  1. Or they could just wait a few months for an adult to be back in the White House... Trump's limp-on for TikTok is purely because teen users used TikTok to troll Trump's Retard-a-pa-Loser in Tulsa and he can't go after the kids.

  2. I doubt that’s the case. they probably realised that, despite them being fully in the right to remove it if epic no longer have the developer account for it, removing it doesn’t actually hurt Epic and only the consumers who signed up to it. It also makes people hesitant to sign up for using that service if it’s in the news for access being revoked on such a large basis. Whilst technically they should revoke it under their own terms it’s a bit of a PR own goal when they’ve been trying to get that service off the ground and have people sign up to it. When users see log in with Apple on a website/app They’ll think twice if there’s a risk that the option will be pulled and they’ll lose their account to whatever service at a moments notice.

  4. In before right wingers cry censorship. Fact checking isnt censorship. They aren't taking down your tweets or silencing you, they're putting facts underneath your tweet. Its no one's fault that you don't believe in facts or science. If you want to see actual censorship, look at right wing platforms like Parler who ban people just for being left wing or for presenting factual information. If you've been banned on twitter, its because you tried to do something that could result in violence or real life harm, and its just well known that this behavior is more prevalent on the right.

  6. TikTok is cancer anyways. Anyways, I don't get some comments. When China banned many American companies to work in China, they applauded. And now, they are rustled that the USA is doing it the same. 🤷‍♂️

  10. Has anyone ever noticed that the only people who talk about Trump Derangement Syndrome are the Faux News suckers projecting their own derangement in support of this textbook malignant narcissistic, infamous charlatan, and proven pathological liar? They are also the kind of people who confuse truthful criticism of this utterly incompetent and despicable ignoramus as somehow "defending" the object of his childish tantrums of the day, rather than actually being informed on the topic and understanding why President Pretend is specifically targeting this one company, amongst all others, just to assuage the perceived slight to his impossibly fragile ego. As for me, I like it when the ignorant, gullible, and cowardly self-identify for all of us to see. You realize you can be against TikTok and Chinese spying AND Trump, right? The derangement is when you think that because Trump is for/against something, that it must be bad/good. Even a broken clock is right twice a day, and Biden himself also promised in his speech to be tough on China, which actually appeals to me considering they're openly detaining muslims and sending them to detention camps to be used for slave labor. In fact, that's the reason I want Trump out of office so that people who don't know any better can quit complaining and start looking at the details, rather than just his name and being immediately against whatever he's doing.

  11. Here's how you can change your default browser in iOS 14 and iPadOS 14

But this is the entire ecosystem of Apple going back to the 80s. They think for you. It isn't 'Think Different'. What Video Card do I need for graphics design, Apple picked one, which display technology do I need for Film/Video color grading, Apple picked one, do I want touch screen, Nope - Apple picked for you. (You get the idea, right?) The sad irony is often Apple doesn't make the best choices for their consumers. Going back to the 90s or 00s or 10s or now - Apple has always picked or used mid level components and features - Sound - mid grade DAC, video mid performance/feature GPU, etc. The same is true of OS X and iOS, one reason it is popular, is that it is SIMPLISTIC, not powerful. Users don't have to think about what to use or what is the best workflow. This is great for followers and people that like authoritarianism. This is also ok for people that are light computer users, turn it on, 'it just works'. The myth here is that non-Apple products are 'harder' to use or they don't 'just work' - which they have for the last 25+ years now, and arguably even better than Apple for the last 10 years. Apple is a consumer appliance ecoysystem - not a technology/computer company. Appliance as in like a toaster - you use the knobs it comes with and it will never do more than make toast.

  12. Rotting on the vine? I use Siri literally dozens of times a day, and it does exactly what I want. What's wrong with it? Genuinely intrigued as to why you say this... Home automation. You typically can only buy products that have either Google assistant/Alexa support. Or home kit support. The ones that support all three are typically expensive or niche. I.e an ecobee works with all three, but when you have nest smoke alarms an cams, why would you get an ecobee and not a nest thermostat, especially when ecobee doesn’t have nearly the same product portfolio Same with my wifi switches. They support Alexa and Google assistant but not HomeKit. Google assistant and Alexa have far better routine support. I actually tried the home kit version, it was terrible. Didn’t work half the time. Tried another brand. Same result. And that was only a year ago. another example: my chamberlain garage door. Works with Google and IFFFTT/Alexa out of the box, if I want siri/HomeKit support, I have to buy a 100 add on because the HomeKit certification/licensing is expensive. Also: 5 $29 buck Google home minis. Or 5 $200 plus Apple homepods.

