  4. This sounds nice on paper but it's another cleaver marketing stunt to fend off the wolves, so to speak. It also calls out Apples own BS line about "everyone paying the same rate is fair". Or the "same rules apply to everyone". All just went out the window here, and just shows it was all fluff. This is also cleaver in that it's basically splitting the base in two, you give out some concessions to the little guys, so it makes you look good, while labeling the big devs as greedy.

"...to qualify for the program, developers need to be making less than $1 million from those sales or be big enough that Apple can't say no to them, like Amazon." FTFY

  9. What is Logitech's problem to USB-C? Their 'universal' adapter STILL has no USB-C version and all their latest hardware (this mouse and the thin keyboard) are micro-USB. Come on Logitech get out of the dark ages. The more USB-C devices I get the more I love it. Can use my laptop power brick to charge my laptop, mouse, headphones, power bank. Now if only Apple... least my power bank has Qi for both the phone and watch. As for BT and Windows. Never had issues here. Though most of my experience is using mice. Though a month I was in rehab after an operation I was using BT ear buds and had zero issues then as well. EDIT: Oh wait. Derp. The MX Anywhere 3 I just bought is USB-C. The dongle however is USB-A. But both my desktop and laptop have BT so I just use that.

Why should we have to apply for this, why can't Apple auto apply us in to this program?

  12. It's not flaky at all. Bluetooth Low Energy stack especially is rock solid and gives no issues. Logitech for some reason love their proprietary USB receivers. All their nice designer collection mice are also reserved for USB, while Bluetooth models are boring black. It depends on many factors, the version of Bluetooth, the chip used, the codecs, the drivers, and the interference of the ambiance Like every other device out there? True. That is not limited to Windows. Not really, if you use the dongle then it is plug and play and everything works OOBE. False. Everything you said applies to any BT enabled device, be it phones or computers. A dongle doesn’t work using magic.

Also at 150 dollars it shoud charge over USB-C At $150 for a mouse, I should be able to use mind control over it and never even have to touch it! LOL

Until the next gen updates hit you won't see much of a difference, other than faster loading and some smoother gameplay. Since I like CDPR's work I think I'll just get the game directly from them on GoG so they can get all the money and play it on my PC, even though I'm still on a older GTX 1070 at 1080p.

  24. Microsoft Pluton is a new security chip for Windows PCs

Seems unlikely if they're working with Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm, and using it for their own cloud hardware. While we haven't seen enough details for me to say, this is likely going to replace Trustzone, TPM, and possibly some of Intels security tech I'm less familiar with. If Pluton is going to be part of an x86 CPU, collaboration with Intel and AMD alone isn't enough. They need to collaborate with Gigabyte, Asus, ASRock, HP, Dell, and other motherboard makers too because that's how they can make sure firmware updates would come exclusively from Windows Update. If, on the other hand, Microsoft puts Pluton chips only on motherboards of its own making, collaboration with Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm alone is enough. The chips are on the CPU, not the motherboard. https://www.microsoft.com/secu...-the-future-of-windows-pcs/ If indeed it does require anything from the motherboard makers, it'll be part of the platform delivered to them by Intel and AMD.

I agree with you. Frankly, 30% is kind of ridiculous. FYI, there is no 'a' in clever. 'Cleaver' is a kind of knife. The cleaver splits the “base the in two”. I’ll allow it.

  34. It's not flaky at all. Bluetooth Low Energy stack especially is rock solid and gives no issues. Logitech for some reason love their proprietary USB receivers. All their nice designer collection mice are also reserved for USB, while Bluetooth models are boring black. Outside of gaming, their highest end mice are dual mode (but yeah, no fancy colors). I still use the dongle though because it provides more use than BT does for me. For example, if I plug in my laptop to my monitor, it switches audio, keyboard and mouse control to the laptop. If I unplug it, it all goes back to my desktop. I can also switch all of them to a third machine if I need to with a couple button presses. Can’t do that with BT unless I were to switch each individual device.

  36. I actually find this all pretty sad, this guy is obviously lonely and desperately wants to feel loved. Yes, any one outside of this can see he's being catfished but the brain will do stupid things when it thinks there's hope of getting that one thing you want. It see's things that just aren't there. However, stupid or naive you may think he is, have some sympathy that this heartless person is taking advantage of that.

They became blurry on monitors with the average pixel density at least on 22 inches 1080p. It's almost Apple-like type of innovation in small scale when they remove 3.5mm jack from iPhones as obsolete technology.

  40. macOS 11.1 beta is out, marking a change in macOS version numbers

2001 Apple: Mac OS X is the last major version of Mac OS Fake news. Mac OS X was never set out to be "the last major version of Mac OS". It was simply so incredibly dysfunctional until version 10.3 which was somewhat useful (and took two years to make) that the idea of calling any version between them "version 11" would have been hilariously stupid. So when Mac OS X was finally mature enough to stand on its own, it had been four years since the 10.0 version was released and the name stuck. Since the development slowed to a crawl after 10.6 and the iOS epoch began, there was never any reason to indicate a major revision with a big number increase. There probably isn't one now either, but Apple wants to make a PR gambit with the move to ARM, even though nobody gives a damn any more about Mac OS numbers. If they want to call it version 11, whatever.

  41. “It also means that at WWDC next year, the Cupertino firm will be announcing macOS 12, rather than macOS 11.1.” It actually doesn’t mean that. You may be right and you may not be but it’s too early to state that assumption as a fact.

  43. WinUI 3 Preview 3 is out with ARM64 support

You realize translation is literally exactly what emulation does, right? They have subtle differences in tech and if anything, performance will depend on raw chip power (something Apple has an edge on), not Apple's implementation of emulation.
