You should give safari a go, it’s pretty good. Huh? Why would you think that would be suitable for me? I own one Apple product, an iPad and don't even use it on that. LOL Webkit is a bastardized version of Chromium that I already said was not interested in. Maybe try vivaldi if safari isn't your cup of joe. I really like it too. Superuser: "Meh, Brave is Chromium-based so I don't want it." spy beef: "Try Safari." Superuser: "That's also basically Chromium, which I don't want." spy beef: "Try Vivaldi." you can turn it off easily. What's wrong with Chromium? For me, a couple of reasons. 1) I'm not comfortable with how much control Chromium browsers are having over the marketshare. When you've got an monopoloy, it's only going to end badly. Just look at IE during the earlier years. They controlled the web standards (if you could even call it that back then). 2) There is a feature in Firefox which allows ad blocking extensions to block domains hidden behind a CNAME. Chromium doesn't have this. 3) The new web standards for extensions/not sure in Chromium, makes it much harder for ad blockers to exist. IF the standards go ahead, it will ruin ad blockers for Chromium based browsers.4 points -

"Google's Project Zero team" Making things better or causing more damage? They cause more damage. There are many times they could let the world know of a vulnerability without giving hackers the specifics of how to use the exploit. In another industry, what they do is criminal. Imagine a group funded by a large bank to find ways to break into other banks, and create their own rules as to what to disclose and hold the other banks hostage to those rules. Imagine them publishing how to break into a bank at night or how to stick up a bank, what Project Zero does is the same and just as criminal. As for the debate above whether they find Google's bugs, it is not common unless they are pursuing another product, and then their deadline polices are not followed, even though they pretend they are an immutable rule when it is someone else's product. There have been a lot of discussion and reporting by other tech sites that call out Project Zero for sweeping Google vulnerabilities under the rug. Google should be fined, and criminally charged. PS As for radio silence. The term doesn't matter, as the terms of what is considered a proper response and a timely response are not based on anything, but an arbitrary metric made up by Project Zero. (A metric that is often moving and inconsistent.)3 points -

That command has nothing to do with those games. It looks for and replaces corrupted Windows system files meaning files that are specific to the Windows OS. The proper way to run it is to run the DISM first then the sfc. Open a command prompt as Admin by clicking start, type cmd, then CTRL + Shift + Enter And elevated command window should open. In this window, copy and paste this: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth hit enter and let it finish. Then in the same command window, copy and paste SFC /SCANNOW hit enter and let it finish. Hopefully you'll see either "found no corruption" or "found corruption and repaired them" I don't think this will fix your issue. I put it here for your future reference and others. Price is better, it's got more memory, it uses less energy and I have to wonder what the performance of these cards will be like once the drivers are more mature as AMD are known for giving better performance over the long run than Nvidia does. But even all that doesn't matter, what most wanted was AMD back in the game so we had choices and now it looks like we do, that can only be a good thing for us all.2 points -
AMD introduces the Radeon RX 6000 series of GPUs
Brandon H and one other reacted to Neonix1 for a topic
The primary reason they use AMD is because of cost, since nobody else can deliver an APU / SoC with both CPU and GPU on the same chip. The previous Jaguar CPU's in the PS4 and Xbox One series was horribly underpowered, even the day they were launched, but it was the only option. The other option would be to choose separate CPU and GPU's, which increases costs a lot. Nvidia delivers the same for Nintendo in their Switch, but instead of being x86 based the APU/CPU part is ARM based.2 points -

