Really? That sounds great, but didn't they vote for a centrist moderate named Biden? Just because one political side runs to the extremes, that doesn't automatically drag everyone to the same extremes. This is the moment where you check where the 'trump' and 'fox' propaganda has taken you. Start with intellectual conservatives, that created the modem conservative and Republican party, and are so disgusted and appalled, they are working along side Democrats to beat back fascism and authoritarianism. You know, the successors to little names like GOLDWATER, and BUCKLEY. Go read Bill Kristol or David Frum or 99% of all the people in the Bush administration that were on the far right, and are now digging in with crazy leftists, just to beat back what they see as propaganda and an enemy to democracy, the modern Republican party of the last 5-10 years. Stop listening to the uneducated toadies, an dinstead, listen to the people that set policy and argued for conservative ideals and policy. Fox was designed to shift focus away from anything bad the Republican party was doing. This is how nearly the entire house was drove out for crimes and in disgrace, and yet not many people noticed, as they were focused on things like Clintons BJ or Obama's brown suit. Or you remember the week long BS stories, like the time Obama was chewing gum in Germany? Why - all because Fox could take issue with crap that didn't mean anything and distract from horrible and gross things Republicans were doing that wasn't mentioned at all on an entire cable news channel or 99% of all right wing web sites like Drudge or Breitbart. I don't know how people are ok with being lied to, and continue to support the bastards that manipulated and lied to them. That cost them things like PRIVACY, broke and held back needed TECH LAWs and purposely broke the core concepts of America and the Internet by killing net neutrality. Wonder why Netflix and Hulu are more expensive and surged their prices that last few years Look in the mirror, you support and voted for those bastards, tha are still lying to you. Time to question, just question if I am maybe the one being 100% honest with you, and maybe the people you thought were and still are lying or distracting you from important stuff. Please please wake up.

Why do you always have to post stupidity like this? Anyone who has a different opinion than you is not a terrorist. Grow up and think for yourself for once. BTW My ISP has not reduced prices or increased speeds (the last up in speed was before Trump) since the appeal of New Neutrality but they have asked to impose data caps.

I'm confused about what I've read since returning to this thread. You were trying to access the OST file to see a password? I don't understand. Was the password in an email? Or was Outlook asking for a password to access your email account?

MS can't and should not remove the "legacy" junk. Get a job in automotive, or most of other industries and you will see how much this "junk" is needed. I'm converting Win2k, XP Automotive testers to Windows 10, without change of the original c# code. Windows is everywhere, not just on your desk.

  11. .PST file

Do you mean OST? It should be the same path as the default PST file that Jim mentioned. Although I think the only reason you would need to access it would be to delete it; an OST file is just a local cache of the emails located on the server (unlike a PST file which is locally archived emails that are not on the server anymore). If you delete/rename the OST file then Outlook will download those emails again when it is next opened.

  20. New report corroborates rumors about the demise of Samsung's Galaxy Note line

This is fine to think but isn't far off from the kind of opinion that resulted in the widespread buying of garbage laptops by people who refused to pay more than $500 for a computer. As long as you only ever want to use your phone for what a <$998 smartphone is capable of doing well, then cool beans bruh. One can get a Dell laptop with a Intel i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD for just under $500 right now. Is that junk? It could be argued either way but... A smartphone under $1000 (to say $500/$600) is certainly not junk these days. Hell, a Pixel 4a at $349 is a really nice phone. I am pretty sure 99.9% of phones in the wild are under $1000. I have always bought flagship phones myself and a more advanced user here but I can't justify a phone over $1000 at all. Phones over $1000 actually have little extra real world capability over phones a couple hundred less so not sure what you are talking about. Your analogy is just poor.

  21. New report corroborates rumors about the demise of Samsung's Galaxy Note line

The Note Line does not make sense anymore... The S line phones are just as big now and it's not like they can make phones any bigger at this point. The S21 Ultra having a S pen is the end of the road for the Note line. Android phone OEMs in general need to pair down their lineups and move to providing better/longer software support.

  22. Qualcomm announces its next flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 888

Um, the M1 doesn't compete much in desktop space, although it does well in a few tests. Even in mobile, it doesn't even compete with AMD's 4xxx mobile processors in power/speed - which is what the M1 does best. I however expect to see some ARM being added to future AMD and/or Intel processors, or at least more of pure RISC type execution path. As for Qualcomm, they would have to ride that line of providing x86 functionality without the specific x86 set, like Apple did, which Intel may still find actionable. It may take Microsoft for something like this to go forward, as ARMv8 added the concept of using additional CPU modules, but Intel went nuts with threatening anyone considering using it - a threat people thought was aimed at Microsoft and WOA, but was to ARM chip makers. My two cents. M1 does a great job vs ryzen.

