lol the comments in here are like clockwork. So predictable. There has to be a point where all these people bitching about efforts to curb incorrect information and outright falsehoods, have to really start and wonder, that gee, every single service that is enforcing fact checking, limiting false edits... these efforts somehow conflict with their values.. and maybe start to wonder if those values/views are flawed? Half of you all sound like you're at stage 1 or 2 of the grieving process, you've got a long way to go till acceptance that you're conditioned and brainwashed into not believing actual, verifiable facts, as well as not accepting the efforts to combat falsehoods. Not to mention, nobody should be using Wikipedia as a primary source of information, at least not without looking at the sources list at the bottom, which no doubt contains sites that you've also been mind warped into thinking are fake. It'd almost be funny, if it weren't so pathetic. Literal bitching about efforts to limit toxic behavior, we alternate universe have we all fallen into.2 points -

I must have missed the presumption of innocence being changed to a presumption of guilt. Did they sneak that into the Coronavirus Bill? Oh, and she isn't wanted for murder either. You're right that she's not wanted for murder, but incorrect that she's innocent. There's zero doubt that her dangerous driving killed an innocent man; she even admitted it. Not quite, she admitted hitting him and admitted being on the wrong side of the road. That's not quite the same as admitting causing death by dangerous driving. Same thing. In the UK, driving on the wrong side of the road IS dangerous driving, by default. Killing someone by doing so IS causing death by dangerous driving.1 point -

A steal? It’s an expensive piece of brick that really can’t do anymore than browse the web and some office software. At least the iPad, though it’s pricey, have a huge reservoir of software available. what were the fools at Microsoft thinking with this piece of junk? I've always said if MS wanted to succed on ARM they need to push cheaper devices - that's how android got traction, and that's also why the most sold Windows ARM device was the Nokia 520. There are plenty of Asian OEMs who'd be happy to try a Google alternative, and many MS/tech fans who'd love to have aWindows ARM device if if were affordable enough. Heck even releasing a version for raspberry pi, or making it compatible with other/lower end chips to allow it to be flashed to existing tablets/Chromebooks would've gained userbase and developer base. But no, MS has to deliver too little, too late, and way too expensive1 point -

Google Messages might soon add end-to-end encryption for RCS
matthiew reacted to dirtyvu for a topic
Especially since I don't want Google to read my ######... RCS does not go through Google's servers at all, which is THE reason why the rollout has been so damn slow. this is not correct at all... Google's implementation of RCS (not the universal one), completely goes through Google servers: If your message is sent and delivered successfully via Google's RCS, it's then deleted from Google's servers. If your message is sent via Google's RCS, isn't received, and you ultimately have to fall back to SMS/MMS, it's also deleted from Google's servers. If your message is sent via Google's RCS, routed through another provider, and successfully delivered, it's deleted from Google's servers — though other services in the chain may have their own data policies. However, files like images and videos sent in RCS messages are temporarily stored on Google servers with non-visible, hashed, "random, unguessable URLs." Be careful who you send files like images to, as well: Metadata isn't removed from photos, so if location data was attached when it was captured, that is sent to the recipient, too. To route your messages and enumerate which of your contacts can and can't receive RCS messages, Google stores some information like your phone number, SIM, and other device identifiers while you're connected to its RCS/chat protocol, though that information is eventually deleted after about a month if you opt out or become inactive. Should any of this bother you, just don't opt in when you get the prompt on your phone.1 point -

With Intel's Flex Memory Access, it still may utilize dual channel even if the RAM is not in the proper sockets. However, I agree that Rich should check the proper location for RAM and do a couple of new tests to see if there is a difference. Flex Memory Mode is a mixed single/dual channel mode, and you still have to use both sockets. In this scenario this is not applicable. Let's take an example: A(1 x 8GiB) + B(1 x 4GiB) = 12 GiB Total memory In ideal case this will operate in Flex mode: 4+4 dual + 4 singe In detail: - dual mode: lower half of 8GiB from A + 4 GiB from B - single mode: remaining upper half of 8GiB from A Check this: Single- and Multichannel Memory Modes https://www.intel.com/content/...005657/boards-and-kits.html1 point -

Good for you. Enjoy living in your police state. I enjoy living in mine. The freedom of assembly is guaranteed by the Russian Constitution. However, that doesn't mean that a bunch of people can block a major artery of a big city. Russia is a large country. They could've chosen to stage their protest on an open field somewhere, invited the media. No one would've bothered them. But no, they thought that their right to protest was more important than other people's rights to go on with their daily lives, commuting to and from work, etc. They had been warned that their protest was an unlawful one, but they still continued and got what they deserved. You may not like it, but Russia is a country with its own laws.1 point -

You just have to remember that western sheep need to be sold on the idea of an "enemy." It comes from their governments handbooks and it's been done countless times in the last century. Whether it's the Chinese, North Korean, North Vietnamese, Russian or Iranian, their government needs "enemies" in order for the military industrial complex to continue on. And the ironic thing is the only conflict most of the people in the West have been in involved a keyboard. I feel so so sorry for the people unable to think for themselves. I think 2016/2017 are shaping up to be the years everything is blame on Putin/Russia. Funny thing is, if we go back a few decades, everything was blame on the Chinese, then the Japanese, etc. It's a well written playbook with a very high chance of success due to a highly brainwashed population. Sad, very sad. What kind of a reply is that? Of course it's not O.K. for any news source to publish incorrect information but seriously, it's becoming pathetic how many times you're bringing this up. I don't expect Bloomberg or their colleagues from the other organizations subservient to the Western Ministry of Truth to mention any details of the dead man's criminal past. All those bribes he had taken; shady deals he had made. It's so much simpler and easier to exploit the anti-Putin narrative in which they've become so proficient. Voronenkov himself is neither the first or last Russian criminal who managed to ran away abroad from the Russian investigation and claimed political asylum all while accusing the Russian authorities of corruption in the process. It's so convenient. And of course, the new hosts will gladly accept luggages of cash of dubious origin as bank deposits of their newcomers. Chances are that his own criminal past haunted him. The Russian government doesn't execute people. We are way past that point. It's been 21 years this year since the moratorium on capital punishment was established in Russia. In the meantime, hundreds of extrajudicial killings have been performed by the U.S.1 point
