This is absolutely ridiculous BS. Microsoft has gotten worse and worse for quality updates. Problem is, they could care less as over 90% of everyone is on Windows. You don't like it, go to MAC, etc which users won't. So, they really can screw up people's pc's and not care one way or another.2 points -

HTC is back with its first 5G phone, the U20
Tuskd reacted to +InsaneNutter for a topic
The HTC One M8 is still getting official Lineage 17.1 (Android 10) builds despite been 6 years old. That really is a testament to how good some of the older HTC phones were for the community to support them for so long. Then theirs the legendary HTC HD 2… It would be nice to see HTC make a return as I really did like HTC devices.1 point -
Anybody ever heard of and used the SuperBird browser?
Jim K reacted to Nick H. for a topic
I hadn't heard about it until you mentioned it, but there are a couple of things that make me wary. The first would be your mention of there being different versions depending on where you download it from. Are they just different version numbers, or is there something else going on there? The second thing that concerns me is the website. There are errors in the language, there is a section that says "video placeholder," and there is their boast that no information is sent to Google and it is protected against PRISM. That is all well and good, but from a quick look I have no idea where the information is sent.1 point -
Anybody ever heard of and used the SuperBird browser?
mlongue1 reacted to +Biscuits Brown for a topic
Never heard of it. Taking a look, the first thing that pops out is the lack of information. The second link 'looks' like the actual site however there is almost no information about who is creating this browser. To say there is no malware is misleading. How could anyone know if its just not tracking and grabbing everything you do on the web. Without looking at the source, you just have to trust it. Now that said, we do normally trust the popular alternative chromium based browsers because they have demonstrated their claims. Brave, Vivaldi, Opera and even the new Edge are all secure and chromium based but none are created by an unknown source. Personally I'd skip this one.1 point -

Why not use the Google brand for this, it makes no sense to me especially when you think about the way MS has changed branding over the years and that’s all about Microsoft. I couldn't agree more, they should be branded Google, it's tied purely to Google services and even on the already Nest branded products, you say "ok google" to get it to do anything. Unless that changes... "Hey Nest" - "Ok Nest" (this is long overdue a customisation at this point either way) Anyone who is savvy enough to worry about privacy will know to avoid smart products at all, I can't see a rebrand changing that.1 point -

It honestly makes no sense why fresh start was were it was, it makes sense to take it out of there and put it where Reset PC was/is for all this time. It's the same thing but named different and in two different locations, no sense. They should've been clear about the change though, someone missed the memo it seems.1 point -

Similar here. I'm running a Dell 4K photography focused screen that I'll still keep, but wouldn't mind a gaming monitor to plug in when required. Well stay close from the toilets because SQ42 have thousands of pages and like it or not, CR did made good to memorable space games, including the Wing Commander's. SQ42 is nothing but WC on steroids. Pretending a guy (and its team) whith such background and with such amount of talented and cash can't deliver nothing but crap is at best a shorcut to be nice. You have no clue about who did effectively write or re-write SQ42 story... which is made of 3 episodes. So an ex-Holywood producer have no idea what is required to write a good scenario? In fact you have many questions marks in your comment but decided than whatever the answer, that won't make it for you. Pessimiste rarely join crowdfunded project so it is not really a problem Spoken like a true SC sucker. "Thousands of pages" of drivel is MEANINGLESS if it's all tripe. The original Wing Commander the game was cute in its day but doesn't compare with anything modern. And the reason Roberts is an "ex-Hollywood producer" is because of the dreck that is Wing Commander THE MOVIE. Notice how you couldn't defend the writers? Or anything recently from Roberts? But instead you attack people with legitimate criticism born of facts. Why didn't Roberts hire a professional writer or writers? People FAR more experienced and better than he is at everything creative. Could it be his ego? Yeah, I think it's his ego... Regardless, your ill-informed rabid defense of this never-ending, ever-expanding $250 million tech demo is precisely why smart people are right to take a wait and see attitude.1 point -

There are a place to find information about SC lore: robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link?series=writers-guide This is 7 years out of date and is just a collection of some of the worst formatted blogspam I've ever seen. It has nothing to do with the writing team, their experience, or credentials. Since you can't back up your previous claim, I did the search for you: From https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5...lcredits?ref_=tt_cl_sm#cast There are three "writers" credited on Squadron 42. One is a sound mixer who has been apparently contributing story elements to the main SC tech demo. The second is a webisode writer (with apparently minor contributions to an actual video game!) who has been contributing to the main SC tech demo as well. And the third had been an assistant to a producer before this. Ahem. That's what Roberts thinks $250 MILLION buys as far as what should be one of the most important jobs at his GAME/STORYTELLING company?! Did he even try to bring in someone with actual screenwriting/narrative experience (let alone sci-fi/fantasy experience)?! Sure doesn't look like it to me. My expectations for S42 are in the toilet now. Thanks.1 point
