  5. Epic now requires two-factor authorization to claim free games

2FA should be used for everything. Security should be the #1 priority for everyone.

  6. That's not the point. They want to encourage users to use 2FA to protect entire account, whether you just hoard their free games or buy stuff with them. Also, as far as I can tell, you only need to use 2FA to login to EGS, not to claim individual free games. They just make it mandatory to secure your account before you can claim free games. And for a change I can say something encouraging about EGS, they don't force you to use some stupid 2FA method like Steam's dumb ass clumsy proprietary authenticator app. With EGS you can use standard OTP generator, SMS authentication or e-mail authentication. E-mail authentication is the least intrusive, doesn't require any app and you don't have to give away your phone number. For e-mail authentications, you really only need to keep your e-mail mailbox secured properly and you're good.

FACT CHECK MY ARSE. Everything about the official news about Coronavirus was misleading and it is still misleading. And right now, we do know nothing but we have a long list of myths debunked where we need the opposite.

  11. Retrieve Windows installation key on HP notebook

windows 10 you shouldn't need to extract the key. just skip the key on install and have him log back in with the same Microsoft account afterwords and it should reactivate based on the digital key. if it's dual booted with Windows 8.1 and you wish to keep both installs you can use Magical Jelly Bean to extract that key. I believe you said upgraded to 10 but figured I'd put this part as well just in case it's useful to you. 🙂

  17. I just don't find this app useful. My phone is ALWAYS with me. And the performance of ANYTHING on Your Phone is decidedly bad compared to doing things on my phone. And if I'm playing music on my phone (why wouldn't I be playing it on my PC or tablet, seriously?) already KNOW what's playing...why would I bring up an app on my PC to tell me? This just makes no sense.
    2 points
  18. What sense does this make? It's not like my phone doesn't already show me what's playing. I have absolutely no desire for my phone to connect to my computer anyway! Have blocked that stupid app from even starting on my 2 Windows 10 computers.

Exactly right. Millions of lives have been destroyed over a computer simulation. They're finding out now that the death rate is similar to that of past flu seasons. A.I. sounds all neat and futuristic but when it fails so miserably in predicting the future we need to seriously start asking lots of questions. Like who wrote the software. That's my first question.

  25. YouTube expands fact-checking feature to the U.S.

Oh my God. You actually aren't ashamed to admit that you voted for Hillary Clinton? I admire you sir. Fact checking is fine, censorship is not. When the only truth that can be published is that which your government allows you have no freedoms left. Considering the ###### show we have in there now? No, I'm not ashamed whatsoever. 65,853,514 others did too. Also, YouTube isn't a government organization. First amendment freedoms do not apply. What did the President do that you hate so much? Was it all the job creation? Good point you made in the tail end of your post. Still, we have to be very careful when any 1 person or company claims to have a monopoly on what is truth for everybody else. If people get the idea that YouTube is only allowing what they believe to be true on their platform people will lose faith in the integrity of YouTube. And it will become known as propaganda.

  28. Microsoft says Surface PCs don't have Thunderbolt for security reasons

Not since 2013, at least. There are numerous, very secure methods of limiting Thunderbolt’s (et al) DMA access, including using Intel’s VT-d to virtualize devices.

  32. Epic now requires two-factor authorization to claim free games

And why is it a stupid move? 2FA should be required for EVERYTHING. This is such a stupid opinion I can't honestly even fathom how stupid it is. Not everything is equal in security. Why should a system with free games require more security than a bank card? Because it is an account? And because people are stupid and reuse passwords? Which can be really dangerous in case of a breach? Really? Is it really such a hassle to just set up Authy or GAuth?

Because youtube only shows bias against conservatives? Nope. Because conservatives believe a fallacy that only they get victimized on these platforms. Errr.. that was kind of my point. Youtube shows bias against a wide variety of demographics and no one should trust them (and by extension google) to fact check. It's weird how you hyper focus on conservatives though.

  41. YouTube expands fact-checking feature to the U.S.

This should be the case on a lot of media online and offline as well as governments to back up what is being said with facts, evidence and many sources because it's too easy not to do disinformation and the problem with that is that too many people buy into it without researching to see if there is any truth in it and that is really damaging to the fabric of democracies. So your message to the world is "Sit down, shut up and believe what your government tells you? Did I get it about right?" I think you used a double-negative somewhere in your post. Can you restate your message in a different way please? To easy not to do disinformation? What?

  42. YouTube expands fact-checking feature to the U.S.

Because youtube only shows bias against conservatives? Nope. Because conservatives believe a fallacy that only they get victimized on these platforms. It's not a fallacy if it's well established that many of these sources have a heavy left bias... The problem is that a lot of politics is based on opinion and not so much on true facts. Words are very easily twisted, and sources like Politifact and Washington Post are notorious for doing just that. This isn't some big secret...

  46. Microsoft says Surface PCs don't have Thunderbolt for security reasons

They do this so that it meets DoD security requirements, because they want those contracts. In which case, where the theoretical threat is a hostile nation state, the dedicated and specialized hardware is not out of the question. But, to your point, I am not sure why they don't just have a model for DoD purchase that lacks a Thunderbolt port.
