  1. "Megyn Kelly Today" canceled after blackface comments

Cool ... you have thoughts about this 545 days later... 🙄 President Obama was elected in 2008.

  2. "Megyn Kelly Today" canceled after blackface comments

The only thing that emerged in that regards is the increased visibility of the ingrained racism in certain parts of the USA, which is nothing to be proud of. Oh, I suppose we could also blame Obama for the emergence of Trump as a political figure, seeing as he was one of the biggest and loudest birthers going. Yes, Trump was a Chief Birther... And people still think he isn't a racist sack of crap...

By the time they called it a pandemic, everyone was indifferent because we already knew. That's just... bad man. Whether or not they called it a pandemic, shouldn't people have reacted based on the evidence in front of them rather then waiting months then casting aspersions on other countries because they make for a convenient scapegoat? Clearly this got out of hand. Did they expect it to get this out of hand? Obviously not.

Most people will freak out at the request to share a code they've just received (or going to receive) in a text message - gotta be prepared for that - but it's still worth a shot imho.

You can't call Google to recover your account (which this basically is). If you are unable to recover the account through ... https://accounts.google.com/signin/recovery ... than ouch. Maybe ChromePass? https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/chromepass.html I was able to pull my current Chrome passwords with it ... so it seams to work on the latest version of Chrome. This program "allows you to get the passwords from your current running system, or from a user profile stored on external drive." You'll have to disable your anti-virus while running (as noted in the release notes) since they flag it as malicious (since it would allow you to extract passwords from computers). I just temporarily turned off "Real-Time Protection" in Windows Security to run it. It is from NirSoft so it is legitimate.

Also depends on how important this email address is to him. If it's life and death, call his old number and see if anyone has it. If nobody does, maybe try to go get it back even if it requires paying for a differnet Cell provider for a month or so.

Clearly this got out of hand. Did they expect it to get this out of hand? Obviously not. lol, so if people should have reacted based on the evidence in front of them, then I ask you: What's the point of the World Health Organization? What purpose do they serve if not to inform us properly of diseases and contagions that exist, and their chance to spread? Because you literally just made the argument that we shouldn't blame them because we should just "figure it out". It's just amazing to me that people who are supposed to be knowledgeable about this stuff aren't our go-to resource to even define what is a pandemic. Really though, this isn't about scapegoats. This is about the next time and the time after that. None of this stops with COVID-19 and if you can't trust the people who provide you the information, then the countries contributing to the organization should look to restructuring to improve. Now if you can't agree with me that the WHO could've done a better job, then I don't know what to say other than agree to disagree. We'd been getting updates about the progression of this virus long before it was called a pandemic. That it was coming was obvious to anyone paying attention. When they called it a pandemic means nothing. It was clearly spreading to other countries and getting bad before it got here. Sure, the WHO could've done a better job. So could China, Europe, the US, and everyone else.

  22. I have a very old corsair? or kingston? padlock drive. Didn't buy it, was given it, and as the other commenters have said they work on any OS, the unlocking and encryption is performed by the hardware inside the USB drive itself, to your linux PC it looks just like any other USB flash drive. I've used mine as an arch linux installer and also as a testing drive holding raspberry pi firmware which has booted fine. Okay. I thought was software based.

  27. Yes, Human.Online is 100% correct and it's something I probably should've highlighted more specifically in the article -- once the drive is decrypted (entirely done on the thumb drive itself), it works exactly like any regular USB thumb drive and so can be used on any system. All the processing is done on the drive, so there's no drivers to install on any system. I just added clarification to the specifications section to address your question - thanks for the feedback. "The USB drive contains a rechargeable battery. This lets you type in the PIN and unlock the device before connecting the datAshur PRO2 to a USB port on your computer. Since all of the encryption and decryption is done on the thumb drive itself, the datAshur PRO2 can be used on Windows, Mac, and Linux without the need to install any drivers. If the battery dies from lack of use, you can still plug it into a computer and unlock the drive while it's charging."

I was happy just to see Android give me the option to limit some permissions to only be in effect while the app is in the foreground. Disabling background permissions is great for apps that shouldn't need them in the first place. For apps I give background permissions to, this is a nice extra in case I get lazy or lose track of the app and it pulls something like that ES File Explorer crap a couple years back.

  35. try and inform yourself. the WHO helped china spread the virus. they also know the information they were giving the world was designed to let the virus spread. How can an organisation encourage the world to allow travel from china and out of china when even the chinese blocked wuhan from accessing other parts of china but allow same wuhan resident to leave to other parts of the world.
    1 point
  36. Let's just say that there is enough blame to go around in this case. China tried to flat out cover up the outbreak, the WHO was on their side and never questioned the information given to them from the CCP. Taiwan was blowing the horn early but no one gave a care because of political reasons. Western governments acted slow in many cases when they should have been quick with lock downs. And last but not least you also have, and still do, a % of people who never took the pandemic seriously and didn't follow quarantine who probably helped spread this thing even more.

