  7. Nothing is free, encryption need extra computing power. I do not understand why a normal user will need encryption. Are you doing anything wrong with it? Piracy is ok but don't overdo. Most of the encryption would be handled by the client. This is from a company that didn't even offer encryption until the bad press. Zoom had a chance to be "the solution", now due to all those security vulnerabilities, they will be known as the "the insecure solution". All those companies that blocked it, yeah, it's still not allowed. Where is the source that say most of the encryption would be handled by the client? EFF has an excellent deep dive into this. https://ssd.eff.org/en/module/...ey-encryption-systems-work" rel="external nofollow">https://ssd.eff.org/en/module/...key-encryption-systems-work I'm asking the ZOOM, bro. LOL what? Every end-to-end encryption is handled as described in that link, including Zoom. That is the definition of end-to-end. *Major Facepalm* EVERY is a bold claim LOL. Where is the mention of Zoom in that article? Can you quote for me? Classic case of not understanding that if A=B and B=C then A=C. Sorry, can't help you with that. We are being trolled. That or he truly doesn’t understand what cost of doing business is and what things you should pass on to the customer and not. I suspect the former.

  8. Zoom is working on adding stronger encryption for paying customers

Nothing is free, encryption need extra computing power. I do not understand why a normal user will need encryption. Are you doing anything wrong with it? Piracy is ok but don't overdo. Hand me all your passwords. Let me look at your messages and emails. Are you doing anything wrong with it? You can let some random third party who you can't even identify, access to your messages, but not me, your fellow Neowinian? Unlike them, I promise I will let you know when I have logged in and what I checked in your account. I don't understand why people shouldn't need encryption. Also, as @TheGhostPhantom pointed out, encryption and decryption happens in the users' end, not on Zoom's servers. LMAO as I said nothing is free in this world. What in exchange for all my information to you? Everybody wants free but when someone demand free from them they viral it. Hypocrite as hell LOL. I'll give you $1 every time I access your account. Remember, others give you $0. We can work out exchange rates if you live in another country. I agree, nothing is free in this world. Costs are only offloaded to something else. Literally all they have to do is copy and paste the enterprise code just once to their consumer offering and compile the code. In fact, it is far cheaper for Zoom to enable end-to-end encryption because they don't have to spend their resources encrypting each and every bit of information in their servers. Hypocrite who? End-to-end encryption is the most ethical (open source code with no possibility of a backdoor or eavesdropping under proper implementation) and cost effective (as discussed above) way to send information. Literally, the only person who does not want this implemented in a product is the man-in-the-middle. So unless you are such a person, or work for such an entity, might I say, delusional much? $1? hahaha, you are funny bro. if you don't know how much the personal data cost, you can check the cost of running something like Facebook,Google or any other company that work this way. LMAO bro, you must be funny to live in a fantasy world. If this is not hypocrite i don't know what is. Everyone love free thing, there is nothing wrong with it, however a choosing beggar is disgusting. Did you seriously bring up Google and Facebook as your defense, both of who have done end-to-end encryption for free? Cool story, bro. For free? Really? You think there is free in this world? Again, how much is the running cost that Facebook, Google or others company alike provided to you as FREE? For free to the user, yes. Really! Everything costs someone something, somewhere so I dont know what point you are making. Encryption should be eaten by the company as a cost of doing business. Never trust a company that passes the buck to you, to protect your data. Any other questions?

If you can't pay it up front, or, do like I do, pay it with your credit card, (makes it easier to return/dispute), then when the bill comes PAY THE ENTIRE THING OFF. Otherwise STOP buying these overpriced "flagships" and watch their price come back down. The only reason they charge so much, is because there must be enough knuckleheads out there that are willing to PAY that much.

  12. Sony delays its PlayStation 5 event, no new date in sight

With everything that's going on, delaying a 1hr show about your new product and a few games isn't a major deal. They can just as well do it in a week or two, it's not the end of the world. At the same time I don't think we should try and mask the delay as being for some noble reason, it's not, it's a business move and nothing else.

