium/ https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge Edit: Just tried Disney+ with Edge and didn't have any issue. So...I dunno. If you have any extensions ... disable them. Have you tried to load it with "InPrivate Window"

  16. OPPO Find X2 Pro review: beautiful, fast, and expensive

If it's like some other handsets that have 90Hz/120Hz, games may still be forced to run at 60Hz even when the higher refresh rate is enabled, or may need per-app options to enable it. Check with an fps counter if the games were indeed running in the preferred refresh rate.

  17. Wifi vs wired connection

Ah I think I see your problem, seems I reversed it when I typed it out, if you copied paste vs looking in the image I posted with the output.. Then yeah it makes sense.. Sorry about that! Its wlan show, not show wlan 😉 So you going to get new card? New laptop? Usb stick? On a PC - why would you not wire that! 😉 Not like you moving the pc about the place all the time is it 😉

  19. Disney+ on Edge = Error 83?

I was thinking about making a snide - and probably outdated, now - comment about Edge in the first post. But isn't it based on Chromium now? So there should be no difference between them, other than any extensions you may have installed which you pointed out are disabled for the moment.

If you've disabled your firewalls and everything then the servers are overloaded. Understandable at this point, you just need to keep trying.

If Leonard McCoy is anything to go by (last seen at age 137 in TNG) Picard's natural lifespan should last another 40 years. 😄 Not sure if Patrick has the energy for that, although he is only 14 years behind his character and still going strong.

Hard to justify spending money on non essentials when a recession is probably coming. The best part is that the US was a couple of years away from a recession, this has definitely accelerated the process. That 2 trillion bill is not going to come cheap.

  29. Star Trek: Picard (CBS All Access)

I think the Borg ship shouldn't have been crashed in the first place. It's been well established that one Borg ship is a colossal power against any races fleet of starships. The Artifact is a half broken ship so that gives the writers leeway to gimp the power level as they see fit. It's still kind of silly that the flower things could take down the Artifact but I digress. It could have been left in orbit and the story doesn't play out much different. The Romulans show up. The cube is just powerful enough to buy time. The Romulans cause enough damage to the cube to result in crashing to the planet. Same end result without having to use a deus ex machina device.

  31. Wifi vs wired connection

So something like this could work https://www.amazon.com/710661-001-Intel-Wireless-ac-7260-Pci-express/dp/B00PDLCFL8 This would be a replacement internal card that could do AC.. Keep in mind you need to validate it will work with your laptop.. Some makers blacklist in bios, but quick google shows that should work with HP laptops..

  32. Wifi vs wired connection

ok lets do it this way so sure we are looking at the same thing.. from cmd prompt do a netsh show wlan all from there you will get a bunch of info - find the info for your connection and it will show you both your RX and TX connection rates.. Post a screenshot of that - hide your SSID if you want I have a hard time buying that your getting 70% for your connection if your PHY is only 72.. That would be unheard off.. This info will also show us if your N or ac.. and can tell from the channel if your on 2.4 or 5ghz... netsh wlan show interfaces Might be easier - less info!!
