  1. So now we know that Bethesda is worth: - 0.88 skypes, or - 1 github, or - 3 whole minecrafts. Cool

News? Best news all year, isn't it, and isn't that thing just beautiful? /s I cried like for 9 minutes when I read this amazing news.

  7. Xbox Game Pass now has 15 million subscribers

I can see it hitting 20 million by the end of the year once the new consoles start to go out. Anyone who buys one via the All Access service is automatically a Game Pass user, so all of those will count to. It's really worth it, and is even more worth it after todays news. I expect it'll start to grow at a faster rate into 2021. We should also remember that there are some who are also just Game Pass for PC subs, those count I'm sure, so it's not even a indication of console sales/owners either.

  9. Wolfenstein might lose the ingame nazi graphic elements, elder scrolls will be console friendly, Fallout will turn Halo-like. This is what I beleive will happen. It is bad. You obviously have no idea what you're talking about...

  10. Seems like Microsoft is planning to give a tough fight to Sony this time around. Wondering if there is any Game that Microsoft may declare XBox/PC exclusive moving forwards ... But I think PS fanboys will still be fine with whatever Sony has to offer. They really are living example of Stockholm Syndrome. :) jk

  15. Taking photos of fireworks

When taking fireworks pictures, you'll want a stable tripod and a cable release/remote shutter control to actuate the shutter. I would recommend getting to the shooting location well before the show starts. This will allow you to get your focus set to infinity on your lens. I use a zoom lens in order to be flexible with how far I am from the launch site, but you could make it work with a prime lens and zoom with your feet. Set the camera to bulb mode as you will be manually controlling the exposure length. I normally use ISO 400 but you can play around with it and adjust it to your noise preference. You are also going to want to shoot in RAW as the pictures straight out of the camera look nothing like the processed images. After a firework has launched but just before the break happens, press and hold the shutter button on the remote. You can hold the shutter for a few seconds after the break to get falling trails. This will give you a nice clean image of the firework. To get a trail from the launcher in the image, when a firework is launched, press the shutter button on the remote and hold it down. Keep holding it down until after the break happens. There is also a technique of getting multiple breaks in one exposure by covering the lens with something dark like a piece of construction paper between launches. I've done this before using my hand and it has come out ok. Just make sure that you don't touch the lens. After you've taken the pictures, import them into Lightroom or another RAW editor and start playing around with the sliders until you like how the image looks.

  16. Well, honestly, was that anyone at Bethesda or was that just the Mass Effect team itself? Not sure. But MS owned so just hope the games stay the same quality. microsoft didn't own mass effect. mass effect is EA, out of bioware, a canadian studio. MS has never touched that brand.

  17. But bugs are all part of the Bethesda experience
    3 points
  18. Hmm. I wonder what this will mean for Fallout and Elder Scrolls on the PlayStation? At the same time, maybe Microsoft can help Bethesda with their testing, meaning no more buggy games!

  19. They'll probably yank that deal. Remember Halo was actually supposed to be a Mac exclusive right before Microsoft bought Bungie. Steve Jobs even demonstrated it.

  22. Well said. Though you missed another key deceptive practice: Sony's consistent, intentional obfuscation over which third party titles are actual PlayStation exclusives or whether they are merely timed or are also coming to PC. Sony is the market leader. They should have nothing to fear from being honest. The sad part is that most of these practices seem intentionally designed to feed negative perceptions about Sony's competitors rather than to build positive momentum for its own brand.

  29. Well, honestly, was that anyone at Bethesda or was that just the Mass Effect team itself? Not sure. But MS owned so just hope the games stay the same quality. Everyone wants to bring up Rare when MS buys a new studio but honestly that was then and the new team is pretty clear that they're hands off and letting studios do what they want to do. I don't have much worries, the games should be just as good.

  31. Yes, why would Microsoft scoff at earning off Playstation consumers? It's Sony that is shortsighted on this sort of thing. Just like Sony is scoffing at earning off of the Xbox and PC platform, which combined make the PlayStation platform seem rather small. Remember, Game Pass and Xbox is now also on PC's, which is by far the biggest gaming platform in the world. Yet Sony doesn't want to make money on it, until many many years after with a couple of titles, which is just too late anyway. Unlike Sony, Microsoft CAN actually afford to scoff at earning some money on the PlayStation platform. OR Microsoft can just put the games for "free" for Game Pass subscribers and charge PlayStation owners the full $70 purchase price per game. Suddenly a $25/monthly Xbox Series S or $35/monthly Xbox Series X with Game Pass seems like a fantastic deal versus playing $70 for one game only.

  38. A new logo for Gmail is reportedly in the works

When I switched to Android and opened up the Gmail app I was quite perplexed by this. No select all is ridiculous. They cannot give that feature because if it exists, you can delete emails fast, and there's nothing for them to scan!

  40. Should I get more RAM?

If your slots aren't full, there's never any harm in throwing in another bunch of RAM. I usually go with a minimum of 32GB these days. My work dev laptop has 64GB in

  44. Yes, but these are not changes, and going after their competitor and fanning flames in the gaming community while they were doing the same thing IS DECEPTIVE. Just as they have done in previous generations, with making an issue about Xbox a public backlash, while planning and doing the same thing with PS. This is even more egregious with regard to PS4/PS5 launches, as the PS gaming framework is SIGNIFICANTLY MORE HINDERED in cross generational target than the Xbox technologies which are built around making games that run and look the best on several generations of hardware - which can be witnesses in the PC space, with Windows Games using DirectX running on an integrated Intel GPU or running at 4K with DLSS 2.0 and Ray Tracing on the fastest and most capable GPUs available - without a quality sacrifice on the newer/faster GPU technologies. Sony is continuing to be hypocritical, and pointing out flaws with Xbox and PC things they are doing and doing poorly in comparison. Sony pushed forward pre-rendered gameplay with the PS3 - while accusing Microsoft of doing this with the XB360, they also said MS's CPU/GPU in the XB360 was weak/laughable - all while knowing it was technically able to provide more visual quality with higher framerates and resolution than the PS3. Springing from the Cell hype, they were successful in this marketing. This happened again with the PS4 - again with pre-rendered gameplay that was not possible on the PS4, and again talking about their performance advantage, which was tiny at best, and in things like thermal consistency and FPS consistency, something the PS4 did more poorly with than the Xbox One. They also went after Xbox for being a 'media' device and not a 'true' gaming console, and this was so successful with the fans/community - they literally pulled 'media' Apps and features and cancelled them, even though they were fully in development. So they didn't look like they were a 'media' device. This includes things for their motion controllers and camera. These are the problems I have had with Sony as well, and this generation I have been hoping, and still do, that Sony stops this ###### and just makes a good product with good games. We don't need manipulation or hypocrisy - that is old marketing crap that needs to go away.
