  1. Just like Facebook, the internet would be a better place without Twitter.

  2. Part of the problem here is, you ban one person while allowing others to keep posting the same kind of hate and unrest. Rules need to be applied to all who violate them at the time the violation occurs. Not when the ###### has already hit the fan.

  3. Ignorance on full display. Twitter continues to host terrorists and their tweets, pedophila, explicit nudity, the list continues. This has nothing to do with "unable to moderate" becuase Twitter ONLY moderates one group while the far left wing (redacted, see I can't even speak my opinion here without CCP censorship) are free to post everything "against the TOS" just as the right does. On the upside, the internet will split, we're more divided than ever thanks to big tech and this will continue to fuel the inventible. Also, Apple is responsible for EVERYTHING that happens on their phones. Why aren't they moderating their phones? Terrorists use them? Murderers, etc. Think about that. One rule for thee, but not for me. Oh .. it doesn't matter. This audience here is full support of a communist takeover. Social Credit Score, and no hot water or electricity because you didn't have the correct opinion. Your phone company has just blacklisted you because you said something they don't like. Oh you're not allowed to watch that channel anymore. etc.. We're on our way without a MASSIVE course correction.

  8. Imagine Apple banning Facebook app because Facebook used to organise violent protests in Ukraine with hundreds of deaths back in 2013. Why that didn’t happen? Because the Globalists supported Ukrainian protests. Hypocrisy at its’ finest. ”For my friends everything, for my enemies the law”.

  9. That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard on here. Why? It's the same exact principle that was just applied to Parler. If they're responsible for *every single word that's said* then Apple should be held responsible for the very same on their phones. Obviously death threats, threats of violence against others should be removed, pedophilia etc. It's not removed on twitter. The leader of Iran that murders gay people for being gay and throws them off buildings is still on twitter. A terrorists regime, is allowed to post on Twitter right now. The fact that one group sees this as OK is one the scariest things I've encountered in my lifetime. All the while the President tells people stand down, be peaceful, don't destroy, etc. Those words are characterized as hostile. We live in a clown world with clowns in charge. I would replace the word "clown" with a more appropriate word but again, censorship, my words make people cry and that's somehow my problem to the left.

  10. Exactly, go on there and post anything counter to what they like and your posts get removed or you get banned. So much for free speech, more like free to post what I agree with. So then it really is just like Facebook!

  11. This is lovely. They're probably gonna go the way of 4chan. In any case, breaking the radicalization pipeline for the average internet user is good. It's too easy for gullible (average) people to get caught up in a web (no pun intended, but one works) of disinformation leading to estrangement from reality. Parler may seem like a free platform to some but only people with a specific viewpoint have decided to join it, so it is an echo chamber. Further, it moderates content, just not a specific kind that those people post.

It was acceptable for "certain" people to egg on and support a complete year of riots and hundreds of millions of dollars in burned city damage, but when there's one assembly of Trump supporters and some windows were broken, it's magically a terrorist attack with a ploy to overthrow the government. The double standard is laughable, but the conservatives are embarrassingly bad at playing the game...

I'd really like to see more 16:10 devices. For computing, it's nice to have a bit more vertical space. I'd really like a 4K 16:10 screen, but I haven't seen any. Over the years 16:10 screens have become more rare as manufacturers got lazy and just made everything the same aspect ratio as televisions. Really though, it would be nice if video content was standardized on 16:10 rather than 16:9.

  17. Actually, I take that back, this one is. Payroll taxes were temporary once. Masks are the next thing. They're completely useless but it's the control and fear that will make them permanent. Has nothing to do with health and safety. Never did. It doesn't matter what you think or how you feel. You're not in charge of "you." Facebook, Instagram, Google, Amazon are your Government now. Masks are useless? Let's ask Herman Cane, oh wait. Masks are useful... that's why the places that use them haven't had outbreaks... oh wait... Ah yes. That’s why people on the front lines who wear masks get covid way more than not, right? Please. Masks are not the perfect full proof solution but are by far one of the more effective ways to prevent spread. Masks have reduced transmission rates considerably. Get real.

  18. This place is an echo chamber. I'm an opposing viewpoint you don't like. But you all aren't ready for that conversation. Moreover, you can't handle it yet without banning, censorship etc. I mean this place has a record of "infractions" because I said something, a word that someone didn't like. Their emotional state is somehow my responsibility. Once they come for you, then you're going to have that conversation whether you want to or not. Until, you all can just continue agreeing with each other and make less than zero progress.

