Your motherboard has a header for PUMP and CPU FAN / CPU OPT. I would plug the pump into the pump header ... and the two fans into the CPU FAN/CPU OPT headers. See page 27 of your motherboard manual. Your rear and top fans, if blowing air from the inside to the outside are correct. However, the front fans should be sucking air IN and not OUT like you have it (as described). Like this... ....or you can put the radiator at the top of the case (if it fits) and push air out ... placing the current top two fans at the front and pulling air in.1 point -

The LineageOS Phone app is darn similar (and will import from it); however, it's not COMPLETELY identical; even when running LineageOS 17.1 - which I did when not running Android 11 DP2 - the Google Phone app was more stable than that of LineageOS.1 point -
Dell unveils new tool to protect PCs from BIOS attacks as people work remotely
aphanic reacted to random_n for a topic
It's actually not that uncommon to have a soft write-protect setting directly in the BIOS. Trouble is that there's more than just the BIOS itself now - UEFI is also contains a settings database that is by-requirement adjustable from a booted OS. It's basically where the old MBR has gone, and can also contain things like the override for RunAsPPL/Enhanced LSA protection. I'd suspect there's a whole lot of rarely treaded attack surface in there. UEFI is way too complicated for the purpose it serves. Having less "E" and more "B" would be my preference.1 point -

I actually had more than that but cleared out some stuff when I moved a few months back. I had to much stuff that I did not need. I do not do as much side work anymore. I did keep an old Dell laptop tho. Forget model off the top of my head but it was when Win95 came out. Still works great. Battery shot tho. Dell 3800 Bedroom Dell 3800 Living room Dell 3800 Parts Surface Pro 4 Dell 7470 TV Old Dell Spare e7470 Acer Netbook Got a few spare work systems I use to test software installs/updates and other thing on. A Surface Pro 7 that I take to meetings. Display station laptop. My Dell laptop I use primarily for everything else. These are all at work though except for my main laptop. Anyway, mainly WinOS but I support Apple and a little linux at work.1 point -

In a parallel universe, one would put a simple fkin write-disable switch on the motherboard (for desktop PC, and somewhere under the cover for laptops), and whoaa, no more accidental bios overwrite! A billion dollar idea!1 point -

It's a neat idea and looks to have a much lower barrier to entry than Device Guard, but is also not nearly as comprehensive. Mostly it's a shame about the very short list of supported models for the IoC feature. https://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/dtd_admin_guide_en-us.pdf1 point -

Android or iPhone?
+Dick Montage reacted to ThaCrip for a topic
Android ; it's the overall better option especially due to $. anything Apple is overpriced, which generally makes them unattractive. but price aside, iPhones are better in some ways since things are more standardized and will likely receive security updates etc for a while where as a random generic/no name Android phone might not. basically the main thing is avoid generic Android phones since they are less likely to get security updates. but if you stick to brand names like Samsung, you should be good for a while. besides... like @cork1958 mention, you don't need the flagship phones since they are far more expensive and are not that much better than phones a little bit older but much less $. personally I would just get a decent/reasonably priced phone (say $50-100) and the saved $ could be put towards a proper desktop/laptop computer as those are more secure in general doing important stuff online since they tend to get security updates much faster. I just can't see paying a ton of $ for a smart phone which is a overpriced/watered down computer.1 point -

The Sandboxie Windows sandbox isolation tool is now open-source!
goretsky reacted to branfont for a topic
Cybersecurity firm Sophos announced today that it has open-sourced the Sandboxie Windows sandbox-based isolation utility 15 years after it was released. "We are thrilled to give the code to the community," Sophos Director of Product Marketing Seth Geftic said. "The Sandboxie tool has been built on many years of highly-skilled developer work and is an example of how to integrate with Windows at a very low level," "The Sandboxie user base represents some of the most passionate, forward-thinking, and knowledgeable members of the security community, and we hope this announcement will spawn a fresh wave of ideas and use cases." Sandboxie and its source code can now be downloaded from the official website available at: https://www.sandboxie.com/ https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/software/the-sandboxie-windows-sandbox-isolation-tool-is-now-open-source/1 point -
