  4. Well said. Though you missed another key deceptive practice: Sony's consistent, intentional obfuscation over which third party titles are actual PlayStation exclusives or whether they are merely timed or are also coming to PC. Sony is the market leader. They should have nothing to fear from being honest. The sad part is that most of these practices seem intentionally designed to feed negative perceptions about Sony's competitors rather than to build positive momentum for its own brand.

  17. Yes, but these are not changes, and going after their competitor and fanning flames in the gaming community while they were doing the same thing IS DECEPTIVE. Just as they have done in previous generations, with making an issue about Xbox a public backlash, while planning and doing the same thing with PS. This is even more egregious with regard to PS4/PS5 launches, as the PS gaming framework is SIGNIFICANTLY MORE HINDERED in cross generational target than the Xbox technologies which are built around making games that run and look the best on several generations of hardware - which can be witnesses in the PC space, with Windows Games using DirectX running on an integrated Intel GPU or running at 4K with DLSS 2.0 and Ray Tracing on the fastest and most capable GPUs available - without a quality sacrifice on the newer/faster GPU technologies. Sony is continuing to be hypocritical, and pointing out flaws with Xbox and PC things they are doing and doing poorly in comparison. Sony pushed forward pre-rendered gameplay with the PS3 - while accusing Microsoft of doing this with the XB360, they also said MS's CPU/GPU in the XB360 was weak/laughable - all while knowing it was technically able to provide more visual quality with higher framerates and resolution than the PS3. Springing from the Cell hype, they were successful in this marketing. This happened again with the PS4 - again with pre-rendered gameplay that was not possible on the PS4, and again talking about their performance advantage, which was tiny at best, and in things like thermal consistency and FPS consistency, something the PS4 did more poorly with than the Xbox One. They also went after Xbox for being a 'media' device and not a 'true' gaming console, and this was so successful with the fans/community - they literally pulled 'media' Apps and features and cancelled them, even though they were fully in development. So they didn't look like they were a 'media' device. This includes things for their motion controllers and camera. These are the problems I have had with Sony as well, and this generation I have been hoping, and still do, that Sony stops this ###### and just makes a good product with good games. We don't need manipulation or hypocrisy - that is old marketing crap that needs to go away.

  19. want to build up a new pc - but i have a old case - can i use this ?

Don't know, CAN YOU? Like others have said, the mobo probably won't fit the mounting holes but have you done ANYTHING to see if it'll fit? Dry fit the mobo? And do you know how to operate a screwdriver and drill? For all we know you might be wanting to mount some 120mm fans in the side and custom mount everything. In which case ya, it'll be fine. But you posted some generic pictures and somehow expect us to guess as to what mobo power supply and everything else you want to put in along with whatever you're going to do to mount it.

  20. Poll: Which next-generation console are you interested in buying?

That is where a games console beats most P.Cs in that you can put it in the living room and it doesn't look out of place, well not until the PS5, because that looks strange. I know you can get smaller cases for computers and build them to look like a TV box, but they are a bit of a pain to build and keep cool. Agreed. I've been studying ITX cases for a while. Yeah they are pain to build as I have no experience in ITX boards myself and getting the right parts is also going to be a problem. Even the boards themselves are not cheap. Luckily I had spare fans, rams, and GFX card laying around from old build.

Not that it's a particularly relevant emoji but it's factual. There's also lots of other abnormalities. Have an emoji for each one then.

  23. Are these things needed at all? I use three, the smily, sad face and the thumbs up and that is it and I only use thumbs up in SMS or maybe Facebook Messenger. I could not be bothered to look around for a picture to point out something I want to say, are we back in Ancient Egypt? By all accounts there is a key combination on Windows 10 to bring up emojis, I see about it a few times, but then I forget about it as I have no interest in them At work around 4 years back, we had a change of contract and other things happened, but to get the message across we had leaflets in the canteen, the company thought they would cool or hip or what ever you call it these days and stuffed a load of Emojis on it to get the message across of what is happening. I had to ask someone to translate most of it for me.

Agreed, PS5 and PC (as most Xbox exclusives come out for Windows 10). This is neoWIN though, so I'm not surprised that the poll is Microsoft favored.

