  4. Lenovo announces new ThinkPads with AMD Ryzen 4000 processors

They absolutely kill it at multi-threading and 'traditional' workloads. Their TDP is much lower, which could translate to better battery life for the processor. And part of it is just frustration at OEMs dragging their feet over Ryzen. Most continue to really only offer Intel - despite Ryzen competing, if not exceeding, in most categories, while being a much lower price point. First generation of two of Ryzen, sure, I can understand. OEMs probably had to design new motherboards and might have not seen the investment worth it going by AMD's previous release track record. But for the third and fourth generation? Now it is just starting to feel like OEMs are being paid by Intel to place their processors exclusively in the flagship models.

  5. Lenovo announces new ThinkPads with AMD Ryzen 4000 processors

It depends on your workload. It's absolutely dominating in multi threaded applications and digital content creation. In single threaded applications it slightly ahead of Intel's latest offerings. Early test results show that even a low end AMD notebook can easily beat an Intel notebook that costs two to three times more. Best of you read some reviews around the web. Anantech tested yesterday a low-mid range notebooks from Acer the Swift 3 SF314 Notebook which showed what the low power Ryzen can do.

  7. That seems like a bit of an exaggeration. The Wii U failed horribly, yes, but the 3DS did pretty well, and I think your particular case with the 2DS XL wasn't a universal experience across the 3DS family. You bought it pretty late into the game, to be fair. Same with the Wii - you may not have had much use for it, but it did sell over 100 million hardware units and 921 million software copies. With that being said, the Switch is definitely bouncing Nintendo back from that Wii U experience, but to say that they needed this badly implies that they've been doing horribly for years, when they've been doing fairly well in many regards.

  10. possible to disable password based login in Windows 10 ?

If you only want to use a PIN (that's what is recommended and what I do), click on Settings, then Accounts > Sign In Options. You will see one option 'Windows Hello PIN (recommended). Select that and it will have you set a PIN that you can use instead of your password. Don't follow anything Som above told you.

Yes they are. They are faster, more power-efficient and have better iGPUs than Intel's equivalents. What else could you want from a CPU?

  19. possible to disable password based login in Windows 10 ?

Don't click the Sign-in options. Just enter the PIN and you're in. They can't remove them completely from the OS - what if you forget your PIN? You can always fall back on the password. Just enter your PIN and you have logged in.

It doesn't automatically switch to PIN after you enable it in the sign-in options? I just enter pins when logging into my computers...not a password.

  22. Microsoft releases Windows 10 build 19624 to the Fast ring

There have been a LOT of features added merely to Windows 10 Pro for Workstations (a superset of Windows 10 Pro). This rather unique superset is greater than Pro, but less than Enterprise - I'm finding so much to like about it that this unique build is my default on all my hardware (replacing both Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Enterprise). Speaking of new hardware, I've added another HP notebook to the testing queue; this one is closer hardware-wise to my desktop than my other notebook (Intel Pentium G - not AMD anything). However, I had to change two settings - at least temporarily; I re-enabled support for virtualization support (the CPU supports it; however, it was disabled in the BIOS), and I had to reset the BIOS to Legacy mode from Secure Boot to enable USB boot (I blanked the HDD because I am doing a complete start from scratch - retaining nothing).

🤣 sigh Why sigh? I am laughing at him, not agreeing. He has the typical attitude of “I don’t use it, so it’s not a feature” that a particular collection of Neowinians have. To say there have been no features in the last 5 years is one of the stupidest comments I have read in a long time. Oi, adrynalyne, I am sighing because of his comment, not yours. You can even see my list of new features above this post ! I am sorry for the confusion. here : https://www.neowin.net/news/microsoft-releases-windows-10-build-19624-to-the-fast-ring/#comment-598545210 with that said, i would write my favorite version is 1703. i have the fondest memories of that one ...

  33. I love when people bring up "Freedom of Speech" on issues that have nothing to do with Freedom of Speech. Oh they don't? Then why are they censoring in the first place? There is a Block and Ignore button already, why do these companies feel the need to be our parents and saying "Nono, this bad" Freedom of speech is about Gov infringing one's rights. A private company can do as they please. Again this isn't about the 1st Amendment as it does not apply here.

  34. Google could replace Chromecast with an Android TV-based product

Agreed, but if you're an idiot like me with a FireTV (I hate Alexa after spending time with it), it makes for easy casting to the TVs without the capability. Sometimes I just want to pull something interesting up and it's super useful. If I had to go back, I'd probably have stuck with Roku. AppleTV wouldn't be bad if they fixed the damn remote. I gave away all my FireTV devices. Hated how Amazon was forcing all their crap on you. I replaced them all with Nvidia Shield TV boxes at my house (2 Shield TVs and a Mi Box S), my son's house (1 Shield TV) and my parent's house (1 Shield TV). I've had Rokus, AppleTVs, FireTVs, and generic android TV boxes. Shield TV is by far my favorite.

  39. Twitter tests warning users when they write potentially offensive replies

Basically. The biggest issue with all of this is consistency. None of these sites act with any measured consistency, and I mean that across multiple platforms. Just look at Twitch who let's certain streamers flash their tits, but bans others for breaking less serious rules. It's a big gigantic mess, where select people are given complete privilege. This isn't limited to politics either. Just look at how many YouTube channels for that matter get distinct privilege, like the whole Logan Paul controversy. It's just idiocy and complete hypocrisy allowed to run wild, where everyone's kissing someone's ass just to stay in business or continuing to wield influence. If someone wants to disagree with me, then go figure out why certain YouTubers are having to fight copyright claims and whatnot on a regular basis due to broken moderation and systems for judgment of the content in question.

  41. Microsoft releases Windows 10 build 19624 to the Fast ring

lol Windows 10 1507 is 5 years old. Sure. Windows 10 2004 is well... 5 months old give or take a CU. Windows 10 is a brand in itself now. Just like OS X/MacOS 10.x.x Microsoft is on record saying there will be nothing beyond Windows 10 in regards to the Windows brand. No Windows 11. Or Windows 12. Or Windows 2020. Yet we're still getting active updates every 6 months. Windows 10 2004 is significantly different than Windows 10 1507. Windows10X has yet to prove itself, and considering the delays, and dreadful product launches anytime MS attempts to depreciate legacy components and form a Modern OS, it fails miserably whether due to lack developer buy in, or them constantly rebooting the platform. Windows 10 has a long and feature packed future ahead of itself. Windows 10X... probably not so much. We'll how it pans out with OEM and developer support. Not holding my breath though. Would be nice.

I’m glad I clean installed my Windows 10 May 2020 Edition to my two main computers recently and they run a lot smoother and snappier also and will probably just stick with the May 2020 Edition of Windows 10 til next year, unless 20H2 offers some good stuff to enhance my experience overall

  50. How to bypass Windows10 build version checking?

OP, even if you bypassed the check, it wouldn't run. Paint 3D was created for Windows 10 ver. 1703 and requires assemblies from that version to work.
