  4. RGB masks now? Horrendous! I truly despise the RGB craze going on. It’s even hard to buy high end hardware nowadays without that abomination included. I tried 6 months ago, on a $3000 build. Nope, I have to deal with those stupid lights.

  12. Got the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine

Hi All, Just a PSA, As a front line health care worker, I received the 1st of two COVID vaccines last Wednesday. I wanted to get it due to my age and exposure to COVID-19 patients on a daily basis. I must say that despite a sore arm and one day of some malaise, I feel fine. Going back for #2 dose during the first week of January. I am extremely grateful for the many scientists, researchers, and volunteers who did the research on this vaccine. I am blessed to be one of the first to get it and encourage others to do the same. Yes, there were two (so far) who had reactions, but this is expected in a huge population getting the vaccine. There will be a few who don't tolerate it. Please consider getting whatever vaccine is offered to you. COVID-19 is no joke and the residual effects are horrid. Best always to all of my fellow Neowinians this holiday season!

  13. But please refrain from using this archaic, outdated form of address. It belongs to the Victorian era; nowadays, it's just tacky and sexist. Ahem. Like "Ladies and Gentlemen", "good sir or madam" is precisely the OPPOSITE of "sexist", by definition. I'm making sure I am addressing a man or a woman, instead of making an assumption (typically male, patriarchal). So, no, I'll use it whenever and wherever I want. Especially when I want to be extra polite and/or formal (with a hint of funny), which is what I was actually doing. Meanwhile, please refrain from posting with a stick up your keister.

i DOUBT IT. it has NOTHING to do with your conservative stuff, and mass exodus from Twitter and ###### down parler. don't kid yourself. Have you read the article? Guess NOT. 94% of the new users are NOT from USA. It is about something else, Whatsapp changing the terms and conditions to share you data with Facebook. This is a completely different GLOBAL issue for Whatsapp users all around the world. Nothing to do with anything else happening in USA,. So, no, you assessment is very distant from truth.

Zero chance of that - Durov is a billionaire already, duck if he need Zuckerbergs money! He was already MEGA rich when he started this messenger, this is not his golden egg. ;) While he managed to avoid pressure even from the govenments to open up, i cannot guarantee it will stay the same, but there is a good chance! and i think there is 0 reason to sell to facebook, as the who platform started against i

  33. The web is becoming an annoying garbagefest

If you aren't catfished into clicking on BS headlines that claim something and then end up being nothing more than clickbait with nothing of what is claimed in the headline (like for example "Air date for Strange New Worlds" and then it ends up claiming "sometime in 2021" those sort of articles). I immediately block these sites from Google News, which is mainly where it happens for me. Here are some annoyances in no particular order Random captchas showing up on sites I visit every week (like for example my local supermarket order online) without VPN, why then? North American sites denying entry for visitors from the EU (seriously F*** YOU!) GDPR cookie banner annoyance Yes I do have an extension to bypass GDPR cookie warnings, but while it works in 80% of the time, it creates an additional annoyance on sites it doesn't work on by disabling the page altogether until I disable it manually for that site and reload the page/accept the cookies. Honestly, people couldn't be more annoying if they tried with just these examples.

  34. Just get decouple the GUI altogether and give us something like Server Core, home edition; everyone can install whatever Desktop Environment they like Aero, Metro, Luna, Classic; and their own choice of apps Media Player, Windows Live Photos, etc. or Groove, Photos app, etc. Everyone's happy.

  37. At least for native PS5 games, the console should support having both a performance mode and a quality mode – it's been reported that the Ratchet & Clank game will support just that, dynamic resolution up to 4K and a performance mode. Maybe it could be limits in the ability to add optimizations while also keeping PS4 support. Say that you cannot define multiple target ranges for dynamic resolution for some reason, then you'd not be able to provide such a quality mode as you'd ruin the PS4 experience.

HA. you are so full of it. Telegram moved away from Russia, same with the creator, changing citizenship immediately, and they never submitted to government pressure. So, STFU, about what you don't know. The easier option was for them to comply, luckily the owned had billions from his last project and did not have to bark when asked.

  47. The web is becoming an annoying garbagefest

Oh is it the Festivus airing of the grievances. I got two annoyances of current era web. 1. Ensnaring you in site engagement. e.g. The time bomb scripts that throw registration popups or some other form of lure. Also the infinite scroll can burn in hell. 2. Excessively stuffing their data metrics. In other words filling every page with frames to load many social media posts as possible or autoplaying random videos forever. I want to click a link, have it load quickly, view a discrete unit of content, and be done with it. It's annoying knowing every page will be resource eating lag fest. JavaScript can do neat things but the way it's used is exactly like casinos that want to make sure you enter, never leave, and spend as much money (in the case of the internet, attention) as possible. Then have you keep coming back and repeating thatcycle. More over this narrative that unused PC resources are wasted is a thinly veiled excuse for poor coding and/or excessive JavaScript bloat. If they want to use so much compute power that's fine but make better use of it. My PC is not your personal ad money printing machine.

  48. The web is becoming an annoying garbagefest

Video ads that autoplay without audio still payout, and was a requirement from me to our advertiser. When they started with this bright idea they autoplayed audio and I had them disabled until they fixed this oversight. Ads are fine and necessary to pay for things, but when they start taking over the content like others have pointed out, then it's not great at all.

  49. The web is becoming an annoying garbagefest

Yeah, the internet has become one giant shitshow. A lot like how it was in the mid 2000s, but worse. I had to disable my adblocker a while back to test something, forgotten that I did that.. Holy crap, the internet is so unusable without one. When you click on pages, you get full screen popups on mobile asking you to signup for the news letter, dozens of AdChoice ads everything, ads with videos that play automatically.. Then, don't forget security.. Tons of databases not secure, everyone getting hacked, not knowing it.. Then, you have companies that are just selling your data.. a lot more than people realize.. it isn't just the big and mighty MSFT, Amazon, Google, ect..