  19. See, you'd have an actual argument if these were government sponsored entities, that people were forced to use. But they're not. Nothing is stopping someone from going elsewhere and using whatever social media that want, that garners discussion a said person is interested in. Government institutions shouldn't be using private venues anyways for their official communications. The fact that Trump basically ran his platform from Twitter is an embarrassment to the country, and you're kidding if you don't think government operations were announced from his personal twitter account either. Some cabinet members found out they'd been fired only from Twitter, prior to getting any official communication from proper channels. Twitter should be ashamed of themselves, not for the fact that they banned Trump, but for the fact that they let this entire situation escalate from the getgo, and became the defacto platform for Trump to disseminate his thoughts. They saw $$$ and the advertising revenue over doing what's right. Had they applied their terms and moderation consistently from the getgo, just as they do for basically every other high profile Twitter account, the shock and awe to his supporters would have been easier to stomach. The only reason social media got the balls to finally axe him is because they don't have to worry about 230 anymore. Which to a "patriot" parroting around for its removal is quite ironic, as it basically allows the government to force a private entity to stifle regular communications. Now there's a violation of the first amendment if I ever saw it, and it actually would be the big C word that the right loves to shout about. Such a ridiculous situation. Trump built his house of cards on this platform, and now has been cutoff from "the people" because he violated a private services terms/agreement. It's the epitome of a private company's right's in the United States. That's capitalism. Pure and simple. Not Communism or other buzzwords people have been screaming. I guess when Trump ran his platform on social media, one could think that Facebook/Twitter/Big Tech are indeed the government, but well, Trump made his bed, now he has to live in it. It doesn't have to be this way, and I seriously doubt it will be. Sorry you got cut off from your cult leader, we'll be back to normal in about two weeks, and won't need to rely on social media to "have total control" anymore.

  21. "we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence." Translation... "we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further truth being spoken by the president and we can't have that. so we naturally we will just claim it's violence (or some other BS) to silence him'. hell, those crooked leftists even took down Parler as we speak because they won't cave into their demands. how anyone can support the left nowadays is beyond me as they are hostile towards the truth. 'Isaiah 5 : 20' pretty much sums up the left where good is now bad and bad is now good. but like that verse in the bible says, it's going to get a little on the hot side (i.e. hell) when they check out of this life and move into the next. those full-on anti-Trump types tend to be the ones most hostile towards Jesus Christ in my estimations. but it's not surprising as they are headed towards communism which the father of lies (i.e. satan) loves. but people like them (Twitter/Facebook/Google and the like) tend to get worse and worse the more power they think they have and can get away with. when someone like them has unchecked power they inevitably abuse it to the max as it shows you what's in their hearts and it's not from God to state the obvious. you can already see what they (the leftists politicians etc) will try to do if they ever get a lot of power again (i.e. basically damage the USA and the common good). but those types of people who can't see the world through the lens of Christianity (which is ALWAYS a good baseline judgement of morality and the like since it's at the core of our existence and how things function. those who ignore Christian morality basically ignore part of reality) tend to be blind and can't see the left is off-the-rails and buy into the constant lies of the corrupt mainstream media. p.s. I am not saying everyone on the right has a halo on their head. but when you look at politics as a whole right now it's blatantly obvious the left are the villains and against the common good. but that's inevitable as they get more and more disordered and eventually begin to hate the truth... "The further society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those that speak it." - George Orwell ; or another good one... "To anger a conservative, lie to him. To anger a liberal, tell him the truth" - Teddy Roosevelt.

The double standard is laughable, but the conservatives are embarrassingly bad at playing the game... awwww i think its cute how you are downplaying the insurrection Down playing what? The people that broke into the capitol building was a limited group and most, if not all, have been found and arrested, as they should. What imaginary ploy are you talking about? Assume all you want, but that unrest lead to nothing... A little different than thousands of riots that lead to murders and massive amounts of damage. Simply amazing that you think that's okay, but are willing to go off the deep end based on an "uprising" that was short lived and lead to nothing... How's your eyes feeling behind those blinders...