  13. Whoa hold up now. I thought Flight Sim 2020 was for Windows 10 only, because of DX12... or something. Now you're telling me it's a DX11 game, but is simply "banned" from running on Win 7 because MS hates people who didn't take them up on their free downgrade to Win 10? As a software developer, let me tell you that it is a headache and costs a lot to support multiple versions of operating systems, not to mention being held back on using new features because of a few holdouts. It's always a tough decision to make, but it's usually not worth it to cater to a dwindling 5% of your customer base to increase your costs in terms of lines of code and test coverage. Windows 7 is obsolete and it's beyond time to move on.

  15. Microsoft reports increased cyberattacks targeting U.S. elections

Oh FFS False equivalency is such an outdated and simplistic modality. "I Can't see the different between A and B, therefore, there is no difference." - Well, when I read this, I think, these people are really ######ing stupid. So when you see someone that lies about your pants making you look fat and a another person that lies about sleeping with your spouse, they are all the same? Even if there is centralized control of of parties and governments, then how about people that have been rejected by the Media and the 'establishment' - it has NEVER liked Hillary for example. Which means to fight the establishment, you campaigned and voted for Hillary, or are these convictions only convenient when they align with your personal beliefs and biases?" As for Biden and Trump being fully integrated, one is 'meh' and the other is putting children in cages as a 'deterrent' - only is a Liberal in the classic sense of the term, and the other has allowed people to think COVID was a democratic Hoax and not let their own 'base' expose and kill themselves. Herman Cain anyone? 180,000 people anyone? It is fun/cool to be cynical and think everything sucks, but you still need to grab on to WHAT IS DIFFERENT and choose it, and rock the fundamentals of society to lean toward the thing that is 'slightly better'. This is not hard, this is simply picking a candy bar that fell on the floor over a piece of dog ###### on the floor.

  20. Disagree. I just got one and I love it. Had an Android wear watch since the Moto 360. It's great when you get a text message or email. You can just look at the watch and see what it was. lol. you have a phone... more convenient and you wont strain your eyes struggling to read an email. Ya, It's not so much reading the email as it is knowing what email just came in. If the phone is in your pocket and you get a text message just can just look at your watch and read it. If you want to reply, in the case of the apple watch you just press the microphone button and talk and it instantly converts what you said to text and you press send.

  21. The "access to Linux files in WSL or WSL 2" is a default feature in the Windows Subsystem for Linux - and is, in fact, why I USE WSL 2 for Android ROM building; I don't need a VM for it any more. I have Ubuntu 20.04 (with updates) in a WSL 2 window - and have three ROM distributions - DU, Lineage, and Bliss ROMs - installed in it, and I can still run any Windows application or game I choose to, since I don't have to reboot.

  22. This project has been in development for nearly 5 years before release. Was DX12 even a thing then? Asobo has stated that a DX 12 version will be forthcoming, I'm glad they released it now, warts and all. They'll polish it as they go along, as it was also stated that FS would have a 10 year life.

  24. Wow, delusional much? I guess it has nothing to do with the spying... It's sad how many people will defend crooked companies due to their derangement of Trump... well yeah it's a lot to do with spying, but he really ramped up his rhetoric about it after that bad experience at the rally where supposedly teens using some k-pop thing reserved a ton of tickets.. It wasn't in the news that much until that apparently happened and people tied tictok to it for him... I guess that could be the tin-foil hat theory, but the actual discussed rational behind it has always been the spying and ties to the Chinese govt. It should be alarming to people. I think it's rather alarming that people would rather side with a communist govt instead of giving Trump any credit for trying to protect people. That's TDS for you. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  25. The derangement is certainly strong in you. It's hilarious and ironic that you call Trump a tyrant, but you'll defend a crooked Chinese company... You very badly need to turn off the news and go read a text book...

Ok, but do you think Apple was this technically ignorant to not already know this ahead of time? I don't think that is likely, and I think a lot of people at Apple buy their own BS and are often ignorant of the world outside Apple.

  43. If only we could change the default assistant. One day. Siri is just rotting on the vine. As home automation ramps up, their customers will be screaming for it in a few more years. I was able to setup a double tap gesture on the back of my iPhone (introduced with iOS 14), with a shortcut that opens up Google Assistant with no delay, this works for now, but it'd be great if I had "hey google" functionality without having to open the app.

With the word "up to" I didn't get your joke. Forgive me plz Samsung Said "up to 3 years of support" meaning they could only give you 2 years if they decided too. Yeah ... you are correct ... Unless people start slapping these companies using their wallets, they will keep robbing the customers and keep walking away untested. No one has right to charge Apple level prices if they can't give Apple level support. Period!
