If it's done right, the battery usage of AOD is negligible if the screen can turn pixels off. I always found it quite useful for checking notifications at a glance without waking the phone. I'm surprised it took them this long to even consider it - the Lumia 1520 had AOD back in 2013. Interestingly, Nokia even had AOD working on LCD screens (they called it Glance) with the 920 from 2012, and with negligible impact on battery. That was some good engineering. Yeah Nokia were good until Microsoft destroyed them.2 points -

My Pixels had always on displays, it was nice to have on the bed stand at night when I needed to see what time it was, but it also was bright enough that it was distracting when trying to sleep. I could go either way on always on displays. I do like it when I'm wearing my watch.2 points -

Yeah I would be all over that myself But for like $80 for 1000/50 here - no thanks I will save the money, since 500 down is plenty... But yeah for gig/gig I would jump on that for sure! Even at higher price.. But I don't have any options in the area for anything more up.. forget the down.. And they are way cheaper than comcast.. So just hoping for some sort of fiber option, etc. The other good thing about wow is no data caps.. So yeah FU comcast2 points -

360 games were so much better than PS2. Show me a PS2 game that even came close. Heck, comparing a PS2 version of game against the OG Xbox version, the OG Xbox won 80% of the time. The PS2 was technologically behind the OG Xbox.2 points -

It's either punch hole or notch. The under display cameras are still not that great, let alone being able to put a Face ID projector under one. Apple will go portless before they go usb-c on an iPhone. The only thing that might realistically return is Touch ID, but it'd be a supplement to FaceID, Apple isn't ever going to get rid of it. So yeah, you'll be waiting a long time.1 point -

I was having issues with upload for a bit, pay for 500/50.. And was getting that - then out of the blue dropped into the dirt like 2 or 3 tops, etc.. Download was ok.. But upload was just utter useless.. When they came out - they tried to blame my modem at first (byod)... So I said sure - put it one of your yours and lets see Same crappy upload.. Took them 3 days to figure it out.. But they finally got it fixed.. 2 different truck rolls.. I have WOW, and have been pretty happy with their service and support.. You should of pressed them for gig if that is what you wanted. But to be honest - 500/50 is screaming fast enough.. I would love to have more up.. And would pay the extra for gig down if the up went up with it... But their current top plan is 1000/50 (at least in my area) - I don't need more down, I want more UP.. Serving up plex to friends and family need up bandwidth.. I don't see how anyone really could actually need gig down in the home to be honest.. That is a freaking lot of concurrent 4k streams1 point -

Console wars round two is here - Time to choose the finalists
NXTwoThou reacted to +InsaneNutter for a topic
Personally I'd never compare the PS2 and 360, however the 360 was the best console ever released in my opinion. It brought online gaming to the masses who we're never in to PC gaming. The 360 launched with achievements, which other platforms have since copied and XBLA brought a lot of unique games to consoles. So many games also supported 2/4 player co-op on a single console, which was great for setting up easy lan parties with two consoles / tv's. Xbox vs PS2 however, Xbox all the way simply for the homebrew scene. The games just performed better too. On the PS2 the framerate was poor on various multi platform games compared to the Xbox, game such as Need For Speed come to mind as an example.1 point -

Yeah, I tend to think the XBox consoles in general are ahead of Playstation consoles overall. because unless someone really gets into the Playstation exclusives, which I never really did (although I liked Gran Turismo(Playstation exclusive) at one point but once Forza Motorsport series came along in 2005(XBox exclusive), there was no reason for me to bother with Playstation anymore in terms of exclusives) they are better off with a XBox overall. plus, I think in terms of moding... the original XBox was the peak as just getting programs on it like XBMC (XBox Media Center) made it quite nice for video playback alone and not to mention you could run your games from it's hard drive along with emulators etc. I think the original XBox was the console I got the most all-around use/enjoyment from in the more modern era consoles (i.e. call it 2000-2001 (i.e. PS2/XBox) to date). but then again after the XBox360 era I never got into any newer consoles (basically there was simply not enough games I liked high enough for me to justify the hardware costs etc) since as I generally preferred PC gaming, especially in terms of shooter types of games as a mouse is just far easier/quicker to accurately track stuff on screen than a analog stick which cripples me. but then again there is very little games I bother playing anymore as very little is worth playing/replaying here and there as the years pass. because while I would say I used to play games more heavily from around my mid-20's and younger, I would say by the time I was around the age of 30 (which was about 10 years ago now), video games as a whole started to take a solid hit as less and less were worth playing and that continues to this day as even when I do play a game once in a while it's almost always something that started in the past, or ill simply replay a game I liked years ago etc. but at this point in time... looking back over the years I tend to think when looking at about the mid-1990's to date (call it 3D-era on forward) the N64/XBox stood out to me the most overall. but I think to this day, I would probably favor N64 over original XBox since I think those games (at least a small amount) got a bit more staying power for me at this point in time.1 point -

Well, the recent closure of Stadia Games and Entertainment and multiple third-party games that got their Stadia funding pulled last week may sent out two messages: 1. Number of Stadia users is very small 2. Budget for Stadia project may got cut. If either "side" can't converse without resorting to racist, sexist and religious abuse, then I wouldn't want them on my platform either. Agreed. Also, abusing the report function should automatically suspend the use of the report function or at least put it on some sort of cooldown. Can't expect big companies to moderate millions of posts if the tools they use to regulate are actively being abused. The toxicity of social media extends well beyond "hate speech".1 point -
Microsoft to introduce a 'Teams Pro' plan for added webinar capabilities for business users
Usama Jawad96 reacted to Jason Latham for a topic
Update from the Microsoft Message Center: Updated February 12, 2021: Based on early feedback we have updated this post to provide additional clarity. Thank you for your feedback. On Feb. 9, we published an MC post regarding a new Teams Pro service plan. To clarify, there is no change to existing product licenses with the addition of this new service plan. Rather, the service plan will be added automatically to Microsoft 365 and Office 365 E5/E3/A5/A3, and Microsoft 365 Business Standard/Business Premium licenses, and will enable users who are licensed for these SKUs to automatically receive capabilities rolling out to Teams in the near future. There is no action required by admins, and no additional purchase is necessary for Microsoft 365 and Office 365 E5/E3/A5/A3 and Microsoft 365 Business Standard/Business Premium licensed users to acquire the new Teams capabilities that will be part of the Teams Pro service plan.1 point -

So your renting their equipment.. And they want to upgrade your device... Then have them come out and do it.. I am unclear on the issue here? I personally hate all in one devices.. And for $12 a month in a year or so you would pay for your own equipment for sure... Even with buying a kick ass modem and router.. 2 Different devices..1 point
