  6. NO lives tiles here, Windows phone was a miserable failure. This is obviously not Windows Phone. It was a failure for a number of reasons but their live tiles and lockscreen were way ahead of time.

  7. Completely, and absolutely, moronic. Yet unfortunately it does not surprise me. Way to absolutely destroy any loyalty you may have started to foster in native Xbox streaming... Are Microsoft going to kill Xbox branded services on PC soon? Wouldn't bet against it...

  8. NO lives tiles here, Windows phone was a miserable failure. This is obviously not Windows Phone. Auto-refreshing widgets, auto readjustment of other items on the home screen, 1x1 app icons living along with 2x2, 4x2 and 4x4 widgets, apps arranged alphabetically in a list view in app library. "Doesn't look like anything to me" Also, why are you so riled up when I was talking about some random people on the Internet? Are you one of them? You can keep listing features but Windows Phone is gone, it failed. It was an expensive and miserable failure for many reasons. Was it too soon, too late? Not enough? Too much? Were people dumb for not liking it? Windows Phone is very gone. Live tiles have gone in Windows. No one wanted lives tiles, no one asked for lives tiles. This is not tiles. Apparently, it is the same Live Tiles that still lives on in Windows 10. Hardly gone. So what if Windows Phone failed. Yes it did. Not denying. But why are you denying that this isn't Live Tiles? Why are you denying that Apple took *cough* inspiration *cough* from Live Tiles? Can you show me how this is different from Live Tiles? Is it because the widget is not a perfect square? It's not live tiles. Why are you insisting its live tiles? If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, isn't it a duck? If you look for ducks then you will see ducks. So show me how is it different from Live Tiles? Clearly they aren't Live Tiles because Live Tiles were dumb and failed therefore these aren't Live Tiles, duh. /s "It's not the same!" "Why?" "Because it's different!"

  12. Apple introduces macOS Big Sur with the big design changes

So you are confirming that Apple is following Microsoft's vision. Is that correct? Except Apple seems to be actually pulling it off where Microsoft on the other hand is in shambles and can't seem to pick themselves up .... I want Microsoft to succeed with ARM and such but they seem to be tripping over every attempt and Apple's translator seems to put Microsoft to shame between the 2 ARM implementations

  13. I must say, their UI is consistent across products. It is unfortunate the Microsoft has not been able to do that in Windows. Dare I say, a consistent UI might make some of the quirks in the OS even more bearable.

  22. Nintendo is reportedly backing away from mobile games

They aren't stupid. They know if they made decent mobile games nobody would by a switch. Let's face it, the latest mobiles/tablets are more than powerful enough to match the switch hardware. I bet if they made mario kart 9 for the A13 Bionic or SD865 it would actually play better than the switch.

  24. Microsoft is pushing out its new Edge browser to Windows 7 and 8.1

Not only that but some OEM PCs can't even get W10. My mother AIO from Dell couldn't run W8 or 10 without going insane. Unless that machine is WELL over a decade old, I'm calling BS on that. Most of my family is running recycled machines that I picked up from thrift stores, did a few upgrades on (usually RAM and hard drives), and all of them are running Windows 10 with zero issues. These machines are anywhere from about 2008-2012 vintage.

  31. Is this the end of Hackintosh? Considering that ARM still cannot compete on the high end? No. Eventually? Maybe. By that time, I suspect we will have valid ARM alternatives. Not just performance, x86 tends to be more standardised and open/less blocked of own, thus you don't face the trouble of 'flashing ROMs' or driver issues like you would on ARM Chromebooks and tablets.

The 2 in 1 is now my theater PC. Because the only audio that works on it is over HDMI, it's perfect! I can hook it up to my receiver which hooks up to my projector. Hooked it up and ran it through it's paces, including 7.1 surround sound test clips. Everything ran perfect!

Give Brave a try; it works quite well. It's my primary browser at work. It sounds like your banking site uses 'Cross-Site Cookies' which most browsers block by default now but Brave gives an easy toggle to enable per site on their security menu btw, the 'Cross-site trackers' is the built in adblock which I have disabled for Neowin specifically 🙂.

So I can replace it, or update it or whatever... But just saying your machine is not ready is just nonsense.. Sure billy bob user doesn't know or care - but where is the button for those that do want to know can get the info.. Or for that matter command I need to run...

no, it's more of an issue with your banks site. Cross-Site cookies are frowned upon because of security concerns; that's why most browsers block them by default now. your bank really should update their setup. Cross-Site Cookies are also known as 3rd Party Cookies. here's an interesting read if you'd like https://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/third-party-cookie-phase-out
