  2. People at Softbank must be idiots if they are thinking of selling ARM and just show how ###### investment companies are. ARM is licensing stuff to almost all companies that make any kind of portable device. That's hundreds of millions of devices worldwide. Billions even. And they'd... sell it. Only someone who looks for a quick buck would do this. Someone with long term business plan to make billions and billions for years to come would stick with it and just made sure it would be even better at what it does. But hey, that's how corporate world works today. No one cares about long term stability and long term profits. Everyone just wants to make quick bucks and then kill it off. And then everyone wonders why there aren't any good companies around. I wonder why...

  3. EU court says Apple doesn't need to pay a backlog of tax

Why is it great news? Apple does business in countries where they refuse to pay proper taxes like every other smaller company has to. Tax evasion will allow them to save money, which will benefit their customers, e.g., removing the charger, and cutting down on battery capacity for the next generation of iPhones while keeping the price the same.

  9. It did. Some idiots been spreading g all sorts of fake news and nonsense....oh..wait.. This is evidence of the pure left wing ignorance most of you have. Trump uses Twitter to actually bypass the lies from the media to tell the American people the unfiltered truth. Here you are yearning to be lied to by the main stream media. This is why you will continue to lose. It pleases me. The fact you believe everything he tweets as the "unfiltered truth" is hilarious to me. You want to rip on the left for believing everything the mainstream media says but at the same time you're going to believe everything your right wing leaders tell you, without question? That's pretty hypocritical right there.

  10. ah yes... I remember in the 90's I walked around with a stack of floppy disks to get games from my friends... I guess in the new generation will remember this as "I remember in the 20's I walked around with a stack of DVDs to install one game".

  13. The Xbox Series X will not support games that require Kinect

This is sad. They could have allowed compatibility as the rest of the games are backwards compatible (same processor architecture and OS) and the Kinect connects via USB. Most likely they didn't want to ensure compatibility and invest resources in testing and future software support and bug fixes.

When was the last time it ever benefited consumers? lol. This doesn't benefit the people because that lose in tax revenue means the public have to foot that by either higher taxes or less spending on public services. In any case, it's unlikely this is the last of it because the EU seems to want to make sure companies pay their fair share in taxes and will likely just find other ways to do it, especially now thanks to the pandemic. Read his comment again and realize it is a satire mate

  29. EU court says Apple doesn't need to pay a backlog of tax

They didn't get special status, though. That's the whole point and the reason the EU failed at this. The EU was just being the EU and knee-jerking at a chance to get some more funding out of an American company without doing the due diligence that would've made it super freaking clear that Ireland in no way singled out Apple. Since this loop hole is taken advantage of by many more companies than just Apple, it's more fair to say that the EU singled out Apple with this lawsuit. I don't think a Mom and Pop business is able to run without paying all taxes. In this case, Apple is guilty but it won the right not to pay previous taxes. And Ireland doesn't want that money, why? because it is a filthy rich country.

And Ireland doesn't want that money, why? because it is a filthy rich country. Tom and Betsy's Shoe Shinery isn't the same kind of business and is going to be taxed differently. Whether that's right or wrong has nothing to do with my comments here. It's a simple matter of there being nowhere in the world that I'm aware of where your local pho spot plays by the same rules as a conglomerate. This is blaming one company for a system they're simply operating under. They don't owe back taxes because there were no taxes required of them that they didn't pay. This is essentially the EU saying Ireland's rules should be different and also applied retroactively against just one company. Like it or not, there's an objective truth that doesn't care about the outrage of an internet commenter.

  42. Steady journey? Another 20 years maybe. Settings is barely usable as the control panel. Also that settings icon is total rip off of the one in Android. https://play.google.com/store/...ndroid.webview&hl=en_US The icon is just a icon, I don't make a big deal of it. I'm hardly jumping into settings 24/7 anyways, and I haven't had the need to bring up anything in the old control panel for years. There's a good chunk of controls in the settings app right now that covers the needs of, I'd say, 95% of Windows users out there.

Ended up using the version below: cd “\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun” officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.12827.20470

  47. So I'm probably naive, but I've had wireless charging before, and it seems pretty meh to me. Why would I want to place my phone on a surface to charge it when I could hook it to a cable and still use it while it's charging? I feel like of all things, I'd prefer my laptop to be wirelessly charged, not my phone, because I can use it while it's sitting there. But even then, a cable just seems better and more efficient. I do feel like chargers should learn from Apple and Microsoft and be magnetic.

  50. I think SFS is going to be a game changer, specially once it comes to PC in a future Windows update. Smarter streaming of textures, IMO, is more effective than just trying to brute force larger textures through higher speeds which also brings more heat, and also kills your SSD faster. That 2.5x increase in I/O on average over the raw numbers, if true across all games, is big. All of the above together should help keep newer game sizes down as well, I really don't want a 200GB game in a few years.
