From our older article on this topic (https://www.neowin.net/news/twitter-will-add-labels-to-misleading-us-election-result-claims) : "Exempt from labels will be Twitter accounts from official sources, such as state election officials or news outlets with independent election decision desks. These include ABC News, Associated Press, CBS News, CNN, Decision Desk HQ, Fox News, and NBC News. These sources will also be considered when labeling potentially misleading tweets, so if a claim is challenged by these sources, a label will be applied to indicate that."3 points -

Lazy in comparison to MS? More like they are just flat out more intelligent about these updates and understand you take small steps, not huge ones. Much easier to refine more subtle changes than large jarring ones. How many years has it been and we still do not have a consistent UI? How about two control panels? Those are just two examples. The only reason this was bumped to version 11 is because it has massive changes under the hood and now supports AS and x86 alike. One thing is apps that hard coded the location of a library/dylib are going to face issues, especially if the developers of said applications no longer maintain them. Ah yeah—I didn’t think about that. I mean there is also a lesson here that all developers should take to heart. 😉2 points -

Twitter is not my big brother. Anyways, Twitter is full of lies. Some companies used the quarantine to move their support to Twitter (why?). They don't answer phone calls or emails anymore. So, they could use bots to answers with the generic "we are looking at it" but it is a lie. And what if I complain? nothing, Twitter doesn't care because it says it is a private matter. So, Twitter is acting as an editor but usually, it doesn't.2 points -

Apple introduces new Macs with Apple Silicon

The RAM is also shared with the GPU. LOL Worse, the displays are only 60Hz which is totally unacceptable in 2020 at that price point. These aren't gaming rigs though so what are we complaining about? I'd never recommend a "PC gamer" a Mac lol. What is this idea "high refresh" is for only for gaming? I need to be at least 75Hz (my current PC monitor) so my eyes don't give out after a couple of hours just browsing the web.. My Pixel 4 XL is at 90Hz is that a gaming phone? There might be one model here or there that doesn't fit the bill, but high refresh rate laptops are marketed and designed for gaming. I think my point is that is changing... So "high refresh" rate TVs have never mentioned for sports watching? Never? Yes, you are correct. It is changing. However, by far the majority are not like that, including high end business machines. Apple has never been about being the first. They are about improving upon existing tech. The AS transition came after MS attempted ARM, for example. I am just saying I am not paying $1200+ for a laptop right now with a 60Hz display nor should anyone else. I can respect that you won’t. Too bad they are in gaming geared machines, which is what I am saying. It is all subjective. I bought a 165Hz gaming monitor recently. It lasted me 1 hour and then I gave it to my daughter. I honestly did not see what the excitement over higher refresh rate was for what I do. I’m sure it’s amazing in games. I didn’t see much a difference at all in anything else and I ran it side by side with my 60Hz. I don’t see a reason to have a battery life hit in a laptop if I see no appreciable difference. I can feel the strain on my eyes... Note, I am just past 50 and work in IT so looking at a monitor all day also at work. it's not about noticing a difference in the short term. Think longer term... My eyes have taken a beaten over the years and I wish had higher refresh displays years ago and things like Night Light avaibile in Windows earlier. I am not saying one needs a 165Hz monitor. LOL I am thinking longer term. I work 10-12 hour days as a software developer. I’m 44 now but I suspect 6 years isn’t going to make it much different for me than now. My vision tests have remained consistent for the last 20 years. I wish could say the same here... I recently moved to progressive lens. 🙁 Ick. Note I said my vision tests have been consistent. I meant the same level of bad. 😁1 point -

That's design by intention though? They're not locking your account because you're a possible spam bot, they're locking your account to get your phone number which they then use for whatever purposes they want. The same thing google does, the same thing microsoft used to do Acording to their rules the phone is optional. And some people cannot give their phone number even if they want to. It was the same problem before, but then you could make appeal, and in 2-3 days max Twitter Suport unlocked the accounts. Also a lot of people gived their phone number but never received the unlock code. Why ? Only option is to make appeal. But now they seems to ignore all appeals. They have focused only on electoral campaign and ignored anything else. And probably will continue to ignore appeals as they are probably tens of thousand - will take a year to check them all. They loose users in this manner. Good, hope the cesspit loses all their members and shuts down. The site always was garbage, never understood what anyone saw in it.1 point -