  14. Let's be real. This isn't about free speech. Conservatives are mad and claiming censorship cause their entire belief system is based on lies and these platforms are simply fact checking. They don't like facts. The claims that conservatives are targeted is proven false, and frankly they do lie and spread hate/threats of violence more than any other group. They have Fox news for uncensored lies and BS, and if they really want to they could create their own platform. Jordan Peterson is working on a red pill one already. What exactly did Twitter fact check? Mail-in voter fraud is a real thing with real examples. Both Republicans and Democrats have engaged in mail-in voter fraud. There's plenty to disagree about, but facts shouldn't be one of them. Here is the actual link and content to what Twitter posted regarding Trump's two tweets. https://twitter.com/i/events/1265330601034256384 On Tuesday, President Trump made a series of claims about potential voter fraud after California Governor Gavin Newsom announced an effort to expand mail-in voting in California during the COVID-19 pandemic. These claims are unsubstantiated, according to CNN, Washington Post and others. Experts say mail-in ballots are very rarely linked to voter fraud. Trump himself made unsubstantiated claims in his tweets. One would think the POTUS should be the one held to the higher standard but when it comes to this President, lying is just part of daily life.

  15. But clearly social media sites like Facebook have too much power/political influence. that's why it's a problem and things need to be more neutral. With government intervention? 🤣🤣🤣 Yes let’s allow the government to step on the first amendment and censor private business. There is no way that would set a precedent, right? Look past Trump worship for a moment and see how dangerous that is. Liability protections were given to tech companies because they were acting as platforms, just like telecommunication providers. If you use your Verizon cellphone to commit a crime, Verizon is not liable for that. Same thing was meant to apply to neutral internet platforms, to protect them and spur on the growth of the internet. The thing is once the tech companies stopped being neutral, and started censoring people and having an agenda, they stopped being platforms. Which is absolutely fine by the way. They are private companies and they should be able to run their service however the heck they want. If Twitter doesn't want to allow Alex Jones on their service, that's 100% their right. What is not absolutely fine is tech companies acting like "content providers" yet expecting the same liability protections afforded platforms. The NY Times does not get liability protections. MSNBC does not get liability protections. Verizon and AT&T do. If Twitter wants to act like the NY Times and decide what content can be published on their service, that's great, but you don't get liability protections. If they want to step back and act more like a neutral platform like Verizon's cell service, that's fine too, enjoy your liability protections. I'm glad Trump signed this executive order because it was long overdue. I realize Trump is horrible, but if it took his feelings being hurt by Twitter for someone in the government to wake up and question liability protections for tech services that no longer act as neutral platforms, then that's fine by me. Adding a fact checking label after the tweet does not constitute editing or acting like a content provider.

After all if you have more info that hasn't been posted, why not post it instead of sitting on the sidelines complaining about it? I made no complaint. I made an observation, which clearly hurt your feelings. If your feelings are so easily hurt maybe you should avoid the internet and read a book, or go on a hike. Funny, your post still doesn't address the point I was making. Not that I expected you to be able to provide any actual information to the topic. Oh is that what you were trying to do. I never said I was going to give you or anyone else information that could easily look up them selves. Where you go that idea is odd. You said "Lots of people with little information", then you proceeded to like particular commentators who themselves were showing that they had "little information". So the question is what other information is missing from the convo? And why are you so scared to post it since you think there is something missing. It's just a conversation that we're having here, no need to be so scared to provide something that hasn't been said. Why would I be scared to post? I'm posting now. Also, why are you so obsessed with me? Its very creepy. Clearly Im talking about the information you claimed there was little of. You're scared to post it.

