It's looking like late 2020 or for sure 2021 is going to be do or die time for Intel at this rate. 10th gen isn't much to talk about, anyone with a 8xxx or 9xxx cpu might as well just stick with those for now. Let's see what 11th gen can do.3 points -

Your responses are a joke. YOU DO NOT HAVE A RECORD. NOBODY CAN LEGALLY FIND OUT ABOUT YOUR ARREST. IT CANNOT LEGALLY AFFECT YOUR FUTURE EMPLOYMENT. But hey, if “people on reddit” say otherwise, go bug them! And for the record, the thing that will hold you back is your attitude more than anything else!3 points -

Well this is going round in circles, I'm not sure what the point in asking the question was when you seem to have already made up your mind. Being self-employed is tough. You can't guarantee a steady paycheck, you don't get covered for things like medical insurance. It's almost always better to have a steady job.3 points -

64-bit Chrome for Android will soon arrive with improved performance
cacoe and one other reacted to Felipe Pessoto for a topic
There is a lot of misconception about 32vs 64bits. -if you phone has 16gb ram, doesn't means your apps need to run on 64bits, specially chrome that creates a process for each tab. Each 32bits process can use up to 4gb of memory, you usually have many apps running, so you can feel the benefits of 16gb of ram, even with 32bits apps - if you have the exactly same app running on 32 and 64 bits, chances are the 32 bits version is faster and consumes less memory, because all pointers in 64bits process all 2x bigger. So every time the processor needs to load something from ram, it will takes more time. - 64bits code is bigger, what makes the binaries bigger and slower to load. - yes, the 64 bits chrome can be faster, because of more optimized jit, criptography and compression apis are usually better too. But in general it is not a magical solution -chrome already consumes a lot of ram, it will make consume even more2 points -

That's it. I'm not sure why you came here after the 'experts' on reddit already 'punked' you into believing something that isn't even close to reality only to completely blow off everything we are saying. Listen to whomever you want. We said it's a nothing burger. The online legal advise you got said it was a nothing burger. Some strangers on reddit convinced you that you're doomed and that's all that seems to matter. At this point I'm inclined to say your non-record is impeding your ability to have a career but its not because of the arrest but instead it's you're belief that it is the cause. Why don't you simply go talk to a recruiter? Go talk to a placement counselor at your school? Will you believe them more than strangers on reddit? I'm thinking you won't. I'm not sure why you think reddit is a be-all end -all. Honestly, that's the last place I'd ever go for something like this. As Nick said, yeah, just be self employed. That's the answer. What skills will you be bringing to the table? What is your prior experience? Those will be the defining traits that will determine your success as a self employed individual. Is your presentation more upbeat, polished and professional than it comes across here? That may be something you need to work on before taking that step.2 points -

I don't consider it to be a joke, I answered your question. I also didn't touch on your lack of a criminal record because others here have already told you that it doesn't matter. But since it seems that you only want to hear an answer that you've decided on, ok. Being self-employed is always the way to go, and it's so easy to do! Is that a better answer for you?2 points -

Dude, I'm going to be painfully blunt, it's fine being skeptical, but your borderline paranoid, grow some ###### balls, reword your resume and apply yourself to a damned job. Stop dwelling on a damned expunged misdemeanor, all your doing is finding an excuse to bitch about why you haven't gotten the job you want when it's actually quite frankly, your attitude thats holding you back. I've developed talent while I was a DBA and I've encountered many people like you whom give up because they didn't get the job they wanted, however I was also blunt with them also and helped in getting them the job they wanted and they all thanked me afterwards since I typically am right when it comes down to the reasons why they didn't get it the first time around. Be it there not dedicated enough to their current role, attitude problems, confidence/self-esteem issues, knowledge, or just plain not wanting the position enough.1 point -

Pakistan bans "addictive" PUBG citing health concerns
dustojnikhummer reacted to Tuskd for a topic
What about drugs? I'm sure I don't need to explain the difference between a video game and something like coke. Exactly the point I wanted to convey. You group drugs and games is different buckets. One is in "That's OK" bucket and the other is in "Ban it!" Bucket. In some "developed countries/places" weed for recreational use is still in "Ban it!" bucket but for others it's OK. Even the US banned alcohol in the 1920s. Poly marriages are still perfectly alright in some societies. My point is, something can be made legal/banned by the authorities writing something on a piece of paper. But how they reach that conclusion is based on many things, In my opinion, like the societal construct, the perception of harm to an individual, the ability to police it (as dustojnikhunmer stated) and just about looking at the pros and cons of banning something. So it is not up to us in an armchair to decide whether something happening in another legal jurisdiction is legal or not. If something needs to be changed, it will, as long as there is popular support to it (at least in a democracy). Not all games were banned, just PUBG.1 point -

Motherboard Recommendations
+hedleigh reacted to goretsky for a topic
Hello, Gigabyte still makes motherboards in Taiwan. ASRock, ASUS, Biostar, ECS, and MSI at one point made their motherboards in Taiwan, however, I do not know if they currently still do, or some are made in China. BCM Advanced Research designs in the US and Taiwan, and manufactures in Taiwan. EVGA designs in the US, but I am unsure where they manufacture. I believe Raptor Computing Systems designs and builds in the US. Supermicro does the majority of its design as well as does final assembly in Fremont, CA, but outsources production to suppliers in China and Taiwan (they reportedly moved production out of China last year). System 76 is designed and manufactured in the US with domestic and foreign components, as are some Dell, Lenovo and Hewlett-Packard systems. Trenton Systems designs and builds in the US. Tyan manufacturers in China. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky1 point -

Linux Mint 20 ISOs finalised, release due in the coming days [Update]
motang reacted to freedom40 for a topic
It seems to still be getting updates on 19.3, I think it just affects Linux Mint 20. They're using two different package bases so I think 19.3 will continue serving Chromium just fine. So I wonder if Linux Mint 20 will stop getting updates for Chromium. You cannot install Chromium from the software manager in Mint 20 at all. It is listed but it won't install. They provide a link in the software manager to download Chromium from the Chromium website though where you can find downloads without snapd bundled. Linux should be about Freedom. Most distros offer Chromium as an alternative. However Mint thinks they know whats best for their users Unfortunately, it is feeling more and more like Microsoft Windows. I am glad that I am free to choose a distro that does not force users into specific software, particularly when is is opensource.1 point -

@forster yeah, that's unfortunate about LiteIcon - although in the past the author was kind enough to spend some time writing back if there was an indication of LiteIcon working with Catalina as an example. It's of course very early and the author might now have given that app a thought just yet. I however hope he has. At this point I'm afraid to ask. I've also been fond of the Bluecurve icons or the Tango icons. There's many iconsets that are classic - even the folders of Amiga GlowIcons are up there - that last statement is because of my history with AmigaOS I can't let that OS go - not in my mind and certainly not in my heart.1 point -