  29. Cyberpunk 2077 PC system requirements aren't that demanding

Yeah, my monitor is 1080p at 24" (ASUS VW246H). but I would not consider 3 inches a huge upgrade as I think the biggest part of that upgrade would be having more desktop space from higher res than purely from the 3 inch size improvement. the last time I seen a huge upgrade was when I went from a old CRT 19" type of monitor to my current 24" 1080p monitor as that was a rather huge upgrade (I think I paid something like $229 or so back in Feb 2010) as the size definitely helped but clarity and resolution really was a solid boost as it was just much easier on ones eyes etc. that kind of boost won't happen with my current setup to something newer as while I am sure the resolution bump will help some, since there will be more desktop space, the 3 inches won't help all that much with seeing it and clarity etc will be pretty much the same as I got now. i felt like a massive upgrade to me in the quality of games too, but then again, i got a very nice gaming monitor at 144hz too. going from 1080p 60hz to 2k 144hz gaming was a huge improvement and 27 felt right, rather then 32 for some reason (i tried both) Maybe I am underestimating a screens refresh rate but personally if I am anywhere near 60fps (on your standard non-fancy 1080p 60Hz monitor) I am more than happy since it's (60fps+) pretty much a perfect experience, especially for single player games and us non-pro level gamers since the common-ish persons skill level is probably not high enough for there to be any real obvious differences like there is for the common person going from 30fps to 60fps. even 40 something fps for a average is pretty good, especially for general single player games. but reading some random article online (i.e. https://www.gpumag.com/60hz-144hz-240hz-360hz/" rel="external nofollow">https://www.gpumag.com/60hz-144hz-240hz-360hz/ ) seems to be about what I thought... mainly for pro-ish level gamers. so it sounds more like overkill for us average-ish gamers(?). but if I roughly understand that correctly... would I be correct in saying that in order to get full benefit (like assuming things from a pro level gamer perspective) from a 144hz monitor, I would need at least 144fps+? but I see another article that says... "So, if you have 300 frames per second in a game but use a 60Hz monitor, what’s displayed to you will essentially have 5 times less frame ‘updates’ than could potentially be possible For this reason, moving to a new monitor with better refresh rate isn’t really worth it unless your graphics card can reliably run at 60 frames or higher." I doubt my frame rates would be consistently high enough with my setup to bother with a higher refresh rate monitor (maybe on some games from a while ago but more recent stuff, probably not so much). besides I tend to stick with the conventional wisdom when it comes to basic frame rates... 30fps-ish is playable, 60fps+ is perfect (this is noticeable to the common person to with ones eyes and feel of tracking stuff on screen on a shooter game etc). I can't imagine there would be a difference between say a 60hz monitor and a 144hz monitor (assuming one had the proper hardware for maximum benefit) like there is in more simple terms of 30fps to 60fps, especially for the average gamer. because I imagine for those small differences to matter, one has to be some elite competitive gamer, where a small edge can be the difference between winning and losing. but assuming your a average level gamer or so, in your opinion, is there really much of a difference in fluidity of movement and feel with mouse etc in games with 144hz vs 60hz? (assuming I was correct with needing the 144fps+ for full benefit of those 144hz monitors). ; because after a certain point, things are smooth enough. thanks for your time. p.s. I forgot to mention... I believe you when you mentioned that 1080p will look a little off on your 1440 monitor. because I noticed in terms of games that even on my monitor with 720p vs 1080p there is a decent gap between the two visually. but when it comes to movies, there is very little difference (like you can see it but it's a minimal difference to where if your just watching a movie it's unlikely one will be able to tell if it's 720p or 1080p without switching back and fourth between a 720p and 1080p file at which point you can see a slight difference). EDIT: one last thing I noticed on another website... "Refresh rates are really only important for serious gamers. Casual gamers and general PC users will usually be better off spending their money on a bigger, higher resolution monitor instead." ; I am definitely apart of the more casual gamer crowd as I am also a fan of bang-for-the-buck when it comes to general computer hardware. I don't have an answer. I am a casual single player gamer. I went from a good IPS (dell) to a gaming monitor (also IPS) that I described and my enjoyment of gaming went right up. Bigger size, higher resolution are obvious choices. Did the refresh rate make a difference? Well I do notice a difference on 120hz smartphone vs a regular 60hz ... I did not think I would ... I also thought it was useful for very high FPS only ... But it is just smoother experience overall. Might not be is obvious at first but the experience in casual gaming and day to day usage for me was noticeably better. I would not go for non-IPS gaming monitor and I would always pick color accuracy over the higher refresh rate - if that helps!

  35. Unless you are using a Samsung phone, gboard is the default Android keyboard. Huawei uses swiftkey, or did until trump decided that he had to ban them so American companies could compete, because trump is a Chinese hater. Myself I went back to gboard as I hate swiftkey, I have no idea why Google feels the need to change anything to do with Gboard, it works fine. As for Samsung keyboard, i used a Samsung phone yesterday, I hate it and the keyboard is a pile of poop.

Does Intel or AMD even have a chip/soc that would be able to go in the Pro X's form factor? Or are you just referring to the aesthetics vs it being thinner and fan-less? I am ok with it keeping the same dimensions and the fan because of intel chips heat. But the bezels need to be smaller, maybe not as thin, but I'd be happy with a reduction.

  41. The one feature they SHOULD have added in the all the way back in the release 1607 or whatever the first update was, which allows you to have more than one windows 10 settings box open at a time. It's the one single thing that pisses me off about Windows 10. I'm in the Windows update window and want to go to all apps, and it uses the same window. GAH! It's just as dumb as the 7th version of Watch OS STILL not being able to sync to messages on the iPhone so when you delete an SMS message on the iPhone it deletes from the watch.

I'm wondering when they're going to do a new Studio. It'd be the right time to come out with a Ryzen model with 16 cores or even a model with more, and new RTX nVidia GPU to push ahead in performance. A entry level laptop is a nice idea but 4GB RAM, eh? We really need to drop that as a entry level configuration already. 8GB should be the starting minimum by now.

  45. Power over Ethernet question

Cable is always going to be better And allows for POE for sure. Be it you use injector, or get a poe switch. Unless you plan on doing more than a couple camera's the added cost of poe switch for 1 or 2 cameras is prob not cost effective. If you plan on setting up quite a few camera's or other poe devices then yeah a poe switch would help with less wiring. Can give you some control over removing power from specific camera's via just switch command to remove power from them - if you need to reboot them or something. Looking at that camera (whats in box section) doesn't seem to list that it comes with an injector? And I don't see one to purchase on the accessory list? They do seem to sell power adapters for them.. It lists in specs that it uses 802.3af for POE, so make sure if you get a switch or injector to use that is what is puts out or supports. There are currently 3 main specs for poe 802.3af, at and the newer bt standard.
