Huawei will say goodbye to its high-end Kirin chipset after Mate 40 debut
aphanic and 8 others reacted to Hwforce for a topic
That kinda sad, put US China conflict aside, Huawei was one of the highest quality phones makers and really put great efforts into the quality and innovation of it's products, now it's all be gone, one major mobile processor producer will be ceased to exist and thats surely can't be good for the competition from client stand point.9 points -

Never understood these deals, while I get it's supposed to drive people to certain providers, it must massively limit the uptake of the actual device itself. Last device I bought that was locked to a provider was in the mid 2000's. Caught me out when I went overseas. But now with unlocked devices there's no issue, chuck in a sim and you're good to go. See a better mobile plan? Change providers! Too easy!6 points -

I mean, going off Microsoft's past mobile efforts, and seeing how the consumer interested has never really been there, I don't think he's wrong. His opinion must have stuck a nerve because you went after him with a tactic that's more dated than the design of the Surface Duo.3 points -

First, only buy cables like this at monoprice.com. This is where I have bought all my cables and they are all good and always a very good price. Specifications depend on what you're using it for, but for the most part, they all pretty much do the same. For example, this HDMI cable: https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=3992 is high speed and its 15ft length is only $8.79. Never go anywhere else. And in CA and AZ, you will get your products quickly.2 points -

Huawei will say goodbye to its high-end Kirin chipset after Mate 40 debut
PaulATMOS reacted to dead.cell for a topic
Exactly. U.S. lost me when they put pressure on the UK to remove Huawei from UK networks, it's now likely that costs will be passed to customers. Things are already expensive enough as it is. Except it's not just the US which is where you lose me, when Hong Kong holds protests of 800K+ against Chinese control. Taiwan has complained on numerous fronts, but just this week that China's government is stealing trade secrets from them as well. This is far beyond just Poland catching what they alleged to be a Chinese spy, who happened to be a "former" Huawei employee. You don't have to like America, most Americans don't either, but that has little to do with the complaints lodged with China, on numerous fronts right down to abusing human rights in very much Nazi Germany fashion. Arguing that you don't get your phone for as cheap as you might like because you're not importing goods from a known country abusing their people seems rather ridiculous. We know what china is doing, but to be honest how many other countries have not done the same thing over the years and maybe still doing it? The U.S. have spies, the U.K have spies, so what make us any different in that regard? You have no idea like any of us on here how much technology our countries have stolen from others. My problem with China is the way they treat their own citizens and the lack of democracy, but they are not the only country like it. We don't hate Americans or America , I do think the U.S. have tried to be the police of the world and pushed their agendas to other countries and sadly the U.K. have followed them like puppy dogs. i also think that we in the U.K. have become too Americanised and what identity we have got is starting to fade, the e.u took a lot of it. even my spelling checker is trying to spell Americanised with a Z and it is supposed to be British English. I have heard people saying ZEE instead of ZED. The U.S. is a big country and one of the reason why they are high in technology, but don't forget that country never belonged to you in the first place. As for cheap phones, he was not on about cheap phones, he was on about the network, so cheap broadband or cheaper broadband. It is not cheap in this country, a lot of people are paying about £25-£20 or more a month for home broadband, try it is unlimited, but still a bit expensive, certainly for people who don't have much money. Mobile is worse, i may only pay £7 for mine phone package, but I only get 2GB for that, plus talk time and unlimited text. the mobile provider I use offers an unlimited data service for £20 a month, but that is sim free and you still got to buy a phone and they are one of the cheaper ones. Nothing is different in essence between US and China but the gullible folks from both of these countries see them as infallible as the Pope( o_O ). In China You have state discrimination over minorities and political views, in US You have deeply rooted systemic racism and a farcical political system. The only thing that truly differs is that China is not playing World Police while US have been terrorizing the rest of the world under the umbrella of Human Rights for more than 50 years. This trade war with China is just one more in the line of endless moves to secure domination. This I must say though. US has moved to oppression beyond its capabilities. It is how empires act before the fall. I usually appreciate your posts, but there's too many flaws in here to count. I'm unsure how you can use the term "systemic racism" applying it to the US but not China. China is literally, and according to them, legally detaining people who subscribe to the wrong belief system. They are very much against outsiders too for that matter, which isn't unexpected as even Japan's been known for xenophobia. Also, China very much IS playing world police, as they use and abuse their relationships with other nations by applying pressure to get their way, along with applying direct pressure in territories like Hong Kong to further their influence and power in places where they are very much undesired. Honestly, I'm not forgiving anything the US has done in the past, but look at the president of the United States: what the hell do you expect us to do? Why do you think people are rioting here? Just like those in Hong Kong, we do not agree with the system. I don't know where people start believing the Donald J. Trump of all people is going to somehow fix the US... he's not. But if he, along with other nations as we see with India, decide to take their business elsewhere, then so be it. I'm not about to shed tears for the Chinese government.1 point -

Node names don't really mean anything. Intel's 10nm is in the same ballpark as TSMC's 7nm: https://en.wikichip.org/wiki/7_nm_lithography_process The problem is, their 10nm node, so far, has also been having problems and not reaching the performance/power level required for high-performing desktop parts. Their only hope at this point is that the upcoming 10nm++ actually works as it should. how is an Intel fan going to push that argument when Intel said they're going to start using other fabs like TSMC...1 point -

Blocked: I've had an update block before due to a hardware dongle driver, but this computer was more or less a fresh install within the last two months (though using an older installation USB that I made). Given my prior experience, I can understand how a third-party may be responsible for delaying an update (TBH I would have been more ****ed if the update had gone through and then I couldn't use said equipment) but I also think that at least when their own devices are involved MS could be giving their customers more information about why the update is being blocked on the device.1 point -

So I assume you're of the 0.1 % I don't know what the email's look like, but do you even have to open them, or does the subject line just let you know X person just uploaded a new video? The subject line is like this: "Reol Official just uploaded a video" Honesty I absolutely hate this, being notified about new uploads by E-mail was my main way of knowing if my favourites uploaded a video. I'm going to miss so many videos without this feature Edit: Also these e-mails contain something like this: "You were sent this email because you chose to receive updates from Reol Official. If you don't want these updates anymore, you can unsubscribe here. " so there's no reason not knowing how to turn off these E-mail notifications...1 point -

The Tulsa rally was one... Children of govt officials tearing him a new ass is another... But..all in all, it's seriously difficult to file any complaints against another country for a company doing business here, that have no legal strongholds to attack. Microsoft and Google are here, so if they were to create an app that did/does what TikTok did/does.. and the kids used it and slammed his rallies with fake numbers, his head would explode and you would have seen lawsuits flying out the windows of the White House instead of executive orders. Which by the way.. is the ONLY way he's done anything in the 3½ years he's been in D.C. He hasn't passed any laws worthy of mention, because the Senate hasn't done crap about anything. But ... I digress. Yes.. it's personal, and we all know it. He didn't go after that Russian company that created the FaceApp, (and it's EULA was explicit in how it would own anything you put into that app) because no one used it to make him older and uglier than he already is.