  29. What is "hate speech"? Some new religious dogma of the new non-Abrahamic religion? This sounds nothing more like a handy label for marking people which you don't like but is meaningless, threats are illegal, edgy statements aren't. If you have to ask to have it explained, I don't think there is a definition of hate speech that exists that you would except let alone understand. But here it is: "Hate speech is defined by the Cambridge Dictionary as "public speech that expresses hate or encourages violence towards a person or group based on something such as race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation". Hate speech is "usually thought to include communications of animosity or disparagement of an individual or a group on account of a group characteristic such as race, colour, national origin, sex, disability, religion, or sexual orientation". I suspect you'll denounce Cambridge next so it makes my point. "Cambridge Dictionary" is another great example of a Marxist Super structure to define something that doesn't exist in society to make it seem more like it doesn't. Like Wikipedia, run by far left wing (redacted) and edited to suit their feelings, not the facts. I'll happily denounce Cambridge or anything or anyone that says Hate Speech is a thing. They're a clown and of no consequence. Another lost liberal Democrat with a liberal arts degree that's confused as to why they're poor and working at Waffle House bringing my breakfast. ... Eggs over medium please. Make it snappy. The defense rests.

  31. Ahh 4chan, that was the name of the "social media" platform I was thinking of!! The concern of any social media platform these days are that they are all echo chambers. News sites are also really bad, depending on how strong their bias is. Disinformation is too easily looped back on itself. I have a friend here in Aus who is not a Trump fan by any means, but he claimed something that just wasn't true. I asked him where he heard that from, and his reply was "my pastor told me". So I asked where his pastor had heard that. "They watched a video". He's a relatively smart guy, but the issue with someone you trust telling you anything, is that you are inclined to believe them. The same applies for Trump as POTUS, though on a much broader scale (even internationally). People trust him, and took him on his word. Turns out, all he was doing was reading things that he wanted to, the biggest echo chamber of all, and he "legitimised" what was previously written off as loony, and to his supporters, it became fact. And that is irrespective of if it was true or not.. Glad to see the end of him. And exactly WHY are you *glad to see the end of him* - be it Trump or anyone else? If he broke the law, it would be one thing. However, what law - if any - did he break? Do I always agree with him OR his opinions? No. I did not agree with President Obama (or President-elect Biden) either - in neither case, did I want their mouths literally (or figuratively) zipped. Re-read "The Scarlet Letter" - you DID attend high school, didn't you? Do you really want to go "there"?

  35. Also, although not directly in response to you, There's also a difference between free speech vs hate speech, and even then free speech is protected within a government based system/platform, i.e Trump/Biden/Pelosi/McConnell, etc... can't silence you. A private company (and no, just because they're publicly traded on a stock market doesn't suddenly make them suddenly complaint to the 1st amendment) can basically do what they want when removing content. Not to mention they assume a tremendous lability not moderating user generated content. Not to mention, actual 1st amendment protections do not guarantee/protect hate speech, causing undue harm to someone. Government or not. And it's not like you need to be a lawyer to understand this. This is basic civics 101. It was drilled into your brain if you were paying attention in class.

  41. I really like that you specify "to an extent" because even free speech in a governmental context has limitations. There are absolutely things you can say that the government can persecute you for in all parts of the world, including the USA. It's super-precedent and was voted on, 9-0. Now I don't necessarily agree that each instance of the government persecuting people for speech has been fair, but that is the reality, and that is the law that's upheld by courts. Many Americans live in a delusional fantasy that US courts do or have ever recognized "natural rights" (regardless of the beliefs of the framers). It's a neoliberal lie told by corporations so people feel like they have some semblance of control (over the government, which they don't, instead of trying to get any over the economy, which they don't either under a neoliberal model). If you declare the current US state as illegitimate and try to overthrow it the way the founding fathers did using the same arguments they used to justify such an act, you'll make no more than a fool out of yourself and land in prison for the rest of your life. Bolded the relevant bit here: If you run around a crowded airport and shout "There's a bomb!!!" when there is none, is that free speech? Absolutely not. Freedom of speech allows you to say what you want, it doesn't shield you from potential repercussions of that speech.

And that is irrespective of if it was true or not.. Glad to see the end of him. Yes, one of the most baffling things to me is how educated and otherwise smart people including those who are tech literate can fall into the trap of online scams and disinformation. Education probably decreases the likelihood of that happening but it doesn't make one immune. An anecdote I have is someone who is so completely delusional that he believes "NESARA/GESARA" is a real thing and it's happening. He told me it was gonna happen on October 19, that Trump was gonna win, the certification would be different, etc. and now that none of that has happened, he still maintains it's not over. It's based on such loosely spun tales and misreadings of true things that there's no arguing. But the baffling part is this person has a command of language and knows how to form arguments. He's not illiterate. His arguments are (at times) logically sound but they operate on a simply untrue set of premises and axioms.