  25. With Apples new M1 silicon, Intel is rendered near useless. AMD has always been junk in my mind, they're a non issue. A few years of continued Applications being written as pure M1 and the universals being left in the dust, no one will care about intel anymore. The speed and battery life is inhuman for what we're used to. With that being said, Windows has cornered itself with Intel and AMD. BOTH companies NEED Microsoft like never before. There isn't anything else for them now. Unless intel pulls off a miracle they'll be bought by either AMD or Microsoft in the future. Unless Microsoft figures out how to create an OS that is streamlined and integrated into an ecosystem that makes even a little bit of sense out of "Gaming" that will be the final act because the next step for Apple Silicon isn't going to be kind to the competition. Gaming on a Mac will become something that will even begin to worry Nvidia. It might take 10 years but I'd love to see it. I'm a gamer, businessman, and tech junky all around. I'm saddened to see how weak Microsoft and Intel have become in the recent years. I couldn't agree more that Microsoft has to step back and completely reimagine Windows, make something that works for this century and drop the old junk. Let the old people go. Let them stay on Windows 7 and cry. Quit hanging onto IE and the past. Rewrite the whole mess from the ground up and hope intel can pull off 5nm before 2022. AMD is junk....LOL.

  27. On the contrary, I love the Game Bar! (But I do hate the stupid Xbox app, which I uninstalled.) Game Bar is very useful if you need it's functionality, like recording and snapshots, of not just games too (like browser video). Cool it comes with the os and don't need something else. It's extra features can be handy too, at least for geeks (the stats like CPU and GPU use, etc.).

Man, ep5 made me wish the sequel trilogy wasn't so, average. Hell, even Jedi Fallen Order has a better story going for it than the sequels. I guess I'm still not over the fact they did Luke so wrong, IMO. What a waste. It's kind of funny/sad that the animated series/tv series/games side has done a better job compared the big budget movies at story telling.

  38. $400 is still too much for a GPU if you ask me for the common person. I tend to see around $200 is reasonable, maybe $300 MAX. but I tend to feel more comfortable around $150 or less as this way one gets a lot of bang for the buck as that should be able to stretch out a while before it's too slow and the money you saved can be put towards a newer GPU. or look at it this way... I would rather buy two $200 range GPU's over a period of time vs buy a single $400 GPU now since it tends to offer more for your $ that way. plus, I think many people nowadays have become too spoiled and EXPECT 60fps+ all of the time which, while nice (since 60fps+ is basically a perfect experience since movement is liquid smooth), is just luxury as only 30fps or so is truly needed to have a good enough experience with a game, especially single player games. sure, I get if your closer to 60fps it will buy you that much more time before your GPU becomes outdated and all but it's like some people seem to think 30fps is horrible and it's not as it's still playable/good enough as 20fps or lower one might be able to claim is horrible but definitely not 30fps. p.s. my Geforce 1050 Ti 4GB is still passable for 1080p gaming (although is pushing it a bit on games like RDR2(but I played it with graphics on the higher side of things (general textures on Ultra which is highest option available but some others I lowered a bit etc) and VRAM in use was low 3.xGB range)) and I paid like $135 for it in July 2017 (even at the time I knew not to get the 2GB version because I knew the lack of VRAM would end up crippling the GPU where as by the time 4GB becomes a real issue the general GPU will be outdated anyways. so 4GB of VRAM gives one a little more room to breathe and allows one to use higher graphics settings basically instead of crippling that a bit prematurely). I figure by the time that GPU becomes unusable for games ill have gotten decent use out of it as for $135 it's hard to complain in terms of bang-for-the-buck. but in all honesty... I don't play many games anymore as while I still do play one once in a while (I played two in the last month or two(Mafia: Definitive Edition/RDR2)) I am really selective on what ill play and I typically just replay games I like in the past which my current setup (i5-3550 / 1050 Ti 4GB) works either pretty good or well enough for.

  40. Nintendo Switch update adds automatic save data downloads and more

This isn't as outrageous as not being able to play games online when they don't support online, not to mention not being able to play games that aren't available on the Switch. Ridiculous oversights on Nintendo's part. What's with the sass? What didn't you understand? It's a legitimate criticism, there's no way to backup saves for a lot of games. I just like sass. And I did understand what's being said, it was just worded poorly. Which is what I'm making fun of. As to whether it's a legitimate criticism, I can go either way about it. The games that don't support it have big online components (usually) and Nintendo doesn't want people gaining an unfair advantage or using these methods as a way to gain leverage (i.e. by catching the legendary Pokémon in a game multiple times in order to use them for trading). Nintendo could make it so that saves are forced to stay in sync instantly, but I think that would result in more criticism (and more justified criticism, in my opinion). On the other hand, some of these "cheats" can still be done by just having multiple user accounts on the Switch, but again, removing that feature would result in more criticism that I think would be more justified. At least Animal Crossing has the new island transfer tool, and all save files can be transferred to a new Switch if needed. From what I'm aware from reading on various places on the internet, hacking a switch then getting full access to change the save games however you want takes a few minutes. Seems like nintendo would rather just ###### off their genuine customers and isn't actually preventing it at all.

Because you need to hold the tablet. The iPad air, Pro, and even the Surface X say otherwise. there is no advantage to the bezels on a 7 vs an X. i've got both. What about the extra screen real estate? The x has an advantage. I'm saying people arguing you need the bezels on the 7 to hold are wrong.
