  2. People at Softbank must be idiots if they are thinking of selling ARM and just show how ###### investment companies are. ARM is licensing stuff to almost all companies that make any kind of portable device. That's hundreds of millions of devices worldwide. Billions even. And they'd... sell it. Only someone who looks for a quick buck would do this. Someone with long term business plan to make billions and billions for years to come would stick with it and just made sure it would be even better at what it does. But hey, that's how corporate world works today. No one cares about long term stability and long term profits. Everyone just wants to make quick bucks and then kill it off. And then everyone wonders why there aren't any good companies around. I wonder why...

  3. EU court says Apple doesn't need to pay a backlog of tax

Why is it great news? Apple does business in countries where they refuse to pay proper taxes like every other smaller company has to. Tax evasion will allow them to save money, which will benefit their customers, e.g., removing the charger, and cutting down on battery capacity for the next generation of iPhones while keeping the price the same.

  9. It did. Some idiots been spreading g all sorts of fake news and nonsense....oh..wait.. This is evidence of the pure left wing ignorance most of you have. Trump uses Twitter to actually bypass the lies from the media to tell the American people the unfiltered truth. Here you are yearning to be lied to by the main stream media. This is why you will continue to lose. It pleases me. The fact you believe everything he tweets as the "unfiltered truth" is hilarious to me. You want to rip on the left for believing everything the mainstream media says but at the same time you're going to believe everything your right wing leaders tell you, without question? That's pretty hypocritical right there.

  10. ah yes... I remember in the 90's I walked around with a stack of floppy disks to get games from my friends... I guess in the new generation will remember this as "I remember in the 20's I walked around with a stack of DVDs to install one game".

  13. The Xbox Series X will not support games that require Kinect

This is sad. They could have allowed compatibility as the rest of the games are backwards compatible (same processor architecture and OS) and the Kinect connects via USB. Most likely they didn't want to ensure compatibility and invest resources in testing and future software support and bug fixes.

When was the last time it ever benefited consumers? lol. This doesn't benefit the people because that lose in tax revenue means the public have to foot that by either higher taxes or less spending on public services. In any case, it's unlikely this is the last of it because the EU seems to want to make sure companies pay their fair share in taxes and will likely just find other ways to do it, especially now thanks to the pandemic. Read his comment again and realize it is a satire mate

  25. Ah, the "usual update screwing up something that used to work." How many years has this condition existed? Windows-7 just keeps looking better and better, even with the flaws that MS acknowledges. At least it is reliable.

  29. EU court says Apple doesn't need to pay a backlog of tax

They didn't get special status, though. That's the whole point and the reason the EU failed at this. The EU was just being the EU and knee-jerking at a chance to get some more funding out of an American company without doing the due diligence that would've made it super freaking clear that Ireland in no way singled out Apple. Since this loop hole is taken advantage of by many more companies than just Apple, it's more fair to say that the EU singled out Apple with this lawsuit. I don't think a Mom and Pop business is able to run without paying all taxes. In this case, Apple is guilty but it won the right not to pay previous taxes. And Ireland doesn't want that money, why? because it is a filthy rich country.

  32. Office 365 outlook.exe Faulting module name: mso98win32client.dll

Had two customers call me about this, this morning. Found a reddit thread with a fix. Confirmed it fix both machines. I'm guessing Microsoft will eventually fix it and push down a fix. But if you are in a pinch and need outlook.exe working now. cd “\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun” then: officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.6366.2062

  33. Office 365 outlook.exe Faulting module name: mso98win32client.dll

The root issue appears to have been an update to the Microsoft infrastructure that Microsoft Office applications connect to when opening. Apparently, this issue also affected Office 2019 (non-cloud Office versions) One major question comes to mind - Who the F* authorized a middle of the work day (for USA), untested update to the back-end infrastructure that millions of Microsoft Office applications rely on?! Completely ridiculous!

  38. Lenovo announces a bunch of AMD-powered gaming PCs

"AMD Ryzen 9 3950X 16-core processor with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER GPU. You can get it with dual 1TB PCIe SSDs, dual 2TB HDDs, and up to 128GB 3200MHz DDR4 memory. It's coming in October, starting at $829.99." The CPU alone is $689. What's the price for the model the spec is listed out for? And what do you get for $829?

  39. So, not "hacking" then? Using credentials or access that you've managed to socially engineer an internal Twitter employee into giving you isn't hacking. Quite why internal employees even have access to post tweets as their users is what is baffling. What business would a twitter employee ever have with such functionality?

  40. Could end up they remove control panel, and don't have all the functionality ported over..... Control Panel itself is a mess and always was, lots of the links you find there open up even older dialog boxes that date back to Windows 9x. Those same links can just as well be moved into the Settings app and then replaced over time.
