  1. I'm a big fan of wireless charging but this.... This is something.... Also I'm interesting to know how does it work and if it will also charge my Covid 5G microchip antenna in my body...

  8. Windows Terminal Preview 1.6 is out with new settings UI

This is opensource, bit of a misnomer saying Microsoft is releasing this. Feel free to jump onto github and provide a pr on a better layout for settings. For this community led app it's function first, UI\UX second. yes, i'll do the work for free for a multi billion dollar company So you are all talk. Got it. ==> Boohoo, MS doesn't do things I like. Let me cry in my beer instead of contributing and providing an improvement I would like to see.

And that is why I dislike cryptocoinds or anything related to Wall Street or the market. Most of it is hype!! Ups and down are caused by hype/pressure/emotion, not 'real' value of the item or company.

  11. SpaceX Super Heavy and Starship updates

That's because no one does know what's happening. Part of it is the FAA AST office that handles this is seriously understaffed. Another part is that, in general, the Federal govt. is overly bureaucratic and incompetent. This is regardless of who's in charge. It's why when some proposal to create another big program comes along many or most Americans just go "O-M-G, another s***show 🙄" FAA fits this for several reasons (see how they've mis-handled Boeing, anti-collision systems, etc.)

  15. at least devs get properly paid So do we only believe in trickle down economics when we talk about developers/publishers making more money so they can pad their wallets pay their workers? I really don't get some of the contradictory theory on this, especially when we look at good developers turning rotten like the devolution of Blizzard Games or even watching CDPR going from praised to hated for their complete incompetence. That being said, what happened to the end user getting a better experience? I don't think EGS has helped in that regard in any way, shape, or form. In fact, at the end of the day, the best thing people say about EGS is that they got free games (see comments below for example). And... despite the big fluff of this article, here are some numbers compared to last year. Their growth in users has certainly increased, but that hasn't translated directly to sales which makes me wonder about the whole sustainability of games being handed out, if nobody turns around to actually buy anything. https://i.imgur.com/8Y1j0mH.jpg

  26. Implying that you were a pirate and then stopped? Hmm... a former pirate calling someone else an "insufferable douchebag." Who hasn't even pirated games in the past... don't put your hand up, you are lying The answer is a boy who dreamt of growing up and becoming a software developer. To learn to hate piracy during one's formative years is quite effective. Things didn't quite work out as the boy dreamt but he has learned a thing or two about the people who give the "insufferable douchebag" sermon. I think I had a stroke reading this.

  27. Vivaldi introduces two-level tab stacks for easier access

I thought this browser was going to be great at first, but these days I wouldn't even install it on my PC. The privacy policy is very bad because it assigned a unique ID to your device which tracks it's location daily.

  29. which is what i used to think. now, going from 4k to 2k to 1080p screen on the phone this size. it is obvious. personaly, i think 2k is good for that size. 4k is unnecessary, but still nice. anyway, if anyone is gaming on the phone it is a hindrance, not a bonus. and for watching the 4k content, the bigger size screen (at least a tablet) is much better. I'd rather have a higher refresh rate than 4k on a phone. 1440p at 90hz is the sweet spot in my opinion.

MPC-BE can't even open a file in full screen.. what year is it? MPC-BE can do anything! It is 2021 and you still haven't found how to make a video player go full screen. It cant launch straight into full screen. You have to launch the file then double click on it to go full screen. You can set it to open full screen by the playback option "D3D Fullscreen". It has a separate option for launching files in fullscreen https://i.imgur.com/JSauX0Y.png

  33. Vivaldi introduces two-level tab stacks for easier access

I think the tab bar on top is a core usability-oriented design. Tabs are what you click the most in a web browser to switch, open new ones etc and with them touching the top screen edge, they are easier to target with the mouse as you can just shove your mouse pointer to touch the top edge without accurate positioning vertically. That's why they may never put an option to move tabs below the address bar like the old IE-style design.

  37. as long as it does not have a notch lol. i do not like the 21:9 aspect ratio though. it is too skinny. i always thought 2:1 was the perfect aspect ratio for phones, which is why i liked the overall design of the htc u12+. i would have bought a u12+ as well if they didn't screw up the whole phone with those false buttons.

Man, something's gotta happen about tabs, since I guess it's been normalized to just leave 80 pages open at all times (you monsters). I don't think this is the thing, though.

I still use it, because the process that locks it is not always visible to close. Well maybe I am lucky or maybe because I have a completely different programs setup. Probably. Its almost always software development related. I install it on every co-worker's Windows machines, because I tired of them constantly coming to me and asking me why xxx folder is in use when everything is closed.

  49. A lot of wasted effort, money and R&D time on this OEM part. If Intel wanted to enter the GPU world on any competitive level, they should have gone straight to something that could take market share away from AMD and nVidia. This is a slight step-up from integrated graphics on their chips, barely.