  37. PowerToys Spotlight-like search reportedly coming in May

This is so much better than the start menu though. In every way! How so? It looks the same Uh, no it doesn’t. But why build a new space for it when this could just replace the current taskbar search. I've never had an issue with the Start search, but if it must be supplemented keep it together. Microsofts big flaw is they put too many things in too many places then don't tell anyone. Keep it together. Why not have options? You need to keep in mind, this is an employee-driven program, not part of Windows. I worry about that too many users will never see it. There is a lot of negative sentiment about features Windows supposedly lack, but that are in reality present and not advertised. This caters to a certain individual. Power toys in general have never been high profile applications that the vast majority of consumers knew about them. But surely an enhanced search tool is something the majority of users can benefit from not just the certain user?

Weird, things like Image search and rebuilt document/local results seem like something new. (Hit the Search Icon on the taskbar - notice [-] like icon on the bottom right to do a live image search.) I never wrote there were no new features; no, I wrote that there have been no significant changes to search for a long time ( since WIndows Vista, actually ). Shell is particularly in mind. What real new experience is there ? What new scenario ? It is really just the same wordwheeling of 2006 ... Why is it not like already like at least some of the promised features during that development of that OS ? It has only been seventeen years. Or why is it not already like OneNote complete with ( optional ) audio search and OCR search and more ? I think there is recognition of certain objects ( as of 1909, it seems, it is possible to search for, say, 'red' and images of that color will return regardless of directory or metadata ) but it is very suboptimal. And then other stupid things ... like Photos search criteria ... which can actually be nice ... being locked to the app itself ( despite my 'red' example above ! ). At least Windows Photo Gallery --- the latest version of itself now eight years old --- promoted metadata ( even facial recognition ) that could be accessed, indexed, managed, and searched by any app ... 'Searching' and 'organizing' used to be a big deal at Microsoft --- not now.

  41. PowerToys Spotlight-like search reportedly coming in May

I imagine this particular feature would get Apple’s panties in a twist if integrated. Meh, they all copy each other. I miss having spotlight so bring it on. I promise this is not a trolling response, as I am truly curious as to what you and others are noticing that I may be missing... What is Windows Search missing that you like about Spotlight (or even things you dislike, but notice are missing)? i.e. Features, how things work, how the UI/UX works, etc. I have been sitting back trying to get my head around this, and several places on the web I have noticed similar discussions with users like yourself wanting the PowerToys implementation because they see it as offering Spotlight features they miss on Windows. Bing search in Windows Search... why? Just why? Why not? As long as local content takes precedence in results, the additional 'web search' features are better than a blank box with zero search results. There is also the whole service/answer automation features, that I find it strange more people still don't use them. Windows Key - then type things like: weather 92128 stock msft define ineffable sqr root 5546 10+6-9*8/52 how old is cher These are all faster than opening a browser or an App to get the information. This is a key area where a power user becomes more productive by using the key search of Windows. These are also just very basic samples, as there are more complex uses that tap into additional online services and features in Windows to pull information and do work to get an answer with the information. Even the old Run command has been obsolete since search was added to the start menu. Typing the same commands, paths, etc in the search work just as Run does 99% of the time, with additional features like path/folder prediction, etc. - things that add power and ease to something as simple as running a command. I'm not trying to make anyone's perception wrong, or change minds. However, I do want to help people know that these features exist, how they can be useful, and why they exist. Give them a try, and maybe add them to daily use/workflow . PS Also notice, if you hit the Search icon - there are new categories and features in the later 1909 and 2004 versions - notice you can do an image capture from the Search Box, and search the web for a similar image (using Bing, which usually does this better than Google.)

I own both an XBox One and a PS4Pro. The One has been a total waste of money. Haven't turned it on in months. I had an Xbox One X and a PS4 Pro and sold the PS4 Pro because that was my reaction to it (it being junk and all.) You're entitled to your opinion, even if it is wrong It's fair to say you don't like the games for the PS4. I don't like multiplayer games, and I have a reasonably powerful PC ergo, no reason for me to own a One. But to call the console you don't like a hunk of junk is laughable. I liked the games fine. I finished them and moved on. I was talking about the hardware. I also have a very powerful PC.

  44. Cyberpunk 2077-themed Xbox One X and Wireless Controller unveiled

For those who also have a PC for gaming, there is no reason to buy an X1 because almost all microsoft exclusive games are available on PC, if they wanted to play one. For console only players, microsoft's exclusives have been quite disappointing so far, compared to sony's, so again no reason to choose an X1 over PS4 for most people. Also, the base X1 and X1S are weaker than the base PS4, which means multiplatform games usually either have a lower resolution or a lower frame rate on X1. X1X is more powerful than PS4 Pro, but apparently to many people it's not worth it over sony's exclusives. I keep hearing about the PC argument, but it honestly doesn't effect everyone. I have a gaming PC but I also own a Xbox One X. I don't always want to play on my 30" monitor PC at 1080p ( yeah I'm still rocking 1080p with a GTX 1070), and I feel like playing on my 55" 4k screen. The majority of Xbox owners don't have gaming PCs, but for those like me, many also buy both because it depends on ones mood. Besides, at the end of the day, a xbox game sold on the console or the pc is still money in MS' pocket so they don't much care as long as you buy them. Phil was right, as much as haters want to try and beat him up for it, but console sales don't make or break you when you have multiple ways to get people into your ecosystem. Console, PC, Game Pass on both, xCloud for mobile gaming in the future.
