China: U.S. ban on TikTok, WeChat is in violation of WTO rules
ID10T and 7 others reacted to d5aqoëp for a topic
As if anyone takes China seriously these days. China seems to have got the rude shock when India and US banned TikTok and they can see businesses collapse if similar bans continue. We seriously need to move out all manufacturing from China to other countries.8 points -
China: U.S. ban on TikTok, WeChat is in violation of WTO rules
dead.cell and 4 others reacted to George P for a topic
Other countries have filed complaints to the WTO over the years about China and it's "lack" of trying to stop piracy, or over trademarks and a list of other stuff probably a mile long. I find the above poetic justice in a way, a taste of their own medicine to a degree. They'll probably moan about the ban for a bit but it will ultimately lead no where. At some point the ban itself will probably get dropped and TikTok will keep doing what's doing, but now running on some Oracle servers.5 points -

Complaining about banning nå app is a bit rich coming from the home of the great firewall where pretty every Western service or website is banned... Dear China, fair trade is both ways. Also, all those rules you have about foreign companies having to "partner' with a local company and surrender their IP, that ain't exactly fair trade either.2 points -

Bing officially rebranded to Microsoft Bing, Give with Bing expands to more markets
tsupersonic and one other reacted to scumdogmillionaire for a topic
It doesn't take long to rack them up at all. I usually just go to bing.com and click Images, then start clicking through top image searches or whatever on desktop, then pretty much the same in the mobile app. It doesn't take long. Then you do the daily sets and that racks up more throughout the week. Its a small time investment for free money 🤷♂️ EDIT: I just went to order history, since January 1 2020 I've earned $110 Amazon gift certificates. My wife would also be in a similar boat. Would have been probably $115-120, but sometimes I cash in on the games to see if I can win anything. SO $220+ dollars for using Bing Microsoft Bing? Yeah, I'll take it.2 points -

Microsoft to invest in Greek cloud services infrastructure
olavinto reacted to George P for a topic
I don't see how Huawei has jack to do with the above. If Huawei wants to build some factory in the EU they'd be more than happy to let them do so. MS looking to build one or two datacenters in Greece, for Azure, has nothing to do with the government other than signing the paperwork and giving a big thanks. we don't need american datacenters, they don't respect our privacy we have OVH already Any data stored in the EU is subject to GDPR, so I really don't see what you're going on about here. Besides, OVH runs on wonderful American SuperMicro hardware. Go figure.1 point -

Because it is easier to manage by Google and app store users. Google aside it isn't something that end users will have much of a problem with. Specially if you can get lower prices on things through a 3rd party backend. At the most you will have to enter your info over, minor inconvenience to most.1 point -

Poco X3 review: Big, bulky, and impressive
Geezy reacted to dustojnikhummer for a topic
I can deal with ads in software, as that can be easily dealt with. Better than them shipping this thing with an underpowered SoC or a worse display. Honestly, the 120Hz IPS display and NFC are the main reasons why I'm downgrading from Poco F1 to this Doesn't this phone bench higher than the F1? On CPU just a tiny bit yes, but with the GPU 845 is still like what, 50% faster?1 point -

HP OMEN 15 review: AMD Ryzen 4000 offers fantastic gaming performance
dontbeevil reacted to Mobius Enigma for a topic
As I mentioned above, there are form factor and body design reasons and price points for the design coming from OEMs. The AMD CPU easily sits in device designs that the Intel counterpart could not. This is still OEMs being stupid, but at least they have some logic to their stupidity. Going from the 3000 series CPUs from last year, these products kind of 'make sense'. Also, as you imply, there is a lot of Intel money and prior lock-in deals with OEMs with Intel. Few saw the AMD mobile chips besting Intel in every way. The fun/crazy part is that by the time the deals and money drops from Intel expire, AMD will probably be readying the 5000 mobile CPUs, which could relegate Intel to the low performance/budget builds. I too would like a massive AMD performance build with the fastest gaming or workstation GPU, even if they are NVidia at this time. I can build out an $8K notebook, with everything, and still have the CPU fall behind the mid and high tier AMD mobile CPUs. I can't imagine all OEMs will keep on this road forward, and they may be looking to CPU/GPU deals with AMD's upcoming GPU launch, even if the mobile 4000 stays around another six months. (Guessing here.)1 point -

US 2020 Election Polling - Make sure you vote no matter who!
+hedleigh reacted to DeusProto for a topic
Already voted in KY last week. Absentee ballot. Turned it in to the county clerk office directly. Made sure the signature on my driver's license matched perfectly with what I signed on the ballot inner sleeve and outer sleeve (I don't have a consistent signature because cursive sucks and I hate that society still uses signatures). The KY gov website confirmed receipt of my ballot. Straight Democratic ticket, No on Marsy's law because it erodes due process for the accused (and the ACLU is opposed to it which is enough for me), and no in a constitutional amendment that would basically make redistricting judges tenure line up with elections -- which would make it easier for Republicans to gerrymander so that was an obvious 'no' after I spent an hour researching it (the ballot itself doesn't properly explain what it is). I'll be voting by absentee in all elections from now on. I like having the luxury of being able to take a few days to fill out my ballot because the constitutional amendment on the ballot pertaining to tenure for redistricting judges was very hard to understand and I had to do some research to figure out the right choice for that one. It wasn't an easy one like "ISSUE 1: Cannabis legalization YES / NO" (just an example, KY unfortunately does not have cannabis legalization on the ballot this year) and I likely would've left it blank if I voted in person because I feel rushed and just want to get out of there. A lot of local items on the ballot didn't even have people running. County Surveyor just had a write-in option. So I searched to see if the Democratic party Facebook page for my county endorsed any write-in candidate for that position. I couldn't find anything or any write-in campaign so I just left that blank. I even sent the Democratic party chair for my county an e-mail asking to see if they had anyone in mind and they replied saying they did not.1 point -
