T-Mobile is already deploying Sprint's 2.5GHz 5G in Philadelphia

I doubt that GSM and CDMA network can work together.... never see anything like it if this can happen. LTE is a GSM technology, Verizon and Sprint have supported GSM since LTE and have been slowly depreciating the CDMA side. As far as I'm aware it's just a matter of adjusting the frequencies the towers put out and the whitelist or whatever it would be called for the SIMs to use them as more than just roaming towers.2 points -

This takeover never made any sense, Xerox was going to come out of it with huge debt all so a few of it's board members could get rich off of HP stock and would also have to chop up HP and sell it to make some money back.2 points -

lol @ personal care products. But I think you are right. With so many seemingly new players in the game, they have not much of a track record to stand on. On the plus side, it's good you can get really good earbuds for not a lot of money. On the story though, are these new buds going to be TWS or like the first Bullet model? Today is World Backup Day: Don't put it off, backup your data today
+Warwagon reacted to ThaCrip for a topic
I've had customer's "Backup" their data to an external hard drive then because it's been put "On the backup drive", delete the copies on their PC. At which point I scold them and tell them why that is a horrible practice. I talked to one guy about his QuickBooks. He hadn't backed up to a usb flash drive in about 6 months. Did I ask him why? He said "Because I think it's backing it up online for me? i said, "You think?" "YOU THINK!!!?!?!?!?!?!" i said you should "KNOW!!!!" it's getting backed up. The Mac he had wasn't recognizing his flash drive at that moment to do a backup and the mac was moving really slow. It was so bad he had to hold the power button down just to turn it off. Then He couldn't turn it back on. He took it into someone because his screen was also broken (and I don't do mac screen replacements) , he had been using an external screen. So we couldn't see anything. Turns out, his internal flash based storage went bad. His QuickBooks was in fact NOT getting backed up online. He then had to send the computer into a company for data recovery. Not sure how that ever turned out. Yeah, it's a wonder people don't even get that very basic stuff you mentioned with backing up to a external hard drive and then deleting their main copy on their PC's hard drive which only leaves them with one copy of the data which, as you already know, raises there risk of data loss quite a bit as all it's going to take is something minor to happen and there data is shot. because the only thing they did was transfer data from one hard drive to another. it's almost like they think just because the external hard drive is only turned on occasionally it probably won't fail on them (it's like they have this false sense of security because it's external and only used briefly once in a while). but they broke the cardinal rule of two copies in total on two difference devices at the bare minimum standard as this, as you already know, does not take much effort and lowers the chance of permanent data loss quite a bit. it's not fool proof but it's pretty much the sweet spot of keeping ones effort minimal and giving one a reasonable level of protection against data loss. I figure once someone opts for professional data recovery, they are probably screwed at that point. even if they get their data back, it's probably going to cost a arm and a leg which that $ could have been used to buy another hard drive which you could have used to backup the data in the first place. then you factor in ones time lost having to send the drive in to the data recovery service etc. it's just a chore. while flash drives are okay for temporary storage, I would not trust them for long term data backup personally as they seem too volatile (as in working great one minute but could completely die out-of-the-blue) as I want something more reliable like HDD or DVD as your probably more likely to get some warning before those are totally shot etc.1 point -
Google officially stops selling the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL

Please, spacelordmaster - which Samsung phone are you bragging on? I came from the S7 to my 3a - and lost nothing feature wise - and gained faster wired charging, faster performance in most applications and games; it even imported my voice from Bixby. (It uses it better than Bixby did, too.) Same with the fingerprint lock. I don't understand this comment. Sorry. I'm just still using the Pixel 3 I bought back when it was new, and still being sold. margrave - I was asking about his dissing the Pixel 3a and 3aXL. I have the 3a myself (and have had it since July of 2019). It has been a VERY solid phone, and was also a solid upgrade from the S7 it replaced. I lost exactly nothing from the S7 that I used, but gained quite a bit. I gained faster wired charging, faster application performance, faster gaming performance, and even faster voice performance over Bixby.1 point -

They don't have wireless adapters for Macs? The rest of the stuff is pretty standard. We're keeping our office open for people who need to get away from the kids (or wife) or even just out of the house. And yes, we dress professionally at home still (at least shirt/pants/hygiene) because we have morning conferences. These actually are keeping us sane, vs. feeling completely disconnected... Not sure what he is on about. iMacs have built in WiFi. Maybe it’s a security policy or something.1 point -

"Although Apple promised to pay employees while they are not working, some workers informed Bloomberg that they were being urged by their managers to participate in the program" This is what I don't get, the company is paying you, why do you think you deserve a free holiday to get paid and do literally nothing? Same story in the UK, people will be getting 80% of their wage paid for by the government and not working which is fine to me, but then you get these ungrateful that are not staying at home or think it's a holiday to go and do whatever they please with... No, it's a pandemic emergency, follow the rules, and if your company is still paying you and they ask you to do something within your job role that's safe to do - FROM HOME, what valid reason do they have not to do it?1 point -

I hope Apple integrates Dark Sky's broad set of features into the native Weather apps across the iOS ecosystems. Dark Sky is a badly-written app, though, as I never liked its performance... if it's rewritten more 'natively' then i'm sure it'll be an awesome upgrade for Apple's standard weather app... or a nice "premium" feature to goose up Apple's subscription revenues.1 point -

Microsoft Edge is getting vertical tabs, Password Monitor, and more
wotsit reacted to Mobius Enigma for a topic
Tabs aside is 'collections' You can save all your open tabs in a window to a new or existing collection. Tab reviews is weird cause it is in Chrome for ages. Don't know why it is not in Edge. I want that custom background for the new tab page they have been talking about 'coming september 2019' Probably because it's NOT in Chromium by default. OR if it IS in chromium by default, Microsoft may have removed it initially to build in other Edge features. Chrome's Tab preview is a trash implementation. Not stable, uses alternative rendering crap, show and doesn't offer real-time functionality, making it significantly less useful. Microsoft wants a seamless rendering implementation like EdgeHTML; however, this is hard to tap into without a consistent OS accessible composer, which is a problem outside Windows and osx.1 point -
