Does it make sense to call "Kane" (from Westwood's Command & Conquer series) a villain? As long as you don't play as the Brotherhood of Nod, I think one could do that. Loved the character's portrayal by Joe Kucan. Vile, charismatic, mysterious. Had a strong "Leadership Presence" vibe about him every time a cinematic cut-scene was underway too.4 points -

It is so Bill Gates can make sure the tracking chips is in it, Just in case people take that seriously, I was only joking. I love jokes. But let's be clear here, Bill Gates want to track your ass. That's a fact. Whether that tracking capability will be in the vaccine itself is just an immaterial distraction to the real thing that should be scaring everybody who loves freedom. And that's the fact that they (Bill Gates and other rich Billionaires) want to start tracking your ass from the cradle to the grave under the premise of protecting the world from a virus that kills "virtually"..."VIRTUALLY" nobody. To say it another way, the case fatality rate is so ridiculously low for this virus that it boggles my mind why it has gotten so much over-hyped, over-exaggerated attention other than because that's what they wanted. Condition the masses to fear a virus for months and months so that they beg you for a vaccine when you release it. https://www.armstrongeconomics...ntum-dots-to-mark-children/ How do I insert hyperlinks? "OMG, he just said COVID-19 doesn't kill anybody. I'm gonna crap my britches from the horror". No, that's not what I said. Go back and read it again. You should have really ended this sarcastic post with a /s That whole post is nothing but conspiratorial rubbish.3 points -

What’s wrong with hex editors? I use it often at work, super useful for analyzing and modifying FPGA bitstreams. Nothing, if you actually need them for something else. For one game that will inevitably be patched? Not going there. HAHAHA, eventually get patched... Have you read some of the reviews on this game? I don't think half of the issues will ever be patched officially, seems cdpr is another bethesda They've released several patches already. It plays great for me. A few visual glitches but very playable.2 points -

Vaas and GLaDOS are definitely two of my favourites. Wheatley is also a great character throughout Portal 2, and given his...breakdown towards the end, I guess he could be considered an antagonist. This is a really tough question, much harder to answer than picking protagonists. Looking through my library, perhaps that is because a lot of the games I've played have the player against a group or a race, rather than there being a focus on the individual leader. Maybe Shepherd from MW2? That betrayal stung me. And Konrad from Spec Ops: The Line. EDIT: Not from personal experience, but many people talk about SHODAN from System Shock.2 points -

I tried it, it's definitely better than nothing. But it's much MUCH slower, and not as compatible as a cheap 64gb SSD in a virtual CDROM Zelmon enclosure. https://smile.amazon.com/Iodd-Iodd2531-Black-Virtual-Enclosures/dp/B00TDJ4BJU/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=virtual+cd+rom+storage+enclosure&qid=1607880399&s=electronics&sr=1-31 point -

Now the guy should try something like this for Hell Let Loose and see if it can be replicated for other games with similar issues. The folks that created HLL might actually take the advice and create a real patch for their game since it's still in EA.1 point -

This is Childs Play! This stuff is common knowledge. CDPR did NOT forget to enable it, they did NOT enable it ON PURPOSE. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, likely due backroom deals with Intel, cash in envelopes at the local coffee shop. Intel is desperate nowadays. While I'll never use an AMD CPU, ever. This borders on criminal.1 point -

If I'm gonna spend $2,500 on a laptop, it's gotta have dedicated graphics. Hell, even a $2,400 Macbook Pro has dedicated GPU. 2 in 1 form factors though, you can pick up a Lenovo with twice the storage SSD, 4K screen, and dedicated GTX 1650 for about $1000 less. Maybe the appeal here is just lost on me though. I own an x360 too at least, though I liked my Yoga back in the day more despite the minor issues I had with it (was back before Win10 was a thing).1 point -

Eh, this isn't the impact of Apple. This has been in the works for a while and was working in internal builds for months. They just chose to release it to Insiders now. Apple's impact on the WoA ecosystem will take 1 to 1.5 years to be seen. It'll be after the M2 is out. Things take time. Anything we see now and within the next few months has been in the works for a year or more. Anything new will take time.1 point -

The golfing nun
Inertia reacted to jnelsoninjax for a topic
A nun walks into Mother Superior's office and plunks down into a chair. She lets out a sigh heavy with frustration. 'What troubles you, Sister?' asked the Mother Superior. 'I thought this was the day you spent with your family.' 'It was,' sighed the Sister. 'And I went to play golf with my brother. We try to play golf as often as we can. You know I was quite a talented golfer before I devoted my life to Christ.' 'I seem to recall that,' the Mother Superior agreed. 'So I take it your day of recreation was not relaxing?' 'Far from it,' snorted the Sister. 'In fact, I even took the Lord's name in vain today!' 'Goodness, Sister!' gasped the Mother Superior, astonished. 'You must tell me all about it!' 'Well, we were on the fifth tee...and this hole is a monster, Mother -540 yard Par 5, with a nasty dogleg left and a hidden green...and I hit the drive of my life. I creamed it. The sweetest swing I ever made. And it's flying straight and true, right along the line I wanted...and it hits a bird in mid-flight!' ‘Oh, my goodness’ said the Mother. 'How unfortunate! But surely that didn't make you blaspheme, Sister!' 'No, that wasn't it,' admitted Sister. 'While I was still trying to fathom what had happened, this squirrel runs out of the woods, grabs my ball and runs off down the fairway!' ‘That would have made me blaspheme!' sympathized the Mother. 'But I didn't, Mother!' sobbed the Sister. 'And I was so proud of myself! And while I was pondering whether this was a sign from God, this hawk swoops out of the sky and grabs the squirrel and flies off, with my ball still clutched in his paws!' 'So that's when you cursed,' said the Mother with a knowing smile. 'Nope, that wasn't it either,' cried the Sister, anguished, 'because as the hawk started to fly out of sight, the squirrel started struggling, and the hawk dropped him right there on the green, and the ball popped out of his paws and rolled to about 18 inches from the cup!' Mother Superior sat back in her chair, folded her arms across her chest, fixed the Sister with a baleful stare and said...1 point -

"The left" is not a monolith, nor does have the power to dictate what classifies as "hate speech". Most of that is done by liberals in conjunctions with private corporations. Also conservatives do it as well under the guise of religious freedom, nationalism and patriotism.1 point -
