  1. Because AoE2 is touted by many as the best of the series, and one of the best strategy games of all time?

  2. Do they really think people are using that manage disk and volumes rubbish in settings? They should just stop wasting time fixing that. The UI is still unbelievably bad and the function is near zero compared to the classic Disk Management tool.

  14. I am glad it is on PC - and my 1080Ti is managing really well at 2k, but yeah, tons of minor glitches - it is just funny, not reallly game breaking. i did have a bug where i could not complete the mission as ESC button would not exit the selection after i finished, so i just gave up, but next day it worked (i assume overnight GOG applied another patch) i adviced all of my friends who were considering to buy on ps4 or original xbox to just wait and not bother. i cannot imagine them having fun

  17. While I agree with your sentiment the fault lies 100 percent with the developers and management. If the hardware cannot run it, you should not release it on that platform. The end. And you certainly don't cover it up with weird embargos and takedowns until the second it launches to secure pre-orders. CDPR went in my book from one of the most respected devs out there to most shady developer in gaming.

  20. Among Us is coming to the Nintendo Switch today

IDK, with this new found popularity the dev has started doing updates again. A new map or 2 should be coming out soon if not already and there's a mod that adds proximity chat now (wouldn't be surprised if the dev ends up working that into the game native too) Right I'm not saying the game's been abandoned or anything, just that these things seem to go in cycles. Take Clash of Clans for instance. That was the game a few years ago, now I doubt it's even running anymore. I might be wrong, just hope the devs aren't spending a bunch of money on development that doesn't end up paying off. EDIT: OK quick Google search, CoC seems to still be running. But my point still stands that its popularity is nothing compared to several years ago.

Downgrade in processor .. check downgrade in charging capability... check For this price point it is easier buying a proper Chinese phone and not one that pretends to be something it’s not. Don’t think HMD will survive. On the executive level people just keep leaving.

  29. CDPR went in my book from one of the most respected devs out there to most shady developer in gaming. Seems a bit harsh. Not sure what you think of other things in life, including other games developers, that have let people down in way worse manners and many more times. For me this is on the same level of lootbox fiasco with Battlefront 2 that was the start what changed the whole industry away from lootboxes. I think this games has pushed the limit in how far you can go with deceitful marketing + launch a broken product on the biggest install base. Sony / Microsoft usually don’t offer refunds easily. For most of my gamer friends this game turned about to be the biggest disappointment they ever had in a game after 8 years of hype train. Luckily a lot of people are refunding and their stock price is crashing by 30 - 35 percent since release. That is the best lesson for such bad management Microsoft has the 14 days / 2 hours played policy, Sony does not allow refunds if you start downloading the game. They do for cyberpunk now, even after downloading and playing. The news is on all gaming sites. It plays in 17 FPS on PS4 in action sequences. So they issue refunds for everyone that asks.

  30. The game on OG / Xbox One S & base PlayStation 4 are bad. CD Project Red authorized refunds for Sony/Microsoft and issued an apology. They also indicated they will have an update for PS4/Xbox One in the future. https://www.polygon.com/2020/1...ox-one-bugs-issues-glitches I'm enjoying it now (since the 1.0.6.0) that it doesn't crash constantly on the Xbox One X. I was getting frustrated at how frequently it would hang, froze, or crashed back to the dashboard. I think it looks and runs great on an Xbox One X or Xbox Series X|S in quality mode. I haven't noticed any major bugs yet. Just minor stuff. Like a guy having a hamburger disappear from his hand but he still eats an imaginary burger. And then you see the burger rise up from below to go into his hand. And luckily, the Xbox version is not a ghost town like the PS4 version. There are practically no people walking around in the PS4 version.

  35. YouTube starts removing videos claiming Trump won the election

Freedom of speech does not mean freedom of the consequences of the said speech. That will be sued into oblivion pretty quick. Actually, freedom of speech means exactly "freedom of the consequences" i.e. 100% freedom. It doesn't matter who restricts your speech (family members, co-workers or government). Freedom of speech have range and can be measured in every defined environment. People surrounding you defines how much freedom of speech you have. Freedom of speech of the country is defined by how freely you can speak at home, company or publicly. Jut because the government of the country can't enslave you doesn't mean that other powerful entities won't. Each country have between 0% and 100% of Freedom of speech. Each country have more or less things you can say without consequences. You have no idea how that works, do you?

