I'm guessing there's no decent reason. I'm sure the hardware can handle the HD streams just fine.

  7. I'd also donate 1 BILLION DOLLAS if that represented only 28% of my net worth... I guess it's a good cause, but just shows how ######ing poor we all are when these people can just shell out that kind of money literally "just like that". And make an amazing publicity stunt while doing it. Basically win-win.

  8. Panos Panay shares first photo taken with the Surface Duo

After inspecting the element, and finding the highest quality version I can find, the image is not all that good. Granted the res of the image is 1080x1350 that I got, but you can see obvious blurring in the image that happened while the photo was being taken. The camera is fair at best, based on this image. 9. Panos Panay shares first photo taken with the Surface Duo

It's a well lit room, which most modern smartphones are quite good at. The chair in the background is quite blurry, which is really odd. I'd like to see more photos in different conditions, and also in full resolution out of the device.

  10. Google should have a pixel OS layer updated by Google directly and the OEMS their separate layer for skinning that can be easily removed if there are no updates after 2 years. Leaving the user with a pixel-esque phone still updated by Google one or 2 years more.

  11. Surely it would be more energy efficient to not have to have the entirety of borderlands 3 loaded to play this minigame, I know they'll be wanting to increase their player count stats but I would hope they'd look at releasing a stand alone version of it.

  13. I'd rather publishers like 2K just allow their games to be played on Nvidia Geforce Now again. So stupid that they're refusing to allow their games to be played through there; it's just using a VDI like experience to launch from Steam and the like. I'd rather not have to purchase already owned games AGAIN just to stream them ...

  18. Microsoft is making a store for Xbox Game Bar widgets

Huh? I was thinking I just saw a report that they ditched UWP for Electron... That was Skype, which I don't know why since Electron is bulky and slow and so on. The Xbox (beta), the one you use for Game Pass on PC etc, used to be Electron but now it's using React Native. It went from around 300MB in size to 60MB from the change alone. And it's gain a good chunk of performance in the process.

  22. You can now ask Samsung's Bixby to play Netflix movies and series

bah... anyone even uses Bixby? I mean who uses it for real? I allready don't feel the need to use Assistant and Alexa, but if i wanted an assistant, i would certainly use them rather then Bixby. I have to say the marketing push with the dedicated Bixby button back when the assistant was real crap (not sure how it is not) is what made me despise it forever, basically having the opposite effect then they hoped. i did everything in my power to disable that button as it was so easy to press accidentally. What a screw up.

anyone who thinks a white controller looks good doesn't have kids. They're not white long and they're always textured so they don't clean well.

  32. I love the new URL bar, and not to mention how snap version of FF has become so useful in the last few months, loads fast, can't tell the difference between it and regular .deb version, and acts like a first class citizen on my Kubuntu install. Office flatpak support is awesome too, a there a many distros that support that out of the box like Fedora, Linux Mint, etc. to name a few.

  33. The world's first phone with a 192MP camera could debut next month

and if you put a quality sensor on a camera you'd have one huge sensor... they will never get near the quality of a DSLR without faking it, the image sensor pixels are so much larger to capture more light on one compared to these microscopic ones on cell phones that have to rely on software / firmware to guess what they really saw by comparing surrounding pixels

Looks sexy. I would like to see an alternate version where the △ ◯ ╳ ◻ have color. Though, if they have a color variant, I really hope they make the colors more bold. Not a fan of the faded looking colors.

  37. Sony introduces DualSense, the new controller for the PlayStation 5

yeah, i wonder... i do like it, but (while looking good) i don't like that the color is gone, i know i am in minority, but i looked for color directions sometimes, rather then the shape on the buttons.... this is one thing i like better in xbox is the X Y A B buttons instead of geometrical figures. i guess sony wanted to be different by nintendo and xbox got it right, the letters make more sense i know immediatly where to press the button when prompted. if i don't play for a while - god knows where the square button should be, it is no logic, its just memory

  39. Sony introduces DualSense, the new controller for the PlayStation 5

It's very Xbox and Swtich Pro like, but in the end it's a controller, if it feels good to use then that's fine. Still don't like the way they align the analog sticks, I like the Xbox and Switch style way better..

  46. It'll get there. As it stands, it appears over 1 million confirmed to own a headset with their PC at least. Not sure what PSVR looks like though, but I do hope it's part of Sony's plan later on. https://uploadvr.com/steamvr-hardware-survey-mar-2020/" rel="external nofollow">https://uploadvr.com/steamvr-hardware-survey-mar-2020/ For quite a while there PSVR was the headset to own if you wanted a VR experience with gaming the top priority. A lot of PC and mobile VR was overwhelmed with demos, experiments, and the kind of "this is art" stuff that plagued the indie gaming scene for the better part of the last decade. You know. Experiences. But TBH nothing really spectacular has happened with VR since Oculus first woke up the scene. MR/AR headsets are still trying to simply exist at all, and VR advancements are limited to very slow progress in terms of resolution, FOV, and screen door effect. Meanwhile consumers are arguing about input devices, as if that isn't the most trivial part of the whole thing. I think there are simply tech bottlenecks that VR is stuck behind before it'll have its next big growth spurt in another gen or three.
