You should give safari a go, it’s pretty good. Huh? Why would you think that would be suitable for me? I own one Apple product, an iPad and don't even use it on that. LOL Webkit is a bastardized version of Chromium that I already said was not interested in. Maybe try vivaldi if safari isn't your cup of joe. I really like it too. Superuser: "Meh, Brave is Chromium-based so I don't want it." spy beef: "Try Safari." Superuser: "That's also basically Chromium, which I don't want." spy beef: "Try Vivaldi." What is this weird comedy I'm watching? Is the next suggestion going to be Edge?8 points -

you can turn it off easily. What's wrong with Chromium? For me, a couple of reasons. 1) I'm not comfortable with how much control Chromium browsers are having over the marketshare. When you've got an monopoloy, it's only going to end badly. Just look at IE during the earlier years. They controlled the web standards (if you could even call it that back then). 2) There is a feature in Firefox which allows ad blocking extensions to block domains hidden behind a CNAME. Chromium doesn't have this. 3) The new web standards for extensions/not sure in Chromium, makes it much harder for ad blockers to exist. IF the standards go ahead, it will ruin ad blockers for Chromium based browsers.4 points -

Here's hoping for a landslide. It would be amazing if he took the popular vote this time too, by A LOT, like "He couldn't have cheated that much" a lot. Whether it will happen or not .. nobody knows. I gotta ask... I'm Canadian and have no horse in this race but I'm genuinely mind-boggled. I don't watch the news or interact with social media in any way, so accusations of brainwashing don't hold much merit. Why do you like this guy? He's very clearly one of the stupidest public speakers (let alone politicians) I've ever heard, he's done very little positive, most other countries laugh at him, he's constantly lying and breaking promises, your economy is in shambles, has done the worst job worldwide of controlling the pandemic, his stated opinions afford the standard person fewer freedoms, has let corporations run rampant on of normal citizens, and doesn't hold any standard Republican beliefs beyond letting companies do whatever they'd like to (none of which are good things)... what's the draw to Trump? I don't get it. Drop the snarky smear tactic stuff you're doing in the comments and genuinely let me know. I feel like I'm missing something.3 points -

"Google's Project Zero team" Making things better or causing more damage? They cause more damage. There are many times they could let the world know of a vulnerability without giving hackers the specifics of how to use the exploit. In another industry, what they do is criminal. Imagine a group funded by a large bank to find ways to break into other banks, and create their own rules as to what to disclose and hold the other banks hostage to those rules. Imagine them publishing how to break into a bank at night or how to stick up a bank, what Project Zero does is the same and just as criminal. As for the debate above whether they find Google's bugs, it is not common unless they are pursuing another product, and then their deadline polices are not followed, even though they pretend they are an immutable rule when it is someone else's product. There have been a lot of discussion and reporting by other tech sites that call out Project Zero for sweeping Google vulnerabilities under the rug. Google should be fined, and criminally charged. PS As for radio silence. The term doesn't matter, as the terms of what is considered a proper response and a timely response are not based on anything, but an arbitrary metric made up by Project Zero. (A metric that is often moving and inconsistent.)3 points -

sfc /scannow command cause
+Dick Montage and one other reacted to xrobwx71 for a topic
That command has nothing to do with those games. It looks for and replaces corrupted Windows system files meaning files that are specific to the Windows OS. The proper way to run it is to run the DISM first then the sfc. Open a command prompt as Admin by clicking start, type cmd, then CTRL + Shift + Enter And elevated command window should open. In this window, copy and paste this: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth hit enter and let it finish. Then in the same command window, copy and paste SFC /SCANNOW hit enter and let it finish. Hopefully you'll see either "found no corruption" or "found corruption and repaired them" I don't think this will fix your issue. I put it here for your future reference and others. Edit: I agree on the input. Try another keyboard.2 points -

You must have not learned the meaning of "radio silence" well. This metaphor means, "repeated inquiries remained unceremoniously unanswered". Also, since you made me curious, here are some other definitions of "radio silence": > Cambridge Dictionary: a period of time when someone does not communicate with another person or other people. > Oxford Languages: a period during which one hears nothing from a normally communicative person or group. So yeah, my usage is/was correct eitherways2 points -

AMD introduces the Radeon RX 6000 series of GPUs
Brandon H and one other reacted to Paul1979UK for a topic
Price is better, it's got more memory, it uses less energy and I have to wonder what the performance of these cards will be like once the drivers are more mature as AMD are known for giving better performance over the long run than Nvidia does. But even all that doesn't matter, what most wanted was AMD back in the game so we had choices and now it looks like we do, that can only be a good thing for us all.2 points -
AMD introduces the Radeon RX 6000 series of GPUs
Brandon H and one other reacted to Neonix1 for a topic
The primary reason they use AMD is because of cost, since nobody else can deliver an APU / SoC with both CPU and GPU on the same chip. The previous Jaguar CPU's in the PS4 and Xbox One series was horribly underpowered, even the day they were launched, but it was the only option. The other option would be to choose separate CPU and GPU's, which increases costs a lot. Nvidia delivers the same for Nintendo in their Switch, but instead of being x86 based the APU/CPU part is ARM based.2 points -

Our economy is not in shambles, actually it is doing pretty good. I am not sure who is laughing at him and really do not care what loser Countries are doing. The pandemic is equally present everywhere, Europe is the worst but those EU retards are hiding and are quite about it because those loser Countries would go bankrupt in no time if they have to close businesses. The only Country in Europe which has a strong economy is Germany, everyone are else are like f. leaches. I just hope all those factories are returned back to USA so next thing I buy I see made in USA. Unlike leftist who are bitching about last election for the past 4 years and I am sick of it, the other side if it loses won't be doing same talking for four years. Unless you have plans to upgrade your isp from 100mbps connection.. the sg1100 more than likely would be more than enough for you.. Do plan on trying to run IPS or pfblocker (with large lists of blocks - I mean large)? Other than playing with IPS as a learning too - to be honest home networks rarely have any need of that.. And it is a pretty steep learning curve.. And it becomes more an more complex even letting it see traffic to trigger on because pretty much all traffic to and from the internet these days is encrypted.. You can compare specs here https://www.netgate.com/resources/data-sheets/netgate-hardware-comparison.html Do you want/need more ports on the router? The 2100 has 4 switch ports - to be honest just use your switch Does your current switch do vlans? If buy an 8 port gig that does vlan for like $40.. As to wireless through some concrete wall.. Issue not so much that you can't see the signal from the AP through it - but the transmit power on your device prob can not reach back.. Your best option there is put an AP via a wire on the other side of the wall. Worse case use powerline adapter as your wire.. They can normally do close to 100mbps if not a bit above (depends on your house wiring)... Or if you need/want speed - can you use moca adapters? Do you have cable that runs into the place behind the wall where you need wifi?1 point -

Google says "it is open, but yet it is all mine". CHROMIUM is very, very different from Google Chrome. Web research, eg Wikipedia, if you are confused.1 point -

The Internet Explorer era were dark days, and possibly the reason for the rise of Flash.. 😳 I've been using Firefox since 2004, however sadly jumped to Chrome in 2018 because Ff was just so slow and glitchy. I've since moved to Edge and loving it, this is the first time I've owned a computer that I haven't downloaded a browser for.. It's only got Edge, not even IE, and it feels so weird!! It used to be the first thing I did after a reinstall or new computer! But I am curious about Brave. And I do miss Firefox in a way, though it last I used it, it seemed a bit poor..1 point -