  36. How to create multiple profiles in independent Chrome instances

I have been using this functionality for a while, since we use Google Workspace services where I work, and I want a separate profile for my personal stuff. What is great is that this feature works the same with Chromium, as well as with the new Chromium based Edge (albeit with your Microsoft account instead of Google). I like how your profile picture becomes part of the shortcut to each different session browser. A benefit of this is that you can have different sets of bookmarks for each browser session if you associate your profile with a specific Google Account. The same functionality works in Edge with different Microsoft accounts.

  38. Did you read the threads? 1. Apparently it was a setup issue, since the game wasn't even running on the 1060, but on the iGPU. 2. He uninstalled and re-installed the driver and it fixed the issue. 3. Apparently he was trying to play at a mix of high/ultra (didn't specify which is which) and was seemingly expecting 60 but couldn't. That's not abnormal. He managed to hit 60 with shadows set at medium. Maybe it was also a driver issue. 4. It's not easy to follow the thread, since the OP user is deleted. There are mentions of an FX CPU. He managed to get 60 at high with ultra textures (which is normal). The thread is inconclusive. 5. He was running the card at PCIe x4 instead of x16. Once he changed that, the performance increased to the expected level. 6. He changed the card's power mode to "maximum performance" and it fixed the issue. Having different performance on different PCs is not shocking. There are countless different setups out there, not all of them are properly setup or well maintained. In some cases it's a driver issue, some other a windows issue, sometimes the CPU is bottlenecking, in other cases the card is overheating, etc. EDIT: I re-checked my settings. I have the regular settings on high, except for textures at ultra, but hairworks is at max (high) and its AA is at 4.

  42. To be fair, most developers will write the game on a top end platform, then reduce attributes such as textures, resolution, number of artefacts on screen, graphical enhancements and so on, based on target platform. You won't get a next-gen experience on older platforms, but it should be playable, even it does look a bit blurry / less people on street and so on.

I tried it, it's definitely better than nothing. 45. Ventoy 1.0.30

Not long ago I stumbled into this for the first time as someone mentioned it on another forum and I am glad I looked into it. it's definitely my new 'go to' multiboot USB program. it's quite simple to use as once installed to the USB stick you simply use the USB stick like usual and anytime you want to install a OS etc from it, you simply copy over the ISO file to the USB stick and then boot to the USB stick, which works with either standard BIOS boot or UEFI, and then select your ISO from the menu and it works and you proceed like usual. I even updated Ventoy recently from the previous version which was simple enough on Linux. you simply issue the following command once your in the 'ventoy-1.0.30' folder "sudo sh Ventoy2Disk.sh -u /dev/sdX" (where the "X" (on the "sdX" part) is the location of your USB stick with Ventoy on it) and it will ask if you want to update Ventoy which does it without any data destruction. but the initial Ventoy installation WILL delete all data on the destination device! p.s. stuff like Memtest86+ (memtest dot org) works with standard BIOS boot but you have to use the 'F1 Memdisk Mode' of Ventoy. for the Memtest86 (memtest86 dot com) you can load the .img file directly (at least through UEFI boot) for it to work.

  47. How to backup your files and reinstall Windows 10 with recovery media

I strongly advise against using built-in Windows components to create backup copies. Windows has never been good in that department. As a rule of thumb, don't use any backup solution that saves its backups in ZIP files. There are several free backup solutions I can advise: Macrium Reflect or Veeam Agent Free edition. Of course, Lifewire has listed 34 choices.

How do you get 5.1 audio "built in?" What, they put some sound bar (calling that 5.1 is a major stretch...okay, it's an outright lie) inside a $18,000 TV? Who would use that instead of a dedicated 5.1 system when you are spending that much on a TV?