Or maybe just that no game in the market right now is optimized for directx 12 rt using cu instead of dedicated rt cores. You got to assume that a RT game will use the compute unit less than a sharers game for shadows, lightning and reflection and that they can be used for RT. But if the games are not optimized and tested for it then you'll surely lose some performance and obviously since it did not make any sense to optimize and test RT game for anything else than rt core ... I was wondering that, the games that have ray tracing might be hard coded for Nvidia card so don't work on RDNA 2, games that use DX12 ray tracing should work on all supporting cards, that could be part of the reason why they didn't show us anything on that. Anyway, it looks like ray tracing doesn't perform as well as the 3080 but is better than the 2080ti which is more than good enough for now and that performance might get better in time with more mature drivers. But honestly, ray tracing isn't that big of a deal for me, that super resolution is and I wouldn't mind knowing more on how that does compare to DLSS. From what i know and i could very well be wrong about that is RTX still used DXR calls but is handling those calls using the dedicated rt cores at the drivers level. AMD from what i understand doesn't have dedicated cores for ray tracing so it will be handling the DXR calls at the drivers level with the normal compute unit. Obviously having dedicated cores for ray tracing will net you better performance but at a high cost which is what we saw with the 5700 XT versus 2070 and what we see with the 6900 being far less expensive than the 3090 and the 6800 XT being around 7-8% less expensive than the 3080 despite according to AMD being more powerful outside of ray tracing. But assuming the 6 thousands series will be as bad as the 5700 XT for tracing is kind of a causal effect relationship and it's always dangerous to make those. You got to assume a ray tracing game will use far less computer units power to handle non ray tracing workload than a normal game so those compute units can be used in an effective way for ray tracing. But obviously drivers will need to mature and the games engine too so i would say if the 6800 performs around 20% less than a 3080 in ray tracing while performing around 7-8% more outside of it it will be very good for AMD since the card is actually cheaper. You got to expect that this highly hypothetical 20% would come down by a 5 to 10% over the next 2 years just by the drivers maturing and the games being optimized for it if the architecture is popular. I doubt it's going to be as bad as the 5700xt, for one it's got hardware based ray tracing and it's a more powerful card, I suspect it will be in-between the 2080ti and 3080, it could also get better in time with more mature drivers because Nvidia's ray tracing didn't perform that well at first but got a lot better in time. I think where things will really get interesting is with the next gen consoles and once games are designed around them, it could offer gamers with Ryzen and 5 series gpu's a few advantages when it comes to how well games are optimized for that set of hardware, that's also when we'll get a real test on hardware performance because for now, most of the stuff is designed around Nvidia hardware. Anyway, we'll get a better idea of this in a few months time, drivers should be more mature by than, both next gen consoles will be out with a few games being better optimized for them and PC's with AMD hardware and all the gpu's will be on the market to test in the wild, basically, I think things can only get better from now on. I don't think PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will create an advantage for RDNA/AMD GPU's on PC. Did you see any advantage for AMD GCN GPU's on PC thanks to PS4/PS4 Pro, Xbox One and One X using GCN? Exactly... I'm pretty sure AMD on PC will benefit very little from AMD in the consoles. It didn't happen in the first round (PS4, Xbox One), why would it happen in the 2nd? There's a massive difference compared to this gen of consoles and the next gen, the cpu was quite different to what we have on the PC. With the next gen of consoles, a lot of the hardware from the cpu and gpu are more or less the same but at different specs, it would be crazy for AMD to not levrage the advantage it's got in designing the next gen consoles as well as it's Ryzen cpu's and RDNA 2 gpu's to not take advantage of the porting process and optimization. It's also very likely that Vulkan and DX12 will get used a lot more because they scale a lot better over more threads, throw in that memory access that AMD has which isn't too different from how the next gen consoles work, it could be quite seamless for developers to port their games over to the PC for gamers with AMD hardware, especially with optimizations. This is the first time in history where the PC and consoles are very close to each other, the cpu's, gpu's are more or less the same, Vulkan and DX12 offers lower level access to the hardware and unlike the current gen consoles, the PC won't gen held back by a slow cpu and SSD performance on this gen of consoles for the next gen. In any case, we'll find out over the next year but the comparison with this gen of consoles is flawed because there was enough differences from them to the PC to making porting more work, that is less likely to be the case with the new gen of consoles and PC gamers with AMD hardware, especially if AMD has leveraged them both to make it easy for developers to port over the benefits to each other which is very likely. Well, when the consoles has launched, Zen3 has already been out for a few weeks, making Zen2 old already. After 1-2 years the cycle will be the same, the consoles will become the new limiting factor while the PC crunches ahead. If you think this generation will be different, then I would have to disagree with that. In time that's true, every tech gets old over time but for now, these new consoles are very competitive and likely will be for the next 2 years as the last gen consoles already had weaknessess from the start with a slow cpu and hard drives, that isn't the case this time around. But I think the PC will pull ahead even faster than they did with this gen and that is mostly because war seems to be braking out with AMD, Nvidia and Intel and that is likely going to speed up progress and lower prices that it wouldn't surprise me if we get a mid cycle refresh of the next gen consoles like they did with this gen. Consoles will always become the limiting factor to what PC's can do but at least this next gen of consoles have a much better storage and cpu performance, throw in ray tracing and all that goodness, it shouldn't hold the PC as much like the current gen did.1 point -
