  1. I hate to burst your bubble but companies absolutely meddled with the government in the 90s and long before that. Perhaps the general public was less aware of it. Cronyism in its current form has been a thing since at least the industrial age. The way some companies and individuals amassed so much wealth was precisely by using their money to influence the government and make more money in the process.

  3. Intel previews its 11th-gen desktop 'Rocket Lake-S' processors

As I have said before... Let me know when the M1 chip can run Linux and/or Windows natively and is licensed for other PC OEMs otherwise no real interest on my part (and most people). In other words. it's reach is limited by only running one OS. Intel/AMD days are not going to be over because of a niche platform (17% market share on the desktop) but I am sure they appreciate your concern.

  10. Intel previews its 11th-gen desktop 'Rocket Lake-S' processors

What the Apple M1X can accomplish and whether it matters to anyone will really depend on the use cases. If you're in the Windows world, the M1X isn't really an option unless you want to virtualize your Windows environment on MacOS. That's not to discount what Apple has accomplished, it's just a bit too early to be writing off Intel (or AMD for that matter). As far as Kim Keller goes, while things at Intel aren't great that guy doesn't stick around too long in places. His history shows that. Some people move on every few years. It's possible he went to Intel, set out what he intended to do and go their stuff in order, and in a couple years we'll see the results. Who knows?

Unfettered 'free market' at work. Tada! There is a debate for government sponsored/control public digital spaces, but again, the 'free market idiots' fight against that, even though they really want it now. There is also context of access to speech, and despite what the SCOTUS says, money is not speech and corporations are not people. As for context, do I have the right to publish hateful crap about people on t-shirts and EXPECT walmart and all the other large stores to carry it? Nope.

  21. Google joins Microsoft and Facebook in suspending political donations

Interesting developments. Mega-corps determining who gets a platform and who doesn't. Particularly worrying regarding politicians. At a federal level, it's very visible, but what about at a state level. People complained when Facebook manipulated people's feeds with good news / bad news / political news for local or state elections. Now they are cheering it. Open Pandora's Box at your peril. In a democratic society, everyone with a sizable vote, should have equal access to a platform. It's up to the politicians to change the hearts and minds of the electorate, not mega-corps (paid for by the opposition).

  24. Do you carry cash?

LOL I know right, but no I have exceedingly more than that and I'm an upstanding member of society. It's mainly because I do work sometimes for people at their homes and they pay in cash and I literally cannot be bothered going to a bank. Then at shops etc I always use my phone/watch or on rare occasions I use cash if it starts getting too much in the wallet

  25. My goal is still to get a 3070 for the better RT performance but at these prices that's not going to be anytime soon. I don't know if it's the VAT or also still the short supply and high demand but 3070s going for over €750 is insane.

  28. sounds promising. so good to see AMD bringing the heat and actually competing in the CPU market again My current laptop is the Asus Vivo Book that was on one of the deal articles like a year back with a slightly older Ryzen 3 and it's been great for me. Not a gaming laptop but is plenty capable of everything I need (can stream games when desired on Geforce Now and Shadow) and gives me excellent battery life. Things have only improved with the Ryzens since then so if they keep up the pace I'll definitely stick with AMD when I eventually DO need to upgrade again.

  36. There's no such thing as "Hate Speech." That's another political word that's made up. If I say something that makes you cry, that's not my problem. It's yours. Block me and go get therapy. The majority of readers don't cry and are not offended. It's all free speech. That's how it works. Now you know. i'm not a lawyer, yet, but i am a law student. No, you're wrong, hate speech is a thing in many places, whether you like it or not. IDKY some people think they're entitled to say whatever they want at any time. that's not how the world works. try not to be such a snowflake. you're ok, and you won't melt. What is wrong with the ability to say whatever you want? it's inconsistent with a functioning society.

Their platform was struggling and used Trump and supported to gain so much wealth and now since they are comfortable, they can get away with anything they throw him to trash like a used toilet paper. 41. Facebook is halting contributions to PACs in Q1 2021

[Super]PACs have materialized as one of the worst things to happen to US politics. They've been runaway organizations that get massive dumps of funds from large wealthy entities/corporations that do the work of a campaign, and you can bet there are communications (although indirect, as that's a no no) between the PAC and campaign. They basically unregulated slush funds and don't have the same restrictions direct contributions to a campaign.

  42. I didn't know Antifa and BLM supported Trump. Hmm, the more you know. It's a sad time we live in... It was acceptable for "certain" people to egg on and support a complete year of riots and hundreds of millions of dollars in burned city damage, but when there's one assembly of Trump supporters and some windows were broken, it's magically a terrorist attack with a ploy to overthrow the government. The double standard is laughable, but the conservatives are embarrassingly bad at playing the game...

  46. LOL. You abide by the rules of a PRIVATE service, you know the ones agreed to upon signup, or you find your own way. You don’t understand what freedom of speech entails. so people tried to "find their own way" but google and apple ban the app. any other suggestions? You do understand that you can not only still get the app without apple/google but the site itself is still accessible. On top of that, even if you are on parler, you still have to agree to their rules meaning you can still be banned by breaking their rules.

Then unplugged charging cable, and plugged back in gamepad, and had a nice enjoyable gaming session with the wireless headset

  50. Donald Trump has been permanently banned from Twitter

You won't be missed. And neither will Trump. In fact, Trump may be looking for a way to leave the country ASAP, since Impeachment #2 is pending, with a good chance of succeeding in his removal. Even though it may seem pointless to remove him less than 2 weeks before Biden is sworn in, if removed will prevent him from running for public office, ever again. His actions this week led to the deaths of at least 5 people. Their blood is on his hands. And anyone who doesn't believe he's responsible for this, should be considered co-conspirators. Not entirely useless, if he’s convicted in the senate, he can never run for office again.
