Apple reverses stance about popular Mac app being named after a drug

That’s ultimately the problem with Apple’s review department. They get a bunch of what I can only assume are interns and let them loose. You can submit an app three times and literally get three different reactions.8 points -

Used to be thrilled about these types of things 20 years ago. Can remember getting my hands on an exclusive build of Windows XP build 5.2.3790 (Windows Server 2003 codebase) for x86 even though this version was being designed for x64 platforms. Maybe I'm not so much of fanboy anymore, maybe its that I'm grown, maybe its that I don't really have time anymore, I dunno.7 points -

What next, Apple knowingly using forced and forced child labor and leveraging those lower costs against other suppliers, pushing them to employ similar tactics to compete for Apple's business. Nah, not Apple. /s PS And no, everybody does not do this. Few companies can even survive having horrific suppliers unknown, let alone knowingly for years and using it for lower cost deals. Apple has proved they are nothing more than sick ######ers. Sick.1 point -

Thankfully no; more that your utter lunacy fit the word perfectly, much akin to your metaphorical boot. I find saying crazy things an acceptable alternative to hurtful personal attacks that you hurl at other people. Unlike you, I find it highly objectionable to call someone a lunatic. Of the three people in this thread who didn't like my comment, you're the only one who used personal attacks. What Apple did to Gustafson, what infamous dictators do, and what you did here to me, all have a common component: Egregious overreaction.1 point -

They have no physical windshield wipers? How does that work? It has them, just no physical nob to turn them on. It's either automatic as the car senses it needs them or you have to look over at the computer screen to turn them on. Oh... I missed the word "switch". I am not sure why the OP needs a physical knob. l would like one too. For when the automatics don't kick on and you can't see and so you don't have to turn your head from the road and dick with an LCD screen to turn them on. Telsa doesn't have voice command?1 point -

For when the automatics don't kick on and you can't see and so you don't have to turn your head from the road and dick with an LCD screen to turn them on. This sounds like a conversation about not giving up the physical keyboard on a Blackberry for a glass keyboard. I just got my 2021 Model Y. There is a physical button for the wipers. You press it once to get a one time wipe (and also it opens the wiper menu on the touchscreen for more options) or you press and hold to activate window washing. Pretty sure the previous year Y and 3s all had this as well. In general though, if you are a fan of physical controls for everything than Tesla is probably not for you. I find having everything in the center screen, including the speedometer, really easy and not distracting at all and the multi-function controls on the steering wheel are really intuitive imo.1 point -

Build quality is terrible. And when things break and need replaced they’re back ordered and take weeks/months to resolve. Glad real OEMs are finally entering this segment. The only plus Tesla offers is axing the dealer networks and buying straight from them.1 point -

They've got the cool stuff down and the performance. Now if they could just take a year and focus on good build quality and actual car "standards" every other auto-maker has. There are some real build-quality issues for the money, and some controls just need to come out of the center console.1 point -

This was also my first thought, but the second thought was different... I think they abadoned it, because nobody is using it. As there aren't Windows Phones anymore, i can't imagine people holding letters in front of their PC Webcam to scan documents, as they do with their phones. The majority of Windows 10 notebooks are either Tablets or 2-in-1 devices. This is the craziest statement I have read today. Oh, except all the Microsoft Surface products and the majority of notebooks that are 2-n-1 - nobody is using it. Really? i.e. I only drive a brown car, thus no other color cars exist and I cannot imagine red cars are ever used. Sorry, but Office Lens on Windows has little to no use since its a niche market for a document scanning with the app. It is far easier and convenient to scan stuff with mobile phones. I'd reckon Windows Phone users still holding on to it use the app more frequently than Windows Laptops/Tablets/2-in-1s user Anyway, using your analogy, just because your car looks good in a rainbow paint scheme doesn't mean the manufacturer should provide that option across their entire lineup.1 point -

DentedAphid7 reacted to Fleet Command for a topic
Can't say I am surprised. Between the number of users, development cost, manpower and expertise required, commitment toll, COVID-19 impact, and overall usefulness, Microsoft decided the app is not worth it. And besides, soon, people are going to be able to use Android apps in Windows. Since there is an Android version of Office Lens, you can say that it isn't really dead on Windows.1 point -

I work in front of a computer 8-10 hours a day, 5 days a week. As much as I love PC gaming, it is liberating to get away from the computer after a full day of working in front of one... Which is why I prefer consoles, unless I'm playing Warzone or WoW online with friends. Sitting down in front of a computer at home for gaming feels like going back to work after sitting in front of a computer for an entire day at the office, or, in these times, at home (work from home). A console gets me away from "the desk" which is exactly why I prefer it, regardless if the game would look far better on my RTX 3080 and LG 38GN950 38" ultrawide monitor.1 point -
