Had two customers call me about this, this morning. Found a reddit thread with a fix. Confirmed it fix both machines. I'm guessing Microsoft will eventually fix it and push down a fix. But if you are in a pinch and need outlook.exe working now. cd “\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun” then: officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.6366.20623 points -

"copied files from stick (on first attemp of install)" For clarification....you didn't just copy the installation files from the USB drive onto the new SSD and then try to boot? You booted with the USB drive, it started installing and then on a reboot...you got that error...right? Just clarifying.2 points -

Eventually there won’t be any place left to run. We keep allowing these mergers to go through and not holding them accountable will cause these conglomerates to have more and more control and influence in our lives. People are too busy and ignorant with their lives to be bothered with until it’s too late.2 points -

Can we please disable the plugin that deletes items on the ground? I lost all my stuff because I died and all my items were all over the ground (apparently keep inventory doesn't work in the nether) and by the time I got back to where I died, less than a minute, the plugin had deleted all my items. Given that we have very few people online at any one time, I don't believe that items on the ground are causing any appreciable lag. It would also be great if we could work out why keep inventory isn't working in the nether. I've now lost 3 elytra there.2 points -

Google disables Windows 10's new RAM usage fix on Chrome 85 as it caused high CPU usage
Erikas and one other reacted to xrobwx71 for a topic
I'm not about what browser I think is the best or what browser another person doesn't think is the best. I use Chrome because it works and works well for me and my business across many different hardware configs. I have It on 15+ computers including, laptops and about 8 phones. I am integrated into the Google ecosystem and use their other apps as well. The above has nothing whatsoever to do with being a fanboy. If you don't like it, don't use it. Super simple. I never think about how much memory it uses as it never causes me any issues, on any computer I have occasion to use whether it be personal, business or my Mom's, various friends and other Family. It's simply not a problem for me. I have a gaming rig and when I game, I can have Chrome open with 12+ tabs and never know its there. I don't see the uproar.2 points -

This doesn't look to be a issue of 2FA, this looks to be direct hack on twitters server and some one got admin access and can pretty much do whatever to any ones account. EU court says Apple doesn't need to pay a backlog of tax
wingliston reacted to Brony for a topic
They didn't get special status, though. That's the whole point and the reason the EU failed at this. The EU was just being the EU and knee-jerking at a chance to get some more funding out of an American company without doing the due diligence that would've made it super freaking clear that Ireland in no way singled out Apple. Since this loop hole is taken advantage of by many more companies than just Apple, it's more fair to say that the EU singled out Apple with this lawsuit. I don't think a Mom and Pop business is able to run without paying all taxes. In this case, Apple is guilty but it won the right not to pay previous taxes. And Ireland doesn't want that money, why? because it is a filthy rich country.1 point -

Sony could nearly double its PlayStation 5 production to meet growing demand
MateerL reacted to George P for a topic
It's not really a companies job to screw over scalpers. It's the consumers who need to do that - Just don't bloody buy stuff from them. If everyone waited and bought it direct then scalping as a concept would die off. As time goes on with all this technology and the internet in general, digital buying, I'm seeing that people just can't wait at all for anything anymore. I've stopped buying anything on day 1, long ago. Not only is it going to cost you more, you'll also have to put up with all the early bugs and any mission features that, as far as games go, they'll try to sell you later as DLC.1 point -

Google disables Windows 10's new RAM usage fix on Chrome 85 as it caused high CPU usage
xrobwx71 reacted to Elliot B. for a topic
When other browsers, often using the same chromium engine, render the same website, the same way, but use a good bit less RAM to do so, don't you at least wonder why? You think maybe it's all the extra Google specific stuff they've added on top that does god knows what when you're using Chrome? It's just preloading web pages etc. If the RAM's there, use it, as long as it's given up if needed by other programs. Which is exactly what happens.1 point -
Scratch on motherboard help please
spikey_richie reacted to OphiuchusOops for a topic
It looks like there are only two traces there. There are a couple concerns... There is copper bridging the two traces -- Check for any scratched copper between the traces. Take a wooden toothpick with a sharp tip and scrape between the copper traces The scratch went deep -- Did the scratches fully penetrate the copper traces and you can see the insulation of the circuit board (looks like it'd be black) Copper traces are exposed -- I don't think this will be a huge deal. You could take a small piece of electrical tape and place is over the scratch. When it comes to inspecting this stuff, more light and more magnification is the key. Set your cell phone to video record mode, turn on the flash, and zoom in... in a pinch I use that as an illuminated magnifier and it works decent. Feel free to post a clearer photo if you can get one. Good luck!1 point -
