  4. This is why I no longer use Google. When I do a search, I'm looking for information about something. Google serves up where to buy it, which is exactly what I'm not looking for.

  11. Bing is the search engine you use when you're not actually searching for something, either because you're making a joke or because you really don't care... Everyone inside the USA praises it, I've never seen anyone outside the US say it's ever been good, and in my personal experience (non-USA) it's been complete trash. As someone that has used Bing almost elusively for over a decade, and in various countries. It is about the same everywhere. However, it is also better than your impression. ** There has always been a bit of a difference in how it works, like how it contextualizes searches, which work better/faster when digging for specific data compared to Google. When searching for something contextually related, it has always elevated results that also match or relate to the previous searches in one session in a short amount of time. (Google started doing 'contextual' searching a 'bit' a couple of years ago, and called it a new feature - even though it was just working more like Bing. - Irony.) One compliment I am known for in my friends/professional life is my ability to find information online, quickly. (I also have a degree in information systems, so that also doesn't hurt, but using Bing also doesn't hurt, and I find really helps when time is important.) Even if you don't use Bing, you get a lot of the benefits. Look at the features Google has added the last decade. Nearly every feature was copied (almost identically) from Bing. So even if you and other still find it horrible, the good things that it does eventually makes it to Google. (So don't wish Bing dies.) I do suggest that you or anyone that just assumes it is bad, to challenge yourself and use it as your primary search for a few days or a week. (At least over Google.) It might benefit you. ** I have spent time in a bunch of countries, most for several months, and using the primary native language in a couple as well. Technically, mine is another anecdotal story of someone from the US, but not very typical.

  17. Just looking at the basic '14-core / 20-thread' does make it bizarre since it's outside of what you typically see with CPU's. I assume it consists of 10 normal cores/20 threads, the extra 4 are low power/efficiency cores. big.LITTLE strategy just like ARM. Probably to will go head-to-head with the upcoming big brother of Apple's M1 (M1X or whatever it's gonna be called).

If I'm on-site wearing gloves, I'd still have to use a PIN on Android so not sure what the answer there is. 3. Overpriced based on what metric exactly? Smartphones have pretty much hit an equilibrium between each other. Like... there are some tradeoffs, but honestly, I'd be happy with a Samsung, Pixel, or iPhone all the same. It's just a matter of what you want... be it control, support, etc.

  21. Let the console wars begin! Round one: The battle of generations

Cool idea. I've never owned any myself so I shouldn't vote, but it is an interesting concept. Personally I'm a big fan of a console you can dust off and play all the games you had for free, or go find used games for dirt cheap. That's not a thing anymore with all the only-digital BS, and servers which require you to pay to use, etc. I met a girl during quarantine and we got her old SNES working (with a bit of help from me cleaning connections, rewiring controllers, etc) and played donkey kong for days. It was glorious.

They're not even putting the ESP32 on the board, they're literally buying in a big module because they're cheapskates https://content.instructables....OIXXJJ3/FSJSF9PJOIXXJJ3.png so I don't have much faith that this would be of any quality what so ever and would be surprise if they weren't 2 college students. A 3ds can do all this and much more and you can probably get them for around the price they want for this now-a-days

  25. I actually prefer Bing to Google. Agreed, the Microsoft Rewards are a nice touch too. i would not use anything just because of some measly rewards. If it wasn’t for the rewards the only people using Bing would be people who don’t know how to change their default search or think they are already using Google. MS went to a lot of trouble making Bing look like Google. Bing looks nothing like Google.

  26. Up until a year ago I would have agreed with you. Bing used to be so US centric, however they have come leaps and bounds this past year and are actually quite good now (at least in Aus). So much so that I made the switch to Bing after switching to Edge and getting sick of the "HEEEEY PLZ USE CHROME MAATE" every time you loaded a google page. If google try to cut off email and calendar, then I'm screwed, but otherwise quite happy with MS offering now days!

I don't use Google either to be honest, I use Duck duck go, which gets it info from a few different places including bing as far as I know, but when I have used bing it seems to be linked to the U.S and bring results from the U.S. more than the u.K, Alexa uses bing as well, which is why it doesn't know anything. Agreed I switched to duck duck go and it's been brilliant, some obsecure things have had either no or completelely irrelevant results but other than that I've had no issues with it.

  34. Xiaomi's Mi Air Charge can charge smartphones wirelessly through air

Good grief people.. Didn't ANY of you pay attention in physics class? The amount of loss in this will be ridiculous... You're looking at MAYBE, in an ideal situation, 1% efficiency AT BEST. 5w charging? you're going have to shove at LEAST 500w into the charger, then you have to convert back to DC within the phone which has around 50% loss, so that means a KILOWATT of power AT MINIMUM to MAYBE put 5w into your phone? Do you want to walk into a room with a kilowatt of power being beamed around in it? Because I sure don't.

