While I agree with your sentiment the fault lies 100 percent with the developers and management. If the hardware cannot run it, you should not release it on that platform. The end. And you certainly don't cover it up with weird embargos and takedowns until the second it launches to secure pre-orders. IDK, with this new found popularity the dev has started doing updates again. A new map or 2 should be coming out soon if not already and there's a mod that adds proximity chat now (wouldn't be surprised if the dev ends up working that into the game native too) Right I'm not saying the game's been abandoned or anything, just that these things seem to go in cycles. Take Clash of Clans for instance. That was the game a few years ago, now I doubt it's even running anymore. I might be wrong, just hope the devs aren't spending a bunch of money on development that doesn't end up paying off. EDIT: OK quick Google search, CoC seems to still be running. But my point still stands that its popularity is nothing compared to several years ago.1 point -
AMD Ryzen CPUs reportedly get a boost in Cyberpunk 2077 thanks to this unofficial patch
Laurentiu A. reacted to dead.cell for a topic
What’s wrong with hex editors? I use it often at work, super useful for analyzing and modifying FPGA bitstreams. Nothing, if you actually need them for something else. For one game that will inevitably be patched? Not going there. HAHAHA, eventually get patched... Have you read some of the reviews on this game? I don't think half of the issues will ever be patched officially, seems cdpr is another bethesda Loads of small visual glitches. Cars levtitating, people having legs missing, weird colors. None of these bother me, its was a huge project in wich they aimed to make everyone happy. And they surely made me happy! Not that I'm critiquing it or saying their attitude is good or bad, I don't know, but all I read is "they will fix the bugs", yeah? No deus ex game launched with huge issues like this, no final fantasy game launched with huge issues like this, no GTA launched with huge issues like this, yet a game in development for 9 years is filled to the brim with huge bugs after a very delayed release... That doesn't really add up. Pretty sure GTA IV was buggy at launch on PC, coupled with performance issues that plagued it. There was also the ultimate sin that was GFWL that caused issues for both that game and Fallout 3 (which was a mess at launch too). GTA Online is also a crapfest that I don't particularly understand how so many people play it, given the load times, desync, and so on. Personally, I'm more inclined to give them a chance simply because I've had zero expectations for this game and it's come out way ahead for someone who wasn't even keeping up what this series was about. (literally didn't realize it was an RPG until I created a character if I'm being perfectly honest) I'd give them time, but only because of their past reputation. Besides, given the nature of Twitter, I'm sure there are already people foaming at the mouth sending them death threats about an issue already... We're on our way to our own dystopian hellscape all the same! Performance issue, sure, or a chicken acting as police, sure, but did you clip through the floor? Just die out of no where? Have terrible physics? No, these not issues in GTA and shouldn't be in any game with QA testing Can't clip through the floor if the game is unplayable but sure man. That being said, I do fully expect CDPR to fix the game so please don't misunderstand. I just haven't seen anything gamebreaking for me personally, other than some minor bugs. If anything, my complaints with the game have more to do with a few design choices but those thoughts probably won't be heard while you have bigger issues like the way it released on consoles...1 point -

CDPR went in my book from one of the most respected devs out there to most shady developer in gaming. Seems a bit harsh. Not sure what you think of other things in life, including other games developers, that have let people down in way worse manners and many more times. For me this is on the same level of lootbox fiasco with Battlefront 2 that was the start what changed the whole industry away from lootboxes. I think this games has pushed the limit in how far you can go with deceitful marketing + launch a broken product on the biggest install base. Sony / Microsoft usually don’t offer refunds easily. For most of my gamer friends this game turned about to be the biggest disappointment they ever had in a game after 8 years of hype train. Luckily a lot of people are refunding and their stock price is crashing by 30 - 35 percent since release. That is the best lesson for such bad management Microsoft has the 14 days / 2 hours played policy, Sony does not allow refunds if you start downloading the game. They do for cyberpunk now, even after downloading and playing. The news is on all gaming sites. It plays in 17 FPS on PS4 in action sequences. So they issue refunds for everyone that asks.1 point -

Apple rolls out iOS 14.3, watchOS 7.2, and tvOS 14.3 to everyone

Single best thing about iPhones is that you get updates the moment they are announced. Unconditionally. I hated Android so much with ridiculous updating process. Vendor announces update, only X carrier in US gets the update, then it takes weeks for the damn thing to trickle down to Europe and then it takes days to get through the queue per every country or in batches of countries. I hated that nonsense so much where with this I'm just updating both, my phone and my watch this very moment I've noticed the news about new updates. Just sublime experience. ProRaw benefits are separate layers of effects on top of what's usually known as RAW. So you can take photos and ProRaw format has a raw sensor data as well as all the filtering applied, but in layers that you have control over. So you still have full control over the source data, but don't miss out on computational features at the same time. Btw, what do you mean with "mirrored selfie"? My iPhone XR with iOS 14.2 already has "Mirror front camera" setting under Settings -> Camera. Isn't this what would be considered as mirrored selfies?1 point -

