  1. Comparing islamaphobia to holocaust denial isn't really fair. As far as I'm concerned, ALL religions should maintain the right to be criticised...religious freedom and all that. Every single one of them is man made. I'm not a fan of Zuck but I hope he tells them to bugger off.

  2. ...beheading someone in the middle of the street over a cartoon (shown in a history lesson no less) does quite a good job at making the radical ones stand out, you know, like happened last week. If you are willing to cause harm to someone over a cartoon, you're a radical. Actions like that should be strongly condemned whereas this letter reads like it almost tries to justify it? I think it's important that not all criticism of Islam is immediately shut down as "islamophobia", if there's people killing in the name of religion in 2020, even if it's only a tiny tiny minority of that religions followers, it should be discussed, same with any other religion. At the same time, there should be no place for hating people purely based on their religion, so I wouldn't be bothered if Facebook decided to remove anything being directly Islamophobic (i.e. generalising all Muslims as "xyz hateful thing").

  3. Correction: extremists of all types should be banned. Your comment sounds highly uneducated. Please refer to an actual Islamic scholar or do proper research. Also, there are 1.8 billion Muslims in the world, many of them suffering similar injustice as the Jews did during the Holocaust. (Uyghurs). It doesn't take a religion to feel horrified at all such acts, only humanity. Throughout the course of time, extremists have always existed and polluted the narrative. Do not stereotype and assume the same way Hitler and his followers did.

  4. One of them is not like the other. This applies for all religions but if you believe mocking someone's deities and blaspheming things they hold sacred is the same as criticizing and debating theological beliefs, you are one of them.

  5. This is one of those things as a leftist that annoys me about my side of the political spectrum. Criticizing a crappy religion is not racism or immoral. It just so happens that Islam is the worst one, but Christianity ain’t far behind. Also if Pakistan is all concerned about violence and stuff, maybe they should focus on their own problems with treatment of women and LGBT people.

  6. Precisely. One of these things, the Holocaust, is a series of HISTORICAL EVENTS that racists, neonazis, bigots and complete morons of all stripes have tried to downplay because they don't want to be associated with all of that true evil. Ahem. The other is a quite understandable fear of religious fanatics who kill (over friggin' CARTOONS!) in service to ignorant superstitious nonsense. If Muslims don't want the world to be afraid of their religion, they should stop their fanatical members from killing people who point out how ridiculous and untrue all religions are. If Facebook just stuck to moderating based on the facts, which determine the truth as supported by evidence, there'd be no inconsistency in their positions.

  8. A critical discussion on religion with a religious person is mostly a pointless exercise.... And it is about time to really remove religion out of all parts of life, and behind the doors where it belongs. It's OK to be religious, but accept criticism and don't wave it in my face and call me phobic, racist, ignorant or a heretic. This removal accounts for ALL religions. There's still too much religious interference in daily life and politics, despite the so-called separation of state and religion. Good examples are laws on abortions, the 'right' of mass church gatherings during a pandemic, woman not having the same rights as men etc. The world would do better with less religion imho.

Erdogan, that pothead that has jailed almost half of his country dares speak of that. Pakistani PM does the same as well. It seems that poor education in the islam makes it easy to confuse freedom of speech with islamophobia. But it is expected from countries that never learned what freedom/democracy really is.

While I don't condone using violence in resort to blasphemy of the Prophet, you have to understand that with the respect his figure commands in Islamic religion, any attempt at a mockery *will* be taken as a personal attack by Muslims all over the world. The fact that the Islamophobes know this but keep doing it *is* what is radicalizing mainstream Muslims, not the other way round. So you're saying that the 'radicalised' people are simply taking offense to having someone poke holes or laugh at something that *they* believe in, and their abhorrent behaviour can be attributed to (or moreso, blamed on) someone else? Whacked out logic right there - nitwits gonna be nitwits. Actions have consequences and they're entirely responsible for what *they* do.

https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/apples-official-keyboard-best-choice-mac/ Ignore the first couple. They are mechanical. Not all mechanical keyboards are the same regarding noise. You can get silent ones. As for the feel, that's always subjective. I typically only buy mine in store, so I can check out the feel. I have always been partial to Logitech keyboards, but I use a Microsoft Ergonomic at work due to position of hands. I have a Corsair and Logitech mechanical at home and two Inland mechanicals for backup or extra when doing repair work.

  16. Religions are ideas, and like any other, people should be free to criticize, ridicule, or say anything they want about them. Freedom of thought and speech cannot be conditional. Just because you get upset when others don't like what you like, doesn't give you the right to force them to shut up, or kill them. This is why religion should never be allowed to have a place in governments. It is inherently biased.

That's why Mill's quote all by itself means nothing as many philosophical quotes do.

  19. Sort of. Yes it's laws against the discrimination of Jews, but Jews are "ethnoreligious"; an ethnic group whose main cohesion is derived from their religion. Just saying it's not as clear cut as you make it out to be.

  20. The Holocaust is an event, it's a fact. Antisemitism is the hatred of a people, not of a religion. So banning the latter and the denial of the former are not the same thing as banning opinions on a religion. If someone thinks Islam should be banned in some country because the religious texts dictate the subjugation of women and Christians, depict slavery as acceptable, order the death of atheists and apostates (and possibly jews too, not sure), they should be allowed to discuss it.

  23. Neowin trackers and 3rd party cookies

Let's compare it to another popular tech site To be fair lets compare it to another tech website like Neowin So the question remains, what sites are doing "3x less" trackers? We also have a fully configurable opt in/out for cookies privacy at the bottom right of the page. Fact remains, people aren't running this website out of their own pockets we rely on advertising, and yes we also rely on Google analytics so we don't have to spend money on resource intensive things like webalizer and such like, we even offset the site staff email to GSuite so we don't have to run an email server. Last comparison: Even the mighty BBC is comparable to ours. I also want to add that "popular" sites like facebook and google do not rely on 3rd party advertisers at all.. but that still does not mean your browsing with them is private.. so factor that in with the comparisons as well.

I don't know what they consider a "popular" website, but I tested a handful of other tech websites I'd consider popular, and they all have the same or more ad trackers (though some have fewer cookies). Either way, I'm not sure this is a completely reliable tool.

  27. He's exaggerating to some extent, but islam has some extreme punishments for those who might say or hold thoughts that are not in agreement with it. There are a lot of islamic countries where things like apostasy and blasphemy lead to imprisonment, sometimes physicall punishment, and in some cases, even execution. No one should even be arrested for such things, let alone be punished. If, as you say, all extremists should be banned, then perhaps such countries should be banned too.

Coming to this realization, he is at peace with himself, and is finally ready to move on. End credits. Max Paye 3: "My family..." *sreen flickers* "...is DEAD" *screen flickers harder* "I'm drunk..." *more Rockstar 'cinematics'* I hate what Rockstar did to the character. Unless Remedy has a once in the lifetime idea for a new story, just let him rest. The games are still playable today, I'd rather revisit the old ones than get some Rockstar pig slop.

Well to be honest not ad blocking is just as good I feel like if a person is posting about the amount of third party advertiser cookies then they are already blocking them and just posting this to justify their position, when what we are doing is actually perfectly normal across the web. The Privacy tool isn't there for nothing, it serves a function too.
