Microsoft debunks rumors of being forced to use Duracell batteries in Xbox controllers
Ideas Man and 14 others reacted to samw61 for a topic
"In response to this statement, Microsoft strongly denied the allegation" Lets break this down to see why this is newsworthy. What is the allegation here? "That MS use batteries from one supplier and that they have an agreement because they need batteries" Why is it a problem? It's not. Why did some people get worked up about it? They misinterpreted "bundling batteries from a particular manufacture" as "YOU MUST ONLY USE THIS MANUFACTURERS BATTERIES OR ELSE IT WILL EXPLODE AND THE COMMIES WILL EAT YOUR FACE" What does this teach us? Some people have learned to read, however still haven't learned comprehension, yet these people are still allowed to participate in society (or even become POTUS). So why is this news worthy? Slow tech news day.15 points -

There's nothing to investigate. Every court in every state threw out the lawsuits because of a complete and utter lack of evidence supporting any claims of any widespread voter irregularities. etc. Every state that needed to do an audit because the vote was close did an audit (Georgia did THREE audits!) and certified their results. It's already been investigated by all of the states and the results have been certified. The "10 days" thing was a political stunt by craven and cynical political flacks trying to kiss up to Trump's ignorant, gullible, cowardly base for future elections. National politicians have no legal right to block a state's certified votes and even SCOTUS told these lying, corrupt sycophants to ###### off. Trump lost. The facts don't care if people understand them or not. It's true regardless.12 points -

Nothing more and nothing else. Instead of people questioning the claims of voter fraud from the start, they're buying into the idea. I mean Trump was talking up and started the idea going well before we even got to election day. Hows that old saying go? It's actually one decision I agree with Microsoft on. I support removable batteries in controllers almost more than I do in phones. I've had to replace my whole PS4 controller a couple times because the battery cell died in it completely. The controller hardware is still completely fine; I hate having to replace a whole controller and spend $60+ for a new one instead of just swapping the batteries out. Oddly enough the only wireless controller with a built in battery that I was ever truly satisfied with was the Wii U Pro controller. Was well built and that battery would last months before having to be charged most the time. Haven't had any issues with the battery cell dying either like I've had with the DS4 controller. /rant5 points -

Microsoft didn't debunk anything. The allegation was there was an agreement between them and Duracell for Duracell to supply the batteries included with the controllers, not that that's particularly newsworthy. Microsoft's "rebuttal" says consumers are free to use any battery brand they like which, uh, wasn't the claim. Maybe someone was claiming that only Duracell batteries work in the controllers or something, which would make MS's rebuttal make sense but as it stands it really makes none.3 points -

Indeed. He purposely sought division. HOW? C'mon. Trump tried to build a wall not against LBGT, not against women, and not against BLM, but everybody feels riled for their own and stupid reasons. The so-called division is an excuse. If you are not Mexican or Chinese or a shareholder of Amazon, then Trump did nothing against you. Gentle Bear so much?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wo3PAfV2EA lol, are you living under a rock? Not build a wall against LGBT's? You had two SCTOUS judges practically salivating at the fact they have a super majority now thanks to Trump's nom, they even wrote dissertations offering a playbook about striking down Gay Marriage. Looking at the "T", did you glaze over the actions early on in his term about his policies and treatment of trans military members? Not against BLM? LMAO. WHAT? You're kidding right? He practically destroyed the NFL's viewership because of a simple protest like BLM kneeling. Talk about cancel culture. Let alone his entire "Law and Order" premise about the protests that happened last year. Which again, were largely peaceful and when looked further into the riots, we're stoked by antagonizers and out of state agitators. See: Kyle Rittenhouse (often cited as a hero in trumpy circles, in fact I think I can go hunt down some post likes on this very site stating this). Not to mention the whole despicable tear gassing in DC during the BLM protests. And no wall against women? The verdict is still out on that, but we'll see how his judges rule on abortion cases and other reproductive rights issues. Riled up over stupid reasons? Yeah, okay. lol. I mean, my entire way of life could be at risk depending on what his Supreme Court does with gay marriage, adoption. But yeah, "stupid reasons". ######. You don't have to like who I am as a person, but don't try and pretend that dear leader isn't waging a war in the supreme court on who I am as a person. No it's not. You don't have a right to free speech on Youtube or any other business. "The First Amendment (Amendment I) to the United States Constitution prevents the government from making laws which regulate an establishment of religion, or that would prohibit the free exercise of religion, or abridge the freedom of speech, the freedom of the press, the freedom of assembly, or the right to petition the government for redress of grievances. It was adopted on December 15, 1791, as one of the ten amendments that constitute the Bill of Rights." "Although the First Amendment applies only to state actors,[1] there is a common misconception that it prohibits anyone from limiting free speech, including private, non-governmental entities." The first amendment only prohibits a state actor (a person who is acting on behalf of a governmental body) from limiting someone's ability to speak freely.3 points -