How to create multiple profiles in independent Chrome instances
Usama Jawad96 reacted to devHead for a topic
I have been using this functionality for a while, since we use Google Workspace services where I work, and I want a separate profile for my personal stuff. What is great is that this feature works the same with Chromium, as well as with the new Chromium based Edge (albeit with your Microsoft account instead of Google). I like how your profile picture becomes part of the shortcut to each different session browser. A benefit of this is that you can have different sets of bookmarks for each browser session if you associate your profile with a specific Google Account. The same functionality works in Edge with different Microsoft accounts.1 point -
AMD Ryzen CPUs reportedly get a boost in Cyberpunk 2077 thanks to this unofficial patch
dead.cell reacted to eddman for a topic
What do you mean by "lag fest" exactly? I don't personally know how it was at launch, but I have the GOTY edition and a GTX 1060 6GB, and it runs fine, even at near top settings, at 1080. I've capped the FPS at 60 and it stays there, except for a few occasions, notably at novigrad, where it dips to 55-56, but that's because my card is not powerful enough. Apparently it also performed pretty poorly at launch on consoles too but was massively improved with patches, based on DF's performance graphs. P.S. I'm not defending CP's buggy release. They clearly had more work to do, even after all this time.1 point -

Cyberpunk 2077 to get major patches early next year to fix last-gen console experience

To be fair, most developers will write the game on a top end platform, then reduce attributes such as textures, resolution, number of artefacts on screen, graphical enhancements and so on, based on target platform. You won't get a next-gen experience on older platforms, but it should be playable, even it does look a bit blurry / less people on street and so on.1 point -
Alleged Intel Rocket Lake Core i9-11900K outperforms Ryzen 9 5950X in leaked Ashes benchmark
Hifihedgehog1 reacted to Mobius Enigma for a topic
In other test comparisons, and due to the variance of AoTS benchmarks, the 'lead' demonstrated here, is not always a lead, with the 5800X beating this score with the same hardware configuration. Which means the 5900X and 5950X are also beating this score, as they both outperform the 5800X in per core performance, which is where gaming performance lives. (In previous generations, AMD's higher core count CPUs had reduced core and single core performance, with this generation being the opposite by hitting higher core speeds on the higher core count processors.) The other 'disappointing' thing here, is instead of a 10core/20thread CPU, it look like Intel is moving back to an 8core/16thread 900 series processor - so even if this CPU can hit single core and gaming performance on par with the 5900X or 5950X - the core differences will be drastic, as AMD's multi-core efficiency is significantly faster than Intel, combined with additional physical cores on the AMD processors is a hard sell for Intel. If Intel can price this around $300 - it could be viable, but if they are targeting $500 and in the 5900X range, which has 12cores/24threads - even if it can hit as much as 10% faster in some games, it will still be hard to justify for even the most die hard gamer focused buyer. I hope this is not an accurate leak, and Intel has more performance and isn't going to push a lower core count CPU in the i9-xx9xx space - which is a regression back to the 9th generation processor. I get they might have had to do this to get the single core performance up, but if it can't compete, those gains are essentially worthless in the market.1 point -

Ventoy 1.0.30
Xahid reacted to ThaCrip for a topic
Not long ago I stumbled into this for the first time as someone mentioned it on another forum and I am glad I looked into it. it's definitely my new 'go to' multiboot USB program. it's quite simple to use as once installed to the USB stick you simply use the USB stick like usual and anytime you want to install a OS etc from it, you simply copy over the ISO file to the USB stick and then boot to the USB stick, which works with either standard BIOS boot or UEFI, and then select your ISO from the menu and it works and you proceed like usual. I even updated Ventoy recently from the previous version which was simple enough on Linux. you simply issue the following command once your in the 'ventoy-1.0.30' folder "sudo sh Ventoy2Disk.sh -u /dev/sdX" (where the "X" (on the "sdX" part) is the location of your USB stick with Ventoy on it) and it will ask if you want to update Ventoy which does it without any data destruction. but the initial Ventoy installation WILL delete all data on the destination device! p.s. stuff like Memtest86+ (memtest dot org) works with standard BIOS boot but you have to use the 'F1 Memdisk Mode' of Ventoy. for the Memtest86 (memtest86 dot com) you can load the .img file directly (at least through UEFI boot) for it to work.1 point -