  35. That proposal is a quick way to take Twitter, Facebook and Google private. And that's about all it will accomplish. It will probably shut down most of the support forums for every other major company as well. complying with First Amendment standards is not hard at all! and would make Twitter a Freer and more liberal communication utility. Twitter needs to NOT editorialize and NOT selectively ban opinions they disagree with. or they will be held liable for this Behavior and not be protected by 230 immunity, Twitter will still moderate the platform for violence illegal activity Etc... and will retain its 230 immunity from being held liable for this type of specific moderation ( based on the precedent set by stratton Oakmont, Inc. v. Prodigy Services Co) but as a platform they will not restrict, sensor or suppress any type of speech that is protected by the First Amendment. Twitter brought this on themselves for editorializing an opinion made by the president - they are clearly acting like a publisher but then hide behind the 230 immunities that was given to them by the government! Twitter didn't editorialize anything. Trump's original tweet was not changed in the slightest, nor did Trump offer an opinion but unsubstantiated claims. Twitter's action had zero to do with the First Amendment either. The First Amendment is about gov infringement on one's speech, it does not cover what is said on a privately owned platform. By Trump using Twitter, he and everyone else for that matter are agreeing to Twitters rules and TOS, it does not work the other way around. Enough with the nonsense.

  36. That false dichotomy was already debunked by the Supreme Court many years ago: they are a platform (no liability) which may be liable if adequate measures are not implemented (such as advertisement data, age verification, content filtering [per jurisdictional regulations]). Their adoption of private competitive features (such as SMS messaging, mobile apps, 2FA, content filtered by preferences) does not qualify an entity as a publisher. Specifically, they do not author the extreme majority of content on the platform. This last point was the legal arguments in court and it was upheld.

  37. But clearly no where near Biden level (it's going to be priceless watching Trump stream-roll Biden in the debates). Trump 2020 for the sake of the country as if the godless left gets into power they will destroy the country as they want things to return to pre-Trump era (i.e. back to their usual corruption and the hell with the common person). many in power on the left are inline with this verse from the Bible... "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter." - Isaiah 5 : 20 because on the left what was once good is now bad and what was once bad is now good. they basically favor disorder over order. i have no idea about Biden, I live in the U.K. do I hear very little of Biden, but we do hear a lot about Trump, sadly, Myself I detest the bloke, I detest his voice and it makes me cringe every time I hear it, I still do not understand how on earth he came to be President of the U.S.A. We have our own problems in the U.k with Boris, but I do think he is a bit better than Trump, he has brains, so that is a good start.

Meanwhile... lets talk about why Trump is President... because of how much of a failure Obama and Hillary are/were. They are THAT bad. When you realize that Trump is flawed... yet he's still beating the alternative... maybe you'll realize what that really says about how much of a pile of festering garbage the current Democrat Party is... Then a trumpet was heard in the distance...I think it was out of tune though. Here is a clue for you: I am neither a democrat or republican. What happened to choosing the side of Americans? It’s just black and white to you. I dislike conservatives as much as liberals, but support some ideas of both. I want what is best for our country; while you play a game of red vs blue. 40. But clearly social media sites like Facebook have too much power/political influence. that's why it's a problem and things need to be more neutral. Fact checking misinformation seems to be a good neutral move. I agree that fact checking seems good and harmless. I think the concern some people have is, what if the fact checker has a prejudice or says "facts" that I don't believe are facts. Like what if the fact checker seems a little more favorable on conservative or left views. I guess what I'm saying is, I don't want misinformation becoming popular or believed just because someone with a wide reach on social media has a big following, but I also don't want any side of the political, scientific, medical, or any other community being silenced by a bias filter or someone with an agenda. If the fact system is used the right way it's going to use multiple sources for it's checks, not just one source. But even if it's one fact checking source out of the many that are out there that do this specifically, facts are facts. They shouldn't be bias to begin with and if a tweet is marked then a link to the source should be provided to people.

While I agree that social media has too much influence, marking a post as not fact checked, or as misinformation after they do a fact check on it is hardly a problem and doesn't mess with your free speech right in the least. If anything the fact checking done and posted by Twitter is free speech. Free speech does not mean that your statements cannot be opposed by others, in fact it means that anyone can say you're wrong, something Trump seems to not understand. He is claiming to do this for free speech, but it's kinda odd to champion free speech by censoring others.
