  9. IIRC, Samsung built some code right into One UI for implementing some of these features. I guess it just needs more OEMs to work with MS to bring these features.

Bitwarden is better than all of them Bitwarden is soooo much better than the alternatives, and cheaper! Open source and actually trustworthy as well. I also like that it generates passphrases with special characters/numbers/etc in them which makes using them where copy and paste is not an option easier...such as when I had to connect my Nintendo Switch to the wifi..

  12. Apple to release iOS 14, iPadOS 14, and watchOS 7 tomorrow

People keep saying this nonsense yet entire Android 10 gesture navigation is copied straight from iOS 11. Along with bunch of stuff that people just dismiss as "not innovated by Apple" yet it was done by Apple. FaceID too for example. Was it first? Nope. But it was the first face unlock that was fast, reliable and actually secure. There is bunch of such stuff. Hell, entire iPhone device is that. It wasn't the first touch phone, Ericsson had that way before. But the way touch worked on iPhone was on a whole different level. Innovation is not just adding quirky never before seen features, innovation is also making them actually work well and be useful to the user. And Apple is extremely good at doing that.

  14. Apple announces new iPads bringing Pro features to lower-cost tablets

I mean, feel free to go spend $329 on any Android tablet of your choice and see how it compares to an iPad. Yes, because buying either of these two lousy worthless products proves...what exactly? Give it a rest... We get it; you don't like Apple products. The millions of people that buy them every year prove that they're useful and profitable products. Go find somebody else that cares about your mindless complaining...

  16. Physical edition is the best value. You can resell games after you have finished them on Craigslist or eBay. You can't do that with the digital edition. I bought TLOU2 on release day, and sold it 2 weeks later for pretty much the same amount I paid for it sans taxes. Also physical games will have more sales and discounts from big box retail stores compared to the digital ones.

  21. Apple announces new iPads bringing Pro features to lower-cost tablets

Now I'm not really an Apple fan, but that $329 price point is pretty good. I remember my first Android tablet cost me £500 (around $650 at the time) so $329 (£255) is a pretty good deal.

  23. External drive error

I recommend HDD for storage and SSD for boot drive. Due to the cost per gig and the write limit over time of an SSD, plus HDD's tend (but not always) to die more gracefully than an SSD.

  24. -"provision of free and cheap transportation in regions where affordable and reliable transportation is an issue." It's funny because, excluding the countryside, low-income places have lots of affordable transport in comparison with wealthy neighborhoods/suburbia where they usually lack any public transport.

  25. Give it a rest... Give it a rest. I get it. You can't handle legitimate criticism of the post-Jobs Wall Street accountants version of Apple. Even when you fail to notice that I criticized the equivalent Chrome based worthless garbage product also. And, of course, you actually didn't contribute any counter-argument to what I was saying or to the person I was responding to. Maybe you'd be happier in an Apple only forum instead? This guy again lol.

Windows Hello works fine. And worked fine before FaceID. FaceID might be better (might be), but this does not change the fact that before it Windows Hello worked, like I said. To improve something is not innovation, is improving. Except you could (not sure if you still can) trick Windows Hello with a simple picture of the person. Same issue that many Android phones still have. Innovation is absolutely about improving existing things. That's part of the definition. It's not just about a new product, but also about new methods.

  37. NVIDIA'S RTX 30xx Series (rumors, teases, etc)

Pretty much all of the major site reviews have dropped with respect to the 3080 Founders Edition. ....etc Basically, a beast... faster than the 2080Ti ... Linus was disappointed mostly with Nvidia's claim (I guess) of it being twice as fast as the 2080Ti (which it isn't for games).

I'm still rocking my first gen iPad Air (I think from 2013?). It still works well, and battery life is still great. Only thing missing is OS support, which I can't complain given Apple's track record of updating compared to Android. I'm trying to convince my wife this is the one to upgrade to, but will most likely wait till it's on sale (want to see $449 or $499)

  41. While a Windows PC unquestionably does far far more, this is a good device for: - Those who primarily aren't near an AC source and want bigger screen computing for several HOURS or while traveling - Graphics artists (The iPad Pro actually) - Freedom from Windows 10 updates (I am sure iPad's updates don't take quite as long, aren't as big and aren't as disruptive or breaking things in apps)

MacOS concept - Vista concept - Android concept - Back home to the Apple. What goes around... However, the stackable widgets look and work really nice. And I like how it moves to the Windows Phone, that was probably the best interface.

  45. Apple introduces the Apple Watch SE starting at $279

I already have Apple Watch 5 and I love it. Not gonna upgrade, but if you're a new buyer, 6th version is nice upgrade. But in my eyes, Apple Watch SE is the best value. It's basically upgraded Apple Watch 5 for lowest price. And you still get always-on display which I'd miss on Apple Watch 3. Always-on display is just a must, coz you look like a dork with a blank watch. Not to mention info is then always there. I don't even use wrist sensing on my AW5 that wakes the display. I just keep it in always-on mode without waking on wrist turn and it's working great. What annoys me more are per country certifications for health related features. It's been what, a year since Apple Watch 5 launch and ECG and I still can't use the thing in my country. And I'd appreciate if watch could keep an eye on my heart, just to be sure.

  47. Doubt they had any titanium in at all. Titanium is much harder and therefore much harder to machine, plus it's about 4 times the cost of aluminum on a weight basis (and is a heavier molecule so more weight for less surface area), https://www.metalary.com/titanium-price/

  48. You know what's making the ice caps melt more? Your god damn air conditioning. Everyone's air conditioning in america. You could have picked a cooler place to live but no instead you pick a bit of land that's too hot for the entire year and waste a lot of energy on trying to cool it back down. So where do you suggest everyone live? There aren't many places on Earth that don't get really hot in the summer. Also what about heating, doesn't that use a lot of energy too? It really doesn't sound like we can live anywhere. Maybe we should all move to Mars.
