How to bypass Windows10 build version checking?
waysidesc and 3 others reacted to +Biscuits Brown for a topic
Not possible. The package was build with a minimum version for a reason and running that old a version of Windows likely does not include assemblies that the app requires. I think you choice is to upgrade to a newer version of Win 10 or find another app to do what you are looking to do.4 points -

I'd take this over the Alienware any day. I've had two Alienwares- one at home and one at work. The one at home I got rid of pretty quickly when I found how it was not very configurable/upgradeable. I'd prefer this for that reason. The new one I got at work a couple months ago (A great sale price nothing else came close to competing with) is an embarrassment- it's just tacky and every time I compile, the fans kick in and it sounds like we have a jet engine in the office. Will I be able to replace the fan with something quiet? Maybe! But maybe not. Dell did not design these things to be customizable.3 points -

Should I upgrade my Ryzen 3 1200 CPU?
Zoea reacted to nhjay for a topic
This is an older thread at this point, but following up as I did just finally upgrade my CPU. Though I was initially targeting the 2600 back in Dec, I pulled the trigger on the 3600, and it was well worth it. Performance has increased dramatically. GTA5 for instance used to pin my 1200 at 100%, but now with the 3600, it runs an average of 25%.1 point -
How to bypass Windows10 build version checking?
waysidesc reacted to Brandon H for a topic
1607 is quite old now and support should be expiring soon if not already. Have you tried newer builds? 1909 is quite stable and has a few nice quality of life improvements since then too. You could always install to another partition or another drive to test out to see if it's stable enough for your needs so you don't disturb your current install. I'm running 2004 Release Preview on my tower at home and it also seems perfectly stable to me just for the record 🙂1 point -

list disk not showing all partition
Deep_Level_Shark reacted to +virtorio for a topic
Yeah, that's what you'd expect to see. The disk is the physical drive in your machine (e.g. your hard-disk/SSD), and it has 5 partitions on it. There's a "format" button in Windows setup you can use to clear partition 4. If you want to clear that partition using diskpart, you need to select the disk, select the partition and use the format command. E.g: list disk (disks will be listed) select disk 0 (disk 0 is now selected) list partition (example output from my machine: Partition ### Type Size Offset ------------- ---------------- ------- ------- Partition 1 System 360 MB 1024 KB Partition 2 Reserved 128 MB 361 MB Partition 3 Primary 474 GB 489 MB Partition 4 Recovery 1730 MB 475 GB) select partition 3 (selects partition 3) Type "help format" for more information on how to use format.1 point -

How to use Canon DSLR camera as a webcam with your PC
Danielx64 reacted to Tarrant64 for a topic
Part of the idea is that if you don't have a webcam available, which many don't, few may happen a DSLR sitting around that can be used in it's place. Webcams are hard to come by right now. And they're not inexpensive in a time period where money is tight for people. This isn't just about quality, it's about an alternative way to gain access to streaming over the web. Or did you somehow miss the fact we're in a pandemic and many people are stuck at home right now?1 point -
OnePlus 8 review: Thinner, lighter, and prettier than the Pro
naap51stang reacted to ad47uk for a topic
Why? Phones aren't air cooled. What does a reduction of internal depth have to do with thermal performance? I'd imagine having the components closer to the body would help to improve thermal transfer efficiency to the body where it can be dissipated, not make it worse. Most phones are plastic, if they have any metal it is very little and certainly not enough to cope with heat and to be honest would you really want to hold a phone that is warm or hot? They may not be air cooled, but you stick anything that gets warm in a sealed unit, and they get even warmer. I have read that new 5G phones get over heated as it is, you start slimming them down and it will get worse. I don't see this fascination in having super slim phones and the lack of bezels, which is why new phones now have the dreaded notch. I'm dreading the time when I have to get a new phone, as by then they will all have the dreaded notch. I also like a bit of weight in my phone, so I know I am still holding it and not thinking I have dropped it.1 point -

Of course they are biased. So is the Western MSM. So much so they wouldn't show the pics purposefully to keep the "mystery alive". It's being reported he attended a public event. BBC have showed just one photo. The American media - none (personally checked multiple sources). Here, have a go at it. I'm not proficient with the Korean, but I'm positive that date says May 1st, 2020. Easy to fake of course, but this "sensation" is now over. You've been ALL played again.1 point -
