  1. Is this the perfect Neowin article? Ample links to both Neowin and original sources, each feature explained in a separate paragraph, took the time to get a decent screengrab explaining the feature (as well as reminding users they are in Neowin ). Appreciate it

If you find something offensive, just don't use it. Something being offensive or not is subjective. What one person finds offensive, another person may not. If we remove everything that anyone could possibly find offensive, then there will be nothing left.

For the record, folks, Kudlow is a joke in the economic world. He's a true kook of the lowest order. Which, of course, is the only reason he'd work for the Trump administration.

  7. isn't that different? TR CPU's are in plastic carriers, you have to make sure its in the carrier right if it came out... you have to move two brackets, one retainer and one clip down... place the TR CPU into the retainer, push it down, push the clip down part down, put screws in a specific order and torque them using a special torque driver the CPU comes with vs Intel Release level, pop up retainer, align cpu put down close retainer put clip down lever back down

"Going forward, the rate of phone sales will largely depend on whether people have maintained their jobs after the crisis is over and have the money to spare for items like smartphones" You got that right.

  10. What great build quality for a $900 Android flagship device. OEMs should follow Google's lead and strive for similar or poorer quality with their devices.

  11. You're thinking of Kabir Siddiqui. It's a straightforward idea, what else could they do? It would have made more sense on the case however, I see a lot of posts about broken kickstands and then you have to take in the device for servicing instead of just the cover. It seems unnecessarily complex and more delicate.

What emoji is offensive? Anything than resemble white emojis, nuclear family, and binary sexuality for example. Also. 👌 could be considered racist (why? beats me). Also, 🍆 could be offensive. in the peak period of the witch hunt, even the word "furniture" was considered racist or sexist or something offensive.

I have a power strip with multiple adapters in it, and I think this one got loose or forgotten to be plugged in... Plugged it in, Notebook is charging from 2% (and up now). Lucky me. Stupid me.

  29. The Xbox Series X will not support games that require Kinect

This is sad. They could have allowed compatibility as the rest of the games are backwards compatible (same processor architecture and OS) and the Kinect connects via USB. Most likely they didn't want to ensure compatibility and invest resources in testing and future software support and bug fixes.

  34. Lenovo announces a bunch of AMD-powered gaming PCs

"AMD Ryzen 9 3950X 16-core processor with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER GPU. You can get it with dual 1TB PCIe SSDs, dual 2TB HDDs, and up to 128GB 3200MHz DDR4 memory. It's coming in October, starting at $829.99." The CPU alone is $689. What's the price for the model the spec is listed out for? And what do you get for $829?

  35. This will push everyone to RISC V. ARM is shooting itself in the foot by being too greasy.
    1 point
  36. This sudden pricing change might be pressure back up the chain. When people think 'free market' and capitalism, they never seem to notice or understand how it creates monopoly like leverage and price increases up the supply chain.** For example, say a company like Apple, decided to change to a new CPU platform, like ARM, and they wanted to eliminate as much competition as possible while avoiding legal or market backlash... They could have pushed a deal to increase their own licensing contributions, and use their new licensing terms to dictate pricing to other companies, selectively or completely eliminating all competition in the ARM CPU architecture space. (Add in some feature implementations with market dominance, and Apple essentially fully takes over ARM.) Apple did something similar to this with Motorola in the 80s. ** This is why without oversight/regulation, capitalism isn't any different than systems like feudalism.

  38. It did. Some idiots been spreading g all sorts of fake news and nonsense....oh..wait.. This is evidence of the pure left wing ignorance most of you have. Trump uses Twitter to actually bypass the lies from the media to tell the American people the unfiltered truth. Here you are yearning to be lied to by the main stream media. This is why you will continue to lose. It pleases me. The fact you believe everything he tweets as the "unfiltered truth" is hilarious to me. You want to rip on the left for believing everything the mainstream media says but at the same time you're going to believe everything your right wing leaders tell you, without question? That's pretty hypocritical right there.

Give it up google, no one is interested in your chat or social media platforms. Constantly shoving them down our throat, by trying to integrate them with something successful will never work. You couldn't kill email with "wave" you couldn't kill Office with "sheets" you haven't been able to kill chat or facebook with hangouts you haven't been able to get people to use a google account to watch or comment on youtube, better watch out TikTok is coming for Youtube!

I work in a large hospital as a critical care RN and have seen the deaths from this pandemic first hand. I work with COVID-19 patients and I have seen entire families die from this virus. This video is total cr@p. Anyone who believes this is an utter fool. I guess that this is Darwinism at it's best.

  43. Nothing Disrupts the System Like an Inquisitive Mind

It starts with a lie. The first claim the guy makes is utterly untrue! ”Quarantine is a term used for the certified sick” No it’s not. It means segregation to determine and then address any potential sickness. When an animal comes into the country and is placed into quarantine, it’s not because the animal IS sick, it’s because it MAY BE sick or carrying bugs. When you quarantine a file, it’s not because it IS malware, it’s because you want to check and then delete it. So of the first argument made is entirely wrong, why would I have any faith to engage any further? You bringing this here is nothing more than an indication of the level of nonsense that you either believe or wish to push upon others. So either you are mentally lacking or deliberately circulating disinformation.

  46. Oh let me see... Chrome became super important to Google as people were moving away from the Google Toolbar and so their lucrative clickstream data began to dry up. And so naturally it was (and still is) rammed down people's throats whenever you use Google services. It was sneakily installed alongside Flash years ago. You had to work out that you needed to untick the box on Adobe's download page to avoid it installing Chrome for you as well. It didn't even make it clear that Chrome was actually an alternative web browser which meant some people didn't realise what was going on. I personally know several people that were taken in by that. And don't forget the hordes of web developers who were taken in by the Acid tests and led them to believe that WebKit was the most standards compliant browser engine.
