Can we please disable the plugin that deletes items on the ground? I lost all my stuff because I died and all my items were all over the ground (apparently keep inventory doesn't work in the nether) and by the time I got back to where I died, less than a minute, the plugin had deleted all my items. Given that we have very few people online at any one time, I don't believe that items on the ground are causing any appreciable lag. It would also be great if we could work out why keep inventory isn't working in the nether. I've now lost 3 elytra there.2 points -

Google disables Windows 10's new RAM usage fix on Chrome 85 as it caused high CPU usage
Erikas and one other reacted to xrobwx71 for a topic
I'm not about what browser I think is the best or what browser another person doesn't think is the best. I use Chrome because it works and works well for me and my business across many different hardware configs. I have It on 15+ computers including, laptops and about 8 phones. I am integrated into the Google ecosystem and use their other apps as well. The above has nothing whatsoever to do with being a fanboy. If you don't like it, don't use it. Super simple. I never think about how much memory it uses as it never causes me any issues, on any computer I have occasion to use whether it be personal, business or my Mom's, various friends and other Family. It's simply not a problem for me. I have a gaming rig and when I game, I can have Chrome open with 12+ tabs and never know its there. I don't see the uproar.2 points -

Lenovo's ThinkStation P620 is the first workstation with AMD's 64-core Threadripper PRO
WA7ER reacted to Mobius Enigma for a topic
Actually it isn't bad, especially when you consider that this system will have several times the CPU performance and 10x or more the GPU performance of the fastest $60,000 Mac Pro configuration. Several times? Says who? AMD's own web site shows the top-end 3995WX at 20% faster in AfterEffects than the Xeon W 3275, which is the top-end CPU in the Mac Pro. You'd think they'd choose a different benchmark if there was a bigger gap, wouldn't you? Also, comparing to the "$60,000 Mac Pro" is silly... the spec tops out at about 54k, for one thing, and 25k of that is for 1.5TB memory -- which is 50% more than you can spec this upcoming ThinkStation with. Say who? Anyone that can do math... Take ANY turing Optix enhanced graphics software title, from Premiere to Blender, and compare it to highest end Radeon Pro Apple sells. The differences is dramatic, and this isn't even touching the real-time effects available on RTX, with real-time ray tracing previews, etc. Sure Navi 2 will help here, but that will be an additional cost. Now go look at the Maximum Xeon cores you can buy in the Mac Pro - then do the math. How is this 'news' to people that can go watch demonstrations or buy equipment and test it themselves? Apple HAS NEVER BEEN a GRAPHICAL or PROCESSING powerhouse. The myth that 'Macs are good for graphics.' was ONLY true in the mid 1980s. Starting in the 90s, WIndows had accelerated GPU options from the 8514 to the ATI Vantage and other similar options, moving forward to full 2D and 3D acceleration technologies that did not work on MacOS. So just using the time frame of 90-95 - rendering pages in Quark or Pagemaker or Illustrator was often 20-30x faster on Windows with an accelerated video card. Even when Apple did start to offer 2D acceleration in Macs - it was slow in comparison. (I literally had to buy print shops PCs to render and print work I was doing in the early 90s, as something that took maybe 30 seconds to draw on a PC - took over 10 minutes to draw on the fastest Mac available.) In the early 00s, Macs had a 3D compositor, but was using slow display postscript and poor 3D frameworks. One reason bungie even talked to Microsoft is that their plans for a Mac sequel of Marathon ran like crap on Macs compared to Windows due to the differences in 3D technologies and frameworks. Want one final example? Go look up what Adobe had to say about Apple and 'Graphics' around 2005 - they FINALLY had to flat out tell their customers to STOP BUYING MACS, they are SLOWER. Over the years, even when MacOS was doing things well, the hardware options offered by Apple was a joke. Mas had low resolution screens at a time when 1920x1200 was common on PCs (2004 era) - mid range GPUs, and mid range CPUs. There were almost always GPU options for PCs/Windows that are 2x or more faster than the high end GPU offered in the Mac Pro or Macbook Pro by Apple. So Benchmark...BIGGER GAP? - The benchmark I am referring to is reality. Try it sometime. Grab tools like the GPU updated Premiere or DaVinci Resolve - go grab any 3D software package that still works on MacOS. Try Unity or Unreal - and notice, not only are they slower than ###### on a Mac, you can't do ray tracing or dozens of other more advanced technologies - 3D technologies are nearly 3 years old on Windows now. Head over to YouTube - there are people that demonstrate this crap, in case you don't want to see the results or do any 'work' yourself. FFS (It will literally take forever to deprogram people, just so they can notice the crap Apple is often giving them as 'the best' is slow as ###### in comparison to PCs and lacking massive numbers of features.)1 point -

Nothing Disrupts the System Like an Inquisitive Mind
mudslag reacted to +Dick Montage for a topic
It starts with a lie. The first claim the guy makes is utterly untrue! ”Quarantine is a term used for the certified sick” No it’s not. It means segregation to determine and then address any potential sickness. When an animal comes into the country and is placed into quarantine, it’s not because the animal IS sick, it’s because it MAY BE sick or carrying bugs. When you quarantine a file, it’s not because it IS malware, it’s because you want to check and then delete it. So of the first argument made is entirely wrong, why would I have any faith to engage any further? You bringing this here is nothing more than an indication of the level of nonsense that you either believe or wish to push upon others. So either you are mentally lacking or deliberately circulating disinformation.1 point -