  35. Here's the box art for the first PlayStation Studios game on Xbox

This from what I remember was more because of the MLB rejecting any more exclusive games and wanting it to go multiplatform or they'd pull the license from Sony and probably give it to someone else. While the name change to PlayStation Studios does hint at more of their first party games shedding exclusivity I think at best it's just for the PC. I doubt you'll see many on other consoles. Heck at this point because of the zenimax deal I bet you'll see more Xbox Game Studios titles on the PlayStation since they've already committed to honoring the exclusivity deals already in place.

  36. Boy I hear how iPhones are "overpriced junk". Until you're done dealing with copycat rubbish apps flooding GooglePlay, all filled with basically literal spyware, absurd OS fragmentation, terrible long term software support, weeks and months of waiting for updates because you have the wrong device internal version or live in the "wrong" region and while you're waiting, chances are vendor will suddenly announce the exact device you happen to have just got dropped and you're actually not getting anything. I was dealing with this trash since Android Eclair and like 2-3 years I had enough. Yeeeeah, but you can install any launcher and and and you can like install 40000 billion rubbish custom ROM's with zero support and bunch of stuff broken after you stop dicking around with stupid bootloaders and custom kernels for 40 hours... I ditched everything Google anyway at that point, only thing left was Android phone. I was an avid Apple hater and even said I'll never own anything Apple ever back in the day. Then I just dived into it and now I have an iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods 2. And my god the user experience is just sublime. Sure, it has it's stupidities just like Android, but they are all minor in comparison. People whine over "muh walled garden Apple ecosystem" nonesense and I'm almost laughing coz it's such a massive lie still being propagated to this day. I'm using iPhone. And basically nothing on it is Apple's service. I use everything 3rd party that's neither Google or Apple. One could argue Apple Watch is locked coz you can only use it with iPhone. Fair enough. But experience is amazing because of how tightly it's integrated with iPhone. And AirPods 2, coz I hate silicone in-ears, they were my first go to after I gave up checking 5000 cheap TWS AirPods clones with made up specs and ridiculous version numbers of TWS 80000 because bigger number is better. LOL. AirPods have excellent sound even for gaming and I exclusively use them on Windows systems. Apple stuff is actually pretty amazing once you stop hating it by default and you actually use it for a while. Then you start appreciating updates that you get the same moment they are announced. Something totally unheard on ANY Android device.

  39. You don't like something, so brand it the "enemy". How very Trump-ish of you. Our side is not the one that bans everyone they disagree with. lol, o'rly?? Trump banned journalists from attending his rants because he couldn't handle questions that actually needed answering. Republicans as a whole is a massive censoring machine. They've always sought to repress the non-white population when it comes to voting, quite recent. So yeah.. "your side" would happily shut up everyone you disagree with. You fail to see that you are nothing special, you're all a bunch of angry ######, on both sides, unwilling to act like human beings. The. Same. Or if not those two sides, who did you exactly meant under "our side"? You are talking about Acosta, aren't you? Of course, you are. Are you actually surprised Trump snapped when they asked him for the 97th time about Russia collusion? If you wanted an answer you would not go ask Trump. You would ask Kayleigh Mcenany, who actually had answers.

  49. PotPlayer 210201 [Update]

Or try VLC. Also, for some reason, potplayer connects to several IPs on startup. And you know this how? Ghacks did an indepth review of the latest Potplayer and found nothing of what you are stating. Infact they found no Spyware, No Adware other than the Logo pops up ocassionally. https://www.ghacks.net/2020/12/26/a-look-at-potplayer-in-2020/ Next time, read twice before posting crap! At your link it states: "I monitored the program using Glasswire, and found that it pinged some servers in South Korea. stat.tiara.g.daum.net play.gl.kakao.com p1-play.kgslb.com p2-play.kgslb.com t1.wg2vgaja.kgslb.com t1.int.daumcdn.net These seem to belong to Kakao, which owns a messaging platform called KakaoTalk. PotPlayer has options for chat and that broadcast feature probably uses the same, and as I mentioned earlier I couldn't get it to work. It is possible the program pings the instant messaging servers for providing these services. Or, maybe it uses those servers to check for updates or subtitles? You can block these URLs in your Hosts file to play it safe." Potplayer is the same crap it has always been! Download CurrPorts to see for yourself. PotPlayer is by far the best media player out there. MPC cannot reach it and VLC is a complete joke compared to it. Now those pings is because Potplayer is a Korean software and it doulbles as chat software-big deal, ever here of Windows Firewall? Create new outbound rule for PotPlayer .exe file and Block it.