I'm sorry, but investigation would only be necessary if there is sufficient evidence to warrant investigating it. There isn't. There is simply no evidence of widespread fraud that would warrant the accusation of fraud, let alone mandate an investigation. As proven by every court in the land rejecting the claims out of hand. Conspiracy theories from nut jobs, or signed affidavits from MAGA idiots that Trump lawyers dragged in and got to sign a piece of paper is not evidence. It is delusional to think otherwise.2 points -

Yes, they're silencing him. Dems also said they want to impeach or impose the 25th amendment, charged with sedition and/or treason. Cori Bush said she will have all republicans expelled from the congress. Yes, Trump needs to impeached and removed via the 25th Amendment. He is not competent to be President anymore (if ever was) and is obviously not stable. He literally incited a riot that put Congress in danger. Come on. WTF? Cool! Cori Bush has an opinion. Um what? How do you figure he incited a riot? Please show us where he told people to do that... Seriously, some people are so sadly deluded by their hatred of Trump. What a poor way to live... I'd argue dwelling on how other people feel about him is an equally sad way to live. That's a pretty sad deflection... Are you going to share something of substance to the conversation, or are you just here to run your mouth and attack me? I am not attacking you. If you feel it applies to you, then...well that's all on you, because I certainly didn't say it. You are doing plenty of attacking here...don't try to place blame on others. Bring critical as a participant of the conversation is different than your shoot-and-retreat tactic... Again, if all you're going to do is troll and deflect the conversation, then please take that elsewhere. We'd like to stay on topic... Say what? Does Trump actually have to say the words "Go riot at the Capital and storm the fences and doors" for you to be able to see how he incited it? Cults (which most Trump followers are in) do not require their leader to do that as most members of a cult are so brain washed that it isn't even required for them to do what their leader is implying. It's about time Facebook did this also! “We’re not going to stand for it” and similar rhetoric is so easy to rile people up while maintaining deniability. Trump knew full well what that could entail if radicals took it to heart.2 points -

Now they're calling these people terrorists. They say 4 died making it sound like they killed 4, in reality a SS killed one and three others died of health conditions in the area. Peaceful protest??? Only three broken windows? It wasn't even a legit protest. You can't protest made up ######! Did you even watch the video? #facepalm They wanted to protest to have the objections heard. The objections were to allow a federal audit of states. States say it hurts their sovereignty to have a federal audit of the votes. 6 Objections were filed and only one went to vote, 64 republicans voted against the objection. Confirmed, no legit protest. LOL News flash... Biden won in a landslide. There was no multi-state conspiracy to steal the election. I could understand if our Presidential elections were actually run by the Feds as that would actually make it easier to rig. What really happened is... Trump held a rally at the same time then preceded to rile them up with lie after lie about how the election was a fraud and that is was being stolen from them. That was the theme NOT that we simply want a fed audit of the election. He ended with a call to literally march on the Capital to be heard (aka incited a riot). No Trump, no rally this does not happen. Period. End of story. We just have a "small" crowd hanging outside the Capitol "protesting" and looking stupid.2 points -
